He set a decibel maximum so loud noises wouldn't be jarring and he tweaked them to match my particular hearing loss. I had hearing aids about 12 years ago and they were really awful. They made everything shockingly loud and I wound up retuning them. So I was not expecting this to be helpful but my Dr, Dr Sarnov (another great Dr., btw )recommended I try again. I am SO GLAD I did! I feel 20 years younger! I was at a social event last evening, the same day I got them and I was able to hear all of the conversations in the room and because of this, I was able to make a little joke about the topic of conversation (dogs) and everyone laughed at my joke. I can't tell you how good that felt and I realized how much I had grown accustomed to missing. If you are thinking about it...do try them.
