Somehow my original review was removed, and that took away the owner's comment inappropriately referring to what women should/should not be doing with their bodies, my race, and angrily calling me a feminist, so I'm reposting this from my appt on 9/13/22: I have never had such a negative, traumatizing experience at ANY business before. In my entire life. I set up an appointment for tattoo removal. Got texts from Jason, the owner, on a Sunday night asking for availability. He asked for photos of the tattoo, and I sent them. Everything seemed fine. The tattoo I want removed happens to be of a cross symbol. I drove 30 minutes to the area and called the store twice for help finding the building. No one answered so I sent a text to Jason. As soon as I pulled into the correct lot, he called me back and told me he'd see me inside. The first red flag was there was a christian song playing on the speakers as I entered. Somehow, I knew it was directed towards me, but I ignored it and gave them the benefit of the doubt. I sat down in the lobby and filled out a form while he was finishing up with his appointment before me. Everything seemed relatively fine. A few minutes later, he calls me back, and we go to a room in the very back of the office. He closes the door and asks to see my tattoo, which is on my upper back. So I turn around to show him the tattoo again, and then I turn back around to face him. He didn't ask me to sit, he didn't make any moves to sit himself. He stood there, blocking the door, and the first thing he said to me is: "Do you believe in god?" I was immediately uncomfortable, but I answered that yes, in some way, shape, or form, I do believe in some sort of god(s). He then starts to preach to me. Literally. He starts talking complete nonsense about faith and religion but he wasn't making any actual sense or any points. I told him I was confused. He then asks me: "Do you want children?" I tell him no, and at this point I'm angry. He continues to preach to me and keeps talking about "burning," as if he was repenting his sins right in front of me. I tell him that I am uncomfortable and ask angrily what his point is. He then says: "Well it's just you're a pretty girl, and women should not be marking their bodies." I tell him I greatly enjoy "marking my body" as I have multiple tattoos that I plan to keep forever. Keep in mind, he's still blocking the door. I've never been so terrified and shaken in my life. I felt like I was looking in the eyes of a cult leader. I finally tell him that this is very uncomfortable and inappropriate, grabbed my things, and then I had to basically push past him to make it to the door and leave. First things first, Dr. Moran's salon has exceeded all of my expectations. After doing a ton of research, I chose to travel over an hour away to see Dr. Moran. Upon arriving for my first session, I was impressed by the location and look of the office space. I was extremely nervous but Dr. Moran answered all of my questions, didn't pressure me, and made me feel comfortable. He was patient with me and very accommodating. The results were OUTSTANDING. Within about 3 weeks of the first session, my tattoo faded significantly. After the third session, a large portion of my tattoo (which is a cover up that extends from my ribs to the bottom of my hip) is completely gone. I completed my 4th session today and I'm almost sure I'll only need one more. Lastly, the pricing is very reasonable... especially for the quality and care I've received. For the size and complexity of my tattoo, I thought laser tattoo removal would be unaffordable. I was sooooo wrong. I was trying to be nice so I just put a 1 star without any explanation but Ellen's husband (Jason) wrote the most unprofessional response to my 1 star so I will gladly write down what happened. Ellen & Jason Moran are the hair salon owners. Ellen is the hair stylist and I have never met Jason. Please read below for the details but I think the owners response is enough to show his unprofessionalism. I mean look at his responses to all the other negative reviews. My goodness. Also, I apologize in advance for any spelling or grammatical errors. ------------------------ I just moved here so I wanted to find a place that would do color and keratin treatment. So I found Moran hair and laser salon for a keratin treatment through Groupon but please note that we did not use Groupon for our hair color. 9/10: As shown in the text, Ellen said my hair would be starting from $65 and her prices would be fair. I sent her a pic of my hair and also the color I wanted. 