As for the food, it was divine. My guests were raving about her meat lasagna, and even the most carnivorous in the bunch loved her vegetarian lasagna. (My son to this day doesn't know that it had vegetables!) For sure, even the pickiest eaters will like one of her dishes. Her desserts were nothing short of exquisite. She made these bite-sized tarts with a sweet lemony custard and fruit in the middle, as well as chocolate. But my favorite was her chocolate and walnut shortbread --- it is crumbly at the bottom, but the chocolate ganache on the top is not too sweet but creamy and has that lovely mouthfeel.
