He planned games and activities for us including catching food, drinking, and fire juggling. Food: 5/5 Each of our meals came with a salad, fried rice, veggies, and one or two proteins. The food also came with a yum yum sauce that was delectable and paired with everything. I got the steak: scallop, and the scallop was so tasty and the steak pretty tender. If you called on Friday to confirm the event, and then called again on Saturday asking where the chef was, Savvy and yumo should have caught the date issue at that point and addressed it with you immediately. You should not have been told that the chef would call you, only to continue waiting and then receive a cancellation by text later that evening. I completely understand why you are so upset. No one wants something like this to happen, especially on their own birthday. I also have my birthday in August, so I can personally understand how disappointing it would feel to put time, money, and effort into planning a special celebration and then have the main service fall through at the last minute. We are now reviewing the communication handled by the two customer service team members- Savvy and yumo who spoke with you. Because their conversations with you directly affected how this order was handled, we are treating this seriously and reviewing whether important information was missed or not properly escalated. This company canceled 24 hours before the party. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY- unreliable and unprofessional!!! First they tried to change the time. We reserved an 8pm slot and they tried to change to 5pm 3 days before the party- mind you I had scheduled this almost a month in advance. I pushed back on the time slot because 5pm vs 8pm is a very different start time. Then to cancel 24 hours before the party is just absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional. A friend used this company which is how I got their name in the first place. DO NOT use this company they are unreliable and unprofessional. Then when I called to ask what was going on they then changed their story to the chef couldn't do it anymore? Insanely unprofessional and shady company. Absolutely terrible experience with Love Hibachi. I booked them on February 9th for my 30th birthday March 20th for 17 people, and they canceled the day before. Who does that? After over a month of planning and confirming, they canceled with less than 24 hours notice for a party this size is completely unacceptable. It put a huge amount of stress on my birthday dinner and honestly ruined a big part of what we had planned. Planning food for a group this size isn't something you can just throw together overnight, and they clearly didn't care about the position they put us in. A waste a money, terrible communication and their booking manager agreed to send 2 chef since I have 35 guests but only sent me 1, chef. This is Burlingame location, I just wasted 2 thousand dollars. I modified my review after speaking to the customer service, they apologized for my experience and wanted to fully refund my money. I only agreed to partial refund since it wasn't totally the chef or corporate's fault, mostly due to poor communication and management. We hired Love Hibachi for my sister's bachelorette party, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. To start, the chef made several inappropriate jokes. If a joke begins by asking people in the room "How many people here are a certain race/ethnicity?", it's probably not appropriate for a group event. It made things uncomfortable pretty quickly. In terms of entertainment, there were very few of the engaging cooking tricks you'd expect from a hibachi experience. Aside from a couple of basic fire tricks, there wasn't much of a show--none of the creative or interactive food tricks I've seen at other hibachi restaurants. Finally, the food itself was just okay. It lacked flavor, and honestly, I felt like I could have made a more enjoyable meal at home. Overall, this was not the hibachi experience I was hoping for, especially for such a special occasion. Updated review: I appreciate the prompt response and the effort made to address and make up for our experience.