9/12: As shown in the text, Ellen said my friends hair would be $95 and up. She also got a pic of my friends hair and what she wanted too. 9/27: As shown in the text, she said $65 but we ended with $150 BC she didn't have any of the platinum bleach bottle. Since she used the lighter bleach, she had to use a lot more but I didn't say anything BC my hair was perfect! My friend and I got our hair done and Ellen did an amazing job. It was beautiful. I told Ellen that I got the Groupon deal for the keratin treatment but she never mentioned about Groupon taking 40% (which wasn't my problem) but I would have gladly refunded the Groupon and just gotten the deal from her directly. We had originally planned to get my balayage and keratin treatment done that day but since we thought it was best to do another balayage treatment; we decided to do the keratin treatment after balayage session 2. But that day and nor before that appointment, she did not mention about the extra fee for the keratin treatment. Since she did such an amazing job, I still scheduled my next hair & keratin appointment. Then an incident happened at the salon where my skin had a horrible reaction to but Ellen was so sweet and was trying to help settle the situation. 11/7 & 11/10: As shown, I texted Ellen a few times but no response. So I contacted Groupon for a refund on the keratin treatment. 12/5: Ellen finally texted me back and said that her assistant was horrible and she made several appointment mistakes. Then, she said that her horrible old assistant has been contacting the wrong number. But when I contacted that number, she said that Ellen has never previously texted her until 12/5. 12/6: Ellen specifically said $20 extra for the keratin treatment BC I have a lot of hair... which is totally understandable. And if I added another toner session, my total will be around $100. 1/2: But now Ellen is asking for $100 extra for just the keratin treatment. I told them that their prices has been very inconsistent so I will just take my business somewhere else. The service is fine, if not great. The problem is how pervasive the intense Republican views are in every part of this business. The owner does not wear a mask and does not encourage customers to wear masks. They typically play Fox on the TV but today they were playing One America News, which is edging on propaganda and is vastly inappropriate in any business open to the public. So over my life I've made a few poor choices with tattoos. Now before you start thinking I have a bunch of gang tattoos- stop. Mainly I had 2 on my back that really bugged me. So, I hear about laser tattoo about 9 or 10 years ago but I knew the technology wasn't great and results were so-so at best. Fast forward to 2017. Lasers have progressed and learning about ink and pigment has gotten more extensive. Tattoo removal has pretty much been figured out. So I started looking for places in Nashville that offered the services. Doctors offices usually offer these but their pricing is always higher just because it's a doctors office. I came across Jason at Moran laser. Top. Freaking. Notch. I already knew a bunch of answers to the questions I asked him, and he answered them spot on. I texted him a few pictures with measurements and he responded with a fair price. Set up an appointment and went at it. So if you think this might be super painful- well, it's not. I've had worse. But it's also not less painful than getting the tattoo. But- sometimes erasing our mistakes is harder than making them and very worth it. Anyhow. If you are looking for tattoo removal- do yourself a favor and go see Jason at Moran Laser. I just completed my 2nd treatment and my tattoos are just about vanished. They were old tattoos and usually those go away easier. Nonetheless, you can get your ex's name removed or whatever you want permanently removed. That's awesome. Go see them!!!! Well he was honest with me about my skin condition. He took one look at my skin and nailed spot on what he thought my current skin care routine included and then he wrote out a new plan to improve. Some of his suggestions were free technique type tips and he of course suggest different products. I gotta say the products are well priced. I just have two words for this place : stay away I had a horrible experience with this place , the girl that works there does not know what is she doing , she burned my skin. When I first purchased the hair removal package they promised that after 5 treatments that the hair would not grow anymore. This person sped through my hair removal treatment eager to get rid of me so after 3 times I asked for Jason. He did it one time and it was good, but the next time I went I requested him but he was fighting with a customer so I had to have Nikki again. Once again she did not do a good job and she has a bad attitude. I went to my next appointment and they made up a lie and said that I missed my appointment and canceled my package causing me to lose the money that I paid in advance. These folks are unprofessional.
