Wife and I were looking for a used car. We saw a 2021 gmc terrain that looked good with only 30 thousand miles on it for a good price. Got pre approved on line and Frank M. Contacted us. This was at 2 in the afternoon. Went down to morans and test drove the car. Frank had the paperwork ready by 6 o'clock and by 8 we were driving home. Can't say enough about the great service. My best advice to you is not to use this dealer even if it means traveling. We bought a Denali at a Plymouth dealership (excellent dealer), but went here for the oil change and transmission flush because it's closer. We were supposed to get a free oil change because we purchased a bumper to bumper warranty. They refused to give it to us because it wasn't in the "system" even after verification from the Plymouth dealership. ok, fine we thought... we'll get it the next time even if we have to go back to Plymouth. Well, no sooner did we get home, when we see trans fluid leaking all over the floor of my garage. Call the dealership back up... they come tow my truck the next day. Mind you I can't drive my truck after a simple oil change and trans flush. They tell me it's just over filled. I ask that they wash it due to the mess it made and the inconvenience. I can't put into words the arrogance and ignorance involved with their customer service. They said it would require someone do it by hand because they don't want to run it through their machine. ok, do it by hand then. They agree to do it. They drive it back to my house the NEXT day. They don't ask where to park it. They just block all the teen drivers in the house rather than just pull down to the garage. NO WASH!! They refuse to give me my free oil change, argue with me that I don't have a warranty. I pay for it to be done. They mess it up. I can't drive my truck for 2 days, and they won't even wash up the mess they made. Do not go to this dealership!!! You've been warned! read more

Describing this as the worst dealership experience I've ever had hardly does justice to my ordeal. I had scheduled an appointment to drop off my car at 11 a.m. on a Tuesday, with two service alerts that needed attention. The service representative assured me that he would provide updates by the end of the day regarding the status of my vehicle - whether it required further work or just a quick fix. However, no communication was received from him throughout the day. The receipt I received upon dropping off my car stated that it would is "Promised" by 7:00 p.m. the same day. Consequently, at 7:02 p.m., when I called to inquire, I was abruptly informed that the Service Department had closed at 5 p.m. After contacting the Sales Manager for assistance, it became apparent that there was a severe lack of information regarding my car within the dealership's system. It took nearly 30 minutes for him to locate my vehicle and for him to call me back saying "Sometimes mechanics lock car keys in their tool boxes before they leave, but I will keep looking and call you back as soon as possible." Another 30-45 minutes later the Sales Manager called to inform me that my keys had been located, but he couldn't confirm whether any work had actually been initiated on my car. This lack of communication between departments resulted in a situation where I couldn't legally drive my car, despite the promised 7 p.m. deadline. The following day, I was informed that the inspection hasn't even started yet and wouldn't for a few more days. The Service employee tried to mislead and lie to me by suggesting that he would update me post-inspection, when in reality, he had promised to do so on the same day I dropped off my car. He further mentioned that the inspection might not occur until the following week. The entire experience turned into a over week-long ordeal of confusion and frustration. Despite eventually speaking with the Service Manager, who acknowledged the errors and lack of correct information. The overall lack of care, miscommunication, and disorganization within the dealership were glaring. While the Sales and Service Managers ultimately helped rectify the situation, the stress and inconvenience caused by the dealership's negligence cannot be overlooked. I strongly advise anyone considering this dealership to meticulously document all interactions, as there is a high likelihood of mismanagement and mishandling of customer vehicles and keys. Unfortunately, this experience has ruined my trust in my nearest Chevrolet dealership, and I cannot in good conscience recommend their services to others. read more

My Onstar service diagnostics reported that an engine service light is on and needs attention. I went to a local car repair shop to see if they could help with that and was told by them that the engine light diagnostics is reporting that an EVAP (evaporator-emissions vent system performance is failing. The repair shop said that there is a couple of emissions parts that may have failed and that the car is still under warranty until 2026. My car is a Chevy Trax 2016. They also said that GM will check and will install the part and that I will not have to pay anything for the part because still covered until 2026. So I took the car to Moran Chevrolet on 09-27-2024. The Service Advisor-Matt Burke told me that they will run diagnostic check and if part is covered under warranty then no charge but if not then there ill be a charge of $210.00. I had to leave my car there the whole entire day to have the work done. At the end of the day at 5:30pm I get a call from Matt Burke stating that the part cost $279 and the labor cost $671= $940.99. I was overwhelmed by the massive cost for this service done today!!! Not happy! Very upset! I also confronted the Service Manager afterwards of the HUGE price gouge of the labor. This car with the under 60,0 miles and still 2 years under the 10 year warranty period should not have to pay that kind of cost for this issue. 3 times the cost of the part just for labor...ridiculous! neither the service advisor or the Service manager is willing to negotiate any price change difference. read more

This service department has ruined my family's life for the last 5 months. They ruined our Chevy Volt, and refuse to take responsibility to repair it. Their VOLT technician caused $1173 worth of damage to the car by not putting it back together properly, and Moran is aware but won't reimburse us. Even worse, they failed to diagnose and properly repair and to bill a major repair to my car under the Voltec warranty and their repair failed. The real problem with the car, diagnosed by another Chevy dealer, is that the Hybrid battery is no good and needs to be replaced. The car has sat in the shop for over 5 months, and the warranty has ran out. Because the Voltec warranty ran out and Moran failed to properly diagnose, repair and bill the problem when the warranty was still active, Chevy and Moran Chevrolet refuse to honor the repair or the warranty. How can they get away with this? I took my car to them while the car was still under warranty for repair and now they refuse to honor the warranty because they misdiagnosed the car? They have also left me with nothing to drive for the last 5 months, and I have a severely disabled child. The manager is aware but refuses to respond to my requests to fix my car and provide us with transportation, and does Chevy corporate. They could care less about our car or my family. This service department are thieves. I found out they had pulled codes showing my hybrid battery was no good while it was still under warranty, then told me the hybrid battery was in good health and sent me home with the lie that the car was repaired. Now they have left me stranded for FIVE MONTHS and paying for a loan on a car that sits in a chevrolet repair facility which I cannot afford to fix--all because they failed to properly repair and bill the repair while it was still under warranty. All of this I have documented with paperwork from their own shop. This place ruined my family's life for the last five months. Stay away from them. This says I live in San francisco for some reason, but I live in Fort Gratiot Michigan. read more

