I'm not from around these parts, and I wanted to try a local place so I could review it. Well at 3pm on a Saturday, I could not find a place to serve me that had a full menu. The nearby Mexican place was serving, but I had Mexican recently. One place stopped serving at 2 and started serving at 4, a buffet was throwing their food out to prepare for dinner, and most bars had a very limited menu. Why is it is hard to find food at 3pm on a Saturday
This place didn't had food either, but they were hosting a local fundraiser/bakesale for a family who suffered a major health problem, and I got lucky with my food.
I digress, time to actually review this place. I like the fact that the owners are willing to lend their small venue area for a fundraiser. There were some musicians loading in speakers, so it's cool that they have live music too.
This place has a bunch of Dart Boards and actually was hosting a dart tournament too. There are electronic slots too if that's your thing.
Coming from Chicago, I was pleasantly happy with the prices. $3 for well rum and coke. Even lower during a special if I read a sign correctly. They had a few smaller TVs playing the Cubs game (in standard definition, what year is this??).
In the end, I didn't have much interaction with services and consumables provided by this place. It lost a star due to SD sports, and the fact that everyone glared at me when I walked in, something that usually happens to me when I walk into country bars. But it seems like a nice place, cheap prices and wiling to help the local community, which is great. read more
