Let me start off by saying that I recently had a bad experience with a hearing aid "place" that I…read morewas not happy with and swore I wouldn't go back. My father is 88 and has terrible hearing so that is not fun as it is, but dealing with people that just don't care and are looking out for their wallets makes it even worse. With that being said, I was not looking forward to finding another place to go. Since his hearing aid was a $1600 purchase 7 months ago we kind of had to find a place that deals with that brand so we were a bit limited in options. His hearing aid started beeping and we couldn't make it stop, so we had to find someone to help with it. I called Southside and the woman answering was just so nice and helpful. I explained the situation and told her that we really needed this hearing aid serviced but also would like to have my dad in to be seen to see if they could help him more. She said of course, drop it off and we'll see if we can fix it and in the meantime we'll set up an appt for him to come in. Not only did they see if they could fix it there but she called to see if it was still under warranty with the manufacture for me. Unfortunately they couldn't fix it there so they sent it out for us, this is even before my dad was even an actual patient of theirs. We went into the appt and the audiologist was extremely friendly and instead of yelling at my dad and treating him like he is an idiot she leaned in much closer and just spoke directly into his ear and to him like a human being! I know this should be standard and I probably should expect this but its not standard, the last guy just yelled at him in this condescending tone like he was stupid from across his big important desk. We did the hearing test and she spent like 40 minutes on it, taking her time to check everything. My dad is pretty basically def in one ear and hasn't heard out of it since he was 17. She hooked up her testing equipment and told him she was still going to test that ear even though he said it was "dead" and he actually heard out of it! I don't think that he will end up being able to hear out of it normally anyways but just the fact that she tried and spent the time and he heard something was awesome! I actually teared up a little...I know, sound silly but it was a bit unexpected when I saw him so surprised he could hear even a slight sound in the ear he hasn't heard in over 60 years. Anyways, she is wonderful, professional and you can clearly see that she cares about her patients and I truly appreciate that. She didn't hesitate to say she thought he should see a ear, nose and throat doctor and they may be able to do something more for him, but she would definitely see what more they could do with the hearing aid side of it. The receptionist was very accommodating and sweet. I am so happy we found them and would absolutely recommend them to anyone needing an audiologist.

Parking in front and behind the building. Smaller lobby area with a new self sign in machine. The receptionists are the best, so down to earth and friendly... they become family. Dr. Booth has the best bed side manner of any professional in the medical field I've ever experienced. Her passion and kindness in any situation is remarkable. I've been going here for routine physical exams, sick visits, immunizations and flu shots. They always get me in for sick visits, common colds and sore throats ... or refills on meds. There's a reason. My ear has been plugged since December 11th. My primary said I should go to an ENT. When I called for an appointment, I specifically said that my ear is plugged, at one point perforated ear drum that had drained a bit but was still plugged. Was told I had to have a hearing test first, why you ask? Because you said you have hearing loss. Doh, my ear is plugged, I also have tinatus which is much louder now, I just want my ear unplugged. Must have hearing test first, it's protocol. So I go, why are you here? Plugged ear. Audiologist, why are you here? Plugged ear, they told me I had to have a hearing test first, all I want is my ear unplugged. Test done, she starts to explain the results and I tell her I really don't care, all I want is my ear unplugged. See the quack who starts to explain the test results and I tell him, don't really care, I just want my ear unplugged. Looks in my ear, yes the perforation has healed. I tell him I've even done the plug your nose and blow to try and unplug it. Well keep on doing that. I looked at him and said that's it? Yup. Grabbed my purse and walked out. He sent a letter to my primary letting him know that I'll be following up with him, not a snowball's chance in hell. Avoid this place. Waste of time and money

We checked in, and the process was smooth and comforting. When you walk in, the smell of old cigarettes slaps you in the face, but other than that, the waiting room is serene and clean. We waited a little, then the nurse called my friends name and didn't say anything to me. This was her first major surgery, so she was naturally a bit nervous. They started prepping her for surgery and both of us were left wondering when we were going to say "goodbye" or even just a clarification of what was happening. The nurse only came out to tell me my friend needed help with something. Turns out, she needed to take off all her earrings before surgery, which was not communicated to us at anytime before arriving. The earrings had been put on by the piercer at the jewelry shop and were very difficult to take off. After about 20 minutes, we pried the earrings off. It definitely would have been more painless and less difficult to have been notified earlier. After the earring debacle, I just stayed with her in the prep room while the IV was places and other various prepping procedures were administered. We then had the chance to say goodbye before the actual surgery. All in all, the experience was quite nice. The staff and the nurses were very pleasant!! Would definitely recommend.
