Definitely worth checking out. There is no seating in this small spot, but the riverfront is nearby and there are picnic tables for when the weather is nice.

I think the quality of the food probably punches above its ambiance weight class though. My wife ordered a steak and for the area, I'd say it was seasoned and cooked better than most. My beef bolognese was alright, but not the best Italian dish I've had in the area. We also tried the Brussel sprouts and they didn't do it for us. They were steamed with a shredded parm and I probably would have preferred a baked/balsamic rendition better. The alligator on the other hand was a dish worth coming and trying though, the sauces paired very well-my only quibble was that it seemed like their fryer oil needed to be replaced as there was a very subtle aftertaste of burnt oil. They also offer you a free desert if you're out celebrating, which was a really nice gesture in our opinion. Overall the service and food were above average. The ambiance and price left something to be desired. In general I would recommend this place to someone who maybe hasn't traveled as much but wants to get an upscale steakhouse feel in the Janesville area. If you only have one night in the Stateline area I'd personally direct you someplace else to try to blow your socks off.

The bar was severely understaffed for a holiday rush at 6:00 pm but the drinks we ordered were very good. The atmosphere is just what you want in an Irish bar. Just lots of friendly people having a good time. We both ordered the corned beef and cabbage and the portion could have fed a family of four. My only critique is that the brisket was not sliced correctly. It tasted really good but it was hard to eat as it was cut with the grain instead of against the grain.