Moran Chevrolet in Ft. Gratiot, Michigan provided me with the worst dealership experience I have ever had in my 30+ years of purchasing new vehicles. I turned in a 2018 Traverse 3LT and leased a new 2021 Traverse 3LT. Immediately after getting it home we noticed a high-pitched noise inside the cabin. I called the sales rep and she told me to bring the vehicle back in the morning. The tech couldn't hear the noise, maybe because it was pouring rain...not sure. The conversation with the sales rep included her telling me (after speaking with her sales manager) that we want to make sure we figure out the issue and if we can't you can get your trade back, because the paperwork was pulled after I spoke with her the night I picked it up. We want to make sure our customers are happy, she said. I brought the vehicle back the Tuesday after Memorial Day and the same tech got in the car and didn't hear it the apparent noise. The service manager got in the car and he didn't hear the apparent noise. Needless to say I was frustrated. Upon speaking with the sales rep post visit, I asked if there were any other vehicles on the lot. There was, but not anything I wanted. I then asked her to get my 2018 Traverse ready for me to pick up, as I wanted to exercise the option to get my vehicle back. She got back to me saying she spoke with her manager and that because the two tech couldn't hear the apparent noise, they were only willing to redo the paperwork if I lease a different vehicle, but they were not going to honor the promised option to give me my vehicle back. I spoke with the sales manager and he confirmed what the sales rep told me. I was less than happy. He told me that the techs didn't hear it, so it was functioning within GM factory specifications. Essentially, my family and I were being accused of being deceptive. So, because they didn't hear the apparent noise, it doesn't exist. Really? He was adamant he was not going to horror the promise to give me my car back, so I asked him one last time, before the situation get elevated within the organization (inferring GM) to "do the right thing." Unfortunately he dismissed me. Well, I took the vehicle to another dealership this morning and they heard the high-pitched noise immediately. In his words, "I hear it clear as day." Well, there you have it. Everyone within the Moran Chevrolet organization should be ashamed of how my family and I were treated. read more

It was Christmas and my car broke down so I brought it here where it sat and sat until January 4th the staff was very rude and unhelpful not to mention they took forever fixing my car which of course wasn't cheap. It's hard too rate something that you can't see either before or after. Trans oil flush and change, anti freeze flush and change, serpintine belt change and glow plug replaced. I just have to assume it was all done properly as I have no leaks and the truck seems to run fine. However, the people at the service desk were very professional and answered all my questions. So, having said that I'll give the desk 4 stars and assume the mechanic keeps the same standard of professionalism ( that being the case he would get 4 stars also). One last thing $$$$ read more

Beware of false advertising on used cars, and suspicious vehicle titles. I purchased a used car that Moran Chevrolet advertised as zero accidents, but when we discovered the vehicle was actually wrecked and rebuilt, Moran Chevrolet refused to allow the car to be returned for false advertising. Somehow this rebuilt vehicle still had a clean title. Rather than honor their word in advertising, Moran Chevrolet said since the car was sold used "as is", they aren't going to refund the purchase no matter what. Don't get ripped off like I did. A little while later we showed up to check it out only to find out it was sold a few days earlier. They tried showing us suv's thousands of dollars more. Took my Blazer in for recall work and to fix the stabilizing bar. It was running great before they touched it and after $1,000 it was running awful. Power steering wasn't working right, it was stuck in 4 wheel drive, after the repairs. Took it back they wanted another $2,000 and nothing they said had anything to do with the issues. Change all the fluids, how is that going fix it? Took it to my usual mechanic they fixed it where it is running great again and they didn't do anything Moran said it needed and it cost $1,200 not $2,000. We are planning on buying a new or certified used, no more than a year or two old, in the next 6 months and now I know not to buy it there. Especially if it is used because they won't fix it before they sell it! Employees were nice enough just seems like the actual mechanics don't know what they are doing. read more

The worst service department EVER. Prior to becoming a Chevy only dealership the service department was OK. Now it is staffed by total incompetents. I called 3 x over a 3 week period to see if a part they had previously ordered had come in yet, so that I could have my car serviced. NO ONE EVER CALLED BACK IN 3 WHOLE WEEKS! When I called a 4th time and spoke to a different person, he claimed "It just came in" and I could bring my car in for repair. We scheduled a 9 am appt for 3 days later. I dropped my car off the night before. At noon the next day when I called to see how they were doing I was told "we're trying to get it back there". When I asked if the oil change had even been done, the girl said "oh, I'm sure if there was an oil change it was done", but she didn't think anything else was done. When I asked to speak to the tech in charge of the job, some guy came on the phone and said that as far as he knew NOTHING had been done yet. THREE WEEKS OF GRIEF TO EVEN GET SCHEDULED, AND THEN THEY DON'T EVEN LOOK AT YOUR CAR! WHAT A BUNCH OF MORONS! Unfortunately they are the only GM dealer left in the Port Huron area.
