    Big O Tires

I bought a new Landcruiser over in Denver, drove it home to Grand Junction and decided that I…read moreneeded to change out the underwhelming OEM tires for something a little more fitting for the trails that this truck would see. I called up Big O, ordered some BFG A/T KO2's and a couple of days later they showed up and I got a call telling me as much. I headed in, got the tires swapped on, and drove off, but strangely my TPMS sensors were not registering... hmmm. I drove back and Mike checked them, and found that on the install one had been broken, no biggie, they ordered the part from Toyota and said they would install it when it got in. A couple of days later I get a call that the sensor is in. Drive down, they pop it in, and.... still can't get the TPMS system to register the tires. Well as it turns out the Toyota Landcruisers are a bit cagey with their TPMS sensor programing and most scan tools won't do the job. Did Mike bail? No! He called the tool maker as well as the local Toyota shop. He set me an appointment at Toyota to teach the car the sensors (a service that Western Slope wanted $100 from me to do) and said they would cover it. In the meantime they had the tool sales rep there, got him on the phone with the tool manufacture looking for a solution. An hour or two later Mike calls and says that they think they have a solution. Drive down, he sets the scan tool for a 2 year old lexus sedan, and voila - problem solved. No trip to Western Slope needed. Now was it awesome that a sensor got broken during the install? Not so much, but these things happen. What is awesome is that they admitted to the mistake, fixed the problem, which caused another problem, and bent over backwards to fix that problem. They didn't even charge me a cent. That is pretty awesome customer service. These guys are worth your money if you are in the tire market. I know it is my go to tire shop from now on.

I would definitely suggest discount tire they have more respect and manners. They'll get you in faster.

As an ex employee there, I have insight to the inner workings here. In my opinion, they are quite a…read moreshady business. I have seen more padded estimates there than i have ever seen. They write to replace a roof skin when any other shop would have 6-7 hours of repair on it, replace a quarter panel for fairly minor damage, replace undamaged headlights and taillights and other parts and then there is a guy who comes in and buys the old headlights and taillights. And as a tech, any time I would point out these things, the production manager would go off on me. I would let my supervisor know of this and nothing ever happened about it. I was finally let go because they overheard that I was looking elsewhere, and they lied to the unemployment insurance which I will be looking in to an attorney. Also they paid me significantly less than they promised me when I moved out here from Minnesota plus no 401k like i was assured of. And now I find out a friend of mine had his Tacoma fixed there and as he says, they did him dirty. Supposedly replaced the grille and headlight with nee parts but he found out they were glued together. All in all, the shadiest place I have had the misfortune of dealing with. I ABSOLUTELY stand by this statement about this place and I honestly expect there to be threats and attempted repercussions for this but there is definitely a paper trail to validate my claims They even have gone so far as to contact my present employer and disparage me literally monntgs after I left there... I guess the fact that they have basically no insurance adjusters to keep them honest really shows the lack of character of this family... when they feel the need to bombard the people with their embarrassing radio commercials several times an hour, Bellering on how "Superior" they are, probably should consider bringing your vehicle elsewhere...

He also told me that they don't mask off anyting. Then he tried to tell me they couldn't blend because I had a clear coat. And he forgot to contact me about having a part complete because he needed my approval and wanted me to pay for the extra repair. Kind of hard to believe he never heard of submitting you supplement to the insurance company. For the work that they did do was satisfactory. Their shortcomings came from the office.
