They have award-winning sausages made on site, and also cure their own bacon, and make up their own beef burgers. There's a variety of stuffed or marinated meat, good for the bbq in the summer or for roasting in the winter. They make sausage rolls and pasties, and it's pretty hard to resist when you walk by and smell that baking! They were happy to give me bones for a dog for no charge. Anything you want, they'll get in for you. There's a small selection of produce and chutneys, and some meat bagged up for the freezer. Oh, and there's cheese and ham, too. I may just start sleeping on the floor. And if you go in and say what you're making, they'll give you the right cut of meat and the right size, and then tell you how long to cook it. I think one of these days, they'll just follow me home and cook it up for me. The downside? It's expensive. But you're paying for quality and expertise, which you just don't get at a supermarket. They're open seven days a week, too.

But that didn't mean I had to wait, as he called his colleague out from the back who was happy to assist. I was very pleased with both the service and the quality of the steaks I purchased. I'm a semi-regular here, although I tend to shop here more in the summer when buying for barbecues etc as they have a good range. They also make their own sausages - the pinner porker is great, and they even make pies, pasties and scotch eggs.

I only went in for some ribs and ended up getting completely carried away :) Their selection is awesome. I ended up buying steak and wild boar burgers, chicken breast, lamb ribs, Radlett sausages, spicy chicken wings and free range eggs! Okay, it is not as cheap as some of the bigger shops, but then you most definitely get what you pay for. The chicken breasts are delicious and I only needed 2 as they were rather sizeable! The lad behind the counter, was helpful, smiling and charming and nothing wass too much effort for him. I love the fact that they support the local community and the farming and there is a lot of local produce here to chose from. They also do a selection of glazed produce, hot & spicy, BBQ, herbed and so on, so you can be lazy and get it straight from them all done, no faff and straight in the oven or on the BBQ. I will 100% be back here. The quality is outstanding, fantastic selection and great service. I am a mega fan of this place.

It's probably the fact that this small shop has 3-4 butchers who are cranking out cuts of meat with serious speed yet friendly service. I've never seen a main street butcher so busy. I guess people know a good thing. You also know that at this rate of turnover, the product is fresh. The funny thing is... everyone had a laugh at me for taking pictures. They only accept cash so bring plenty or face a ~£2 surcharge at the only near by cash machine in Londis. After eating be sure to wonder around the vast gardens of Alexandra palace and grab a cake at the garden centre nearby. This is my favourite nearby place to bring my dog for walks.

Martin has got himself a good quality butchers and the shop looks very pristine and clean - a far cry from some of the other, grimy butchers I have seen in my time. The meat on sale is reasonably cheap as well, considering the freshness and service costs that must be incurred with the price. Alot of people were queueing up here, and I can fully understand why. A popular place, and a place for meat purists. I personally recommend the leg of lamb on sale, because no meat is truly as tender as roast lamb.
