I an SO GLAD I DID! These new aids are awesome! Indoors, outdoors, with eyeglasses or without, in restraints, watching TV, outdoors hunting, fishing and birdwatching, even on windy days! They are is comfortable and effective that I put them in in the morning and leave them in till bed time. I am hearing things that I have not heard in decades. Love these aids. The hearing center fitted me with moulded hearing aids which are comfortable and hardly visible. The hearing aids also have blue tooth and a tinnitus masker which sends a frequency which cancels the ringing due to the tinnitus. These hearing aids have greatly improved the quality and comfort of my hearing. The hearing center handled all the testing, fitting, set-up and insurance issues with courtesy and professionalism. I was impressed. When my needs increased, I sought her out to find she now owner her own business. I made my appointment since I knew I'd put off hearing aids long enough. I was seen by her associate Dr Juliet Stuber who was delightful. She was extremely thorough and slowly & carefully went through my evaluation, testing and comprehensive overview/explanation. She never once ever even mentioned it was time for hearing aids, but rather allowed me to make my own decision etc. i had done a great deal of my own research before this appointment and interviewed many hearing aid customers / patients. Let me start off by saying that I recently had a bad experience with a hearing aid "place" that I…read morewas not happy with and swore I wouldn't go back. My father is 88 and has terrible hearing so that is not fun as it is, but dealing with people that just don't care and are looking out for their wallets makes it even worse. With that being said, I was not looking forward to finding another place to go. Since his hearing aid was a $1600 purchase 7 months ago we kind of had to find a place that deals with that brand so we were a bit limited in options. His hearing aid started beeping and we couldn't make it stop, so we had to find someone to help with it. I called Southside and the woman answering was just so nice and helpful. I explained the situation and told her that we really needed this hearing aid serviced but also would like to have my dad in to be seen to see if they could help him more. She said of course, drop it off and we'll see if we can fix it and in the meantime we'll set up an appt for him to come in. Not only did they see if they could fix it there but she called to see if it was still under warranty with the manufacture for me. Unfortunately they couldn't fix it there so they sent it out for us, this is even before my dad was even an actual patient of theirs. We went into the appt and the audiologist was extremely friendly and instead of yelling at my dad and treating him like he is an idiot she leaned in much closer and just spoke directly into his ear and to him like a human being! I know this should be standard and I probably should expect this but its not standard, the last guy just yelled at him in this condescending tone like he was stupid from across his big important desk. We did the hearing test and she spent like 40 minutes on it, taking her time to check everything. My dad is pretty basically def in one ear and hasn't heard out of it since he was 17. She hooked up her testing equipment and told him she was still going to test that ear even though he said it was "dead" and he actually heard out of it! I don't think that he will end up being able to hear out of it normally anyways but just the fact that she tried and spent the time and he heard something was awesome! I actually teared up a little...I know, sound silly but it was a bit unexpected when I saw him so surprised he could hear even a slight sound in the ear he hasn't heard in over 60 years. Anyways, she is wonderful, professional and you can clearly see that she cares about her patients and I truly appreciate that. She didn't hesitate to say she thought he should see a ear, nose and throat doctor and they may be able to do something more for him, but she would definitely see what more they could do with the hearing aid side of it. The receptionist was very accommodating and sweet. I am so happy we found them and would absolutely recommend them to anyone needing an audiologist.
