I came, we talked and chatted while she did my bridal trial, and she did such a great job! Then things took a turn for the worst. After my trial I tried to get in contact with her via email to book her for my wedding. Email after email, over a two month period, not response. She was active on Instagram so I though I would try to reach out there after several emails sent with no response. I got no response on IG either after sending 2 or 3 DMs. As I mentioned she was active on IG, so finally she made a post saying she was going to be going on Maternity leave shortly and to make sure all her clients schedule appointments and such before she would be OOO. So I tried a last resort and commented on the IG post saying, "I have been trying to get in contact with you via email and I haven't heard anything from you" so what happens, she DELETES MY COMMENT and then FINALLY messages me. She apologized for not responding to me and that she will get back to me within the week to get my wedding booked and things squared away........ Well I guess you can guess based on my review...... I never heard from her again. So I am out $100 or whatever it was for my trial and I have no makeup artist for my wedding and now I have to find a new one that is more reliable. If you want great makeup go here, but if you want a reliable makeup artist for your wedding day, I would NOT recommend.

And even though she was 45 miles away I decided to give it shot anyway and pamper myself. After all it was my 43rd birthday and the drive was nice. I was totally struck by Melanie's expertise with different types of skin. As she immediately acknowledged my fair skin type, and suggested a proper type of treatment to exfoliate without damage to my skin. After my relaxing exfoliation, and facial massage, she then performed a Microderm abrasion (My first time). I was a little nervous about the treatment, but she fully explained how it will feel, and what it's benefits are. Her explanation made perfect sense, and it was actually not painful at all, in fact on the contrary it was very relaxing. And the microderm abrasion opened up my pores wide to receive the healing skin products which felt amazing. While I may not have much experience to compare against my treatment from Melanie. I can say I was super impressed with the experience, and I will certainly give it another go. My rating is based squarely on how impressed and comfortable I was with her knowledge, touch, and the products she suggested after. - Thumbs way up for this gal. PS. Full review: As a bride who doesn't typically wear makeup or do anything with her hair, the idea of finding someone to do hair and makeup and then having it be hundreds of dollars was difficult for me. I've heard (and seen) how some wedding makeup could easily go wrong, so I knew I was looking for two things: I wanted someone who was familiar with a variety of skin tones and who specializes in more of a natural look. Affordability was also a must as I knew I wanted to pay for at least makeup for all my bridal party. At first glance, the pricing seemed a little high, which I understood since she comes with a lot of experience. I spent a lot of time reviewing and deliberating if I could afford/wanted to spend that much on hair and makeup. Christi and I then discussed what I really wanted done, who else needed hair/makeup done, and how I could work within her packages + add ons price structure to have the services I wanted while staying within my budget. Christi was very easy to talk to and we were able to work it out. She even offered to do complimentary touch ups on my mom (who insisted on doing her own makeup) to help elevate her look, to which my mom accepted. The Trial is a must. I'm sure everyone tells you this, but do the trial. The trial went well, but it was definitely needed. It gave me an opportunity to talk to Christi about what I wanted and what I liked/disliked. It also gave her an opportunity to see what did and didn't work with my hair. Not going to lie, the trial makeup was beautiful but not perfect. You could see a little bit of darkness under my eyes (mostly from wiped away makeup) and she used a lip color I had brought but didn't love. I talked to Christi about this and she reassured me that neither would be an issue on wedding day. Just in case, I made sure to bring a couple different lip options for the wedding, but she had her own and it looked great. She also gave me a little lip present to keep and use throughout the day. I was also worried about my hair holding since it typically doesn't, but both the makeup and hair lasted all night! One more thing to add that was a really great about Christi, she stayed until after the ceremony. A lot of hair and makeup artists leave right after you're done getting ready in the morning. She didn't. She met us at the hotel and did the bulk of it there, and then she traveled to our venue to do finishing touches after we were all in our dresses.
