Tiffany Marie is a hair magician. I have thick, frizzy/wavy black hair and she always makes it look fabulous. She's the only stylist I've ever had who dries and straightens my hair FIRST before cutting and it makes all the difference. My hair hasn't looked this good in years and I've tried both of the other "fancy" hair salons in EDH Town Center, as well as $300 salons in Seattle where I used to live. It's easy to make an appointment with her via text and I haven't had to wait more than a few days to get her next appointment. In addition, my hair is about 25% grey and I'm leaving it natural, and Tiffany was the only stylist here in CA who didn't "gently suggest" that I should color it to cover it up. I really appreciate that about her, even though that doesn't seem to be the norm around here. IMO her price is beyond reasonable for the detail-oriented work she does. Can't speak about the skills of the stylists at the salon, or about the establishment itself... Because, I never got that far. What I can say is the communication from the owner is extremely lacking. I sent the business a direct message through Facebook indicating I would love to set up an appointment for a haircut. The person who got back to me identified herself as the owner, and basically said she was on a trip, and asked if I could text her about my appointment request a few days later when she returned. I already thought that was odd... Shouldn't she have reached out to me after she returned? Couldn't she have recommended one of her stylists to assist me in her absence? But, I did as told... Texting her upon her return and again explaining what I needed, in hopes of setting an appointment. I texted her in the morning... She didn't get back to me till in the early evening. When she did, she addressed me with a completely misspelled name (unprofessional), and gave one option for a particular day and time which I couldn't make. I texted her back right away, explaining that the day she was offering was my birthday, and would therefore be pretty busy. She finally responded hours later, late into the evening saying that she would see if she had availability on another day after she got back into the shop the next day and looked at the schedule... Never heard back. Does it really need to be this hard? Seriously don't have time for this kind of jerking around. Easily made an appointment at another local reputable salon... I have a feeling I will be much happier with the outcome there. read more

I LOVED this salon and my stylist. The two stars are for TIFFANY as a hair stylist. She did awesome on my highlights and low lights (I did not get a cut so I cannot comment on her cut skills). Unfortunately, after looking for a stylist for months and finally finding one I liked (TIFFANY), I am absolutely heartbroken and disappointed that I am once again searching for a new stylist. I called over a week ago for an appointment and got no call back. Thinking perhaps I mumbled during leaving my number (I am NOT a mumbler or soft spoken, but wanted to give the salon the benefit of a doubt), I called again 2 days later and left another message. As of this review, I still have not received a call back from Tiffany, or anyone else at this salon. I shouldn't have to hound a salon or stylist to call me back, make an appointment, and let me give them money to do my hair. I did some calling around to other local salons and got an appointment for the next day.... That's the kind of follow up and service I expect. read more

I am new to this area and have been looking for a stylist. I tried one out about a month ago and showed her a selfie that I took right after my last hair cut. She did a pretty bad job, and i was back to square one, except now with a bad haircut. I found Salon Capelli on Yelp and booked an appt with Emma. Went in, showed her the pic, and she explained that she would have to cut my hair shorter than usual on the bottom and we'd have to let the top grow out in order to get back to how I wanted it to look. I knew there would have to be an "awkward" haircut in-between, but....it is TOTALLY cute! Yep, the "in-between-until-it-grows-out" cut is adorable. I scheduled an appointment with her before I left. I get my hair done by Ellie, and I always leave so happy! I live in LA for most of the year, but I wait to get my hair done during breaks in school when I'm up in El Dorado Hills so that I can go to Ellie. I like to try new stuff all the time, and she always figures out what to do and how to make it work for my hair. She's young but really talented, which is a good combo for me, and anyone else who doesn't want to look older than they are. She is a great stylist and really great with color too- I get compliments ALL the time because of her. I can leave her chair and, instead of having to fix my hair like I've had to do with past stylists whenever I get my hair cut, I can go out for the rest of the day and night feeling awesome. The mood at the salon is very friendly and comfy. They also have their own products, and I really like them. I use the "freedom shampoo" which I like because it doesn't have any harsh chemicals, isn't tested on animals, and comes in a recycling-friendly bottle. Try the "Diva Dust" as well! Volumizing magic, but a little confusing on how to use it. You should ask a stylist to show you first! read more

Goal was to get a new look, take some weight off my shoulders, and donate to locks of love! All accomplished here at Salon Capelli :) I called the day of to make an appointment and am new to the area. Michelle took me in, gave me a nice shampoo, and chopped off 10 inches for me to donate. She then meticulously spent the next hour cutting and styling my hair to the way I wanted it, and in the end I LOVE it! My hair feels so light, smooth, and bouncy. She was really concentrated but also fun. She only works Mondays and Tuesdays and does the rest of her week in SF, but she said the owner taught her everything she knows. Thanks Michelle! read more

RUN. Seriously, this place was the biggest hair-mistake ever. I'm new to town, so I look this place up and make an appointment for a cut and color. You'd think that would mean I'd show up and actually GET the cut and color, right? Uh, no. I get the newbie who proceeds to listen to what I want and then tells me... "sorry, I don't know how to cut short hair". No, you didn't read wrong. She doesn't know HOW to cut short hair. She then proceeds to pimp me out to any other stylist who will give her the time of day (it's a Saturday) - and they all essentially say no thanks. All of this in front of me and the customers. Finally she convinces one of the other girls to take me (at this point I'm completely humiliated as they deem me worthy enough to work with) -- but then an hour into my color job am told that this gal needs to take off to do a wedding party and that I'll need to meet her back at the salon later. Yah, I have to go home and then come back. So -- do I even have a choice at this point? I agree to come back, and then (wait, it gets even better!) -- the wedding-party-girl calls in and says she's not coming back! So now the owner calls in (the wedding girl called her) and says she is willing to cut my hair for free - BUT NOT FOR 3 DAYS. Meanwhile, the newbie has spent over THREE hours on my color, my daughter is ready to climb the walls -- and I'm feeling like a total inconvenience to the staff. I am paying THEM, right? Really, super fun experience. And then, as icing on the cake, the colorist informs that my 3.5 hour experience (which is typically done in less than half that time) - complete with humiliation, inconvenience and total unprofessionalism - is going to cost me $125??!!! Let's just say she's lucky I didn't have a heavy object in my hand. I'm not sure where it would have ended up. I will NEVER go back there again (even the color she did was spotty) -- despite the fact they continue to call me. And I would highly recommend you don't waste your time. If these girls are any indication of the way the owner runs her business, I would never want to put my hair in their hands again! Utter FAIL. read more

So, I finally decided to get my hair cut, went in, was greeted right away with the friendly manager/possible owner, she said I should have a consultation, and called out a name. We introduced ourselves and had a consultation for about 20 min, I felt comfortable with the "New Stylist" (her 1st week) She gave me some pointers and confidence in her abilities to go ahead with a style. So I made an appointment the next day with her in the early afternoon. I was excited and relieved I was finally getting my hair done! I was so looking forward to it! Day of the appointment however, as I was feeling confident and excited for my new hair sytle, she called me less than 2 hours before our appointment and cancelled with me. Something about "buying a car" and can't make it. She did try to refer me to someone else in the salon, whom I did not have a consultation with, and well, I felt uncomfortable. I have not been in this salon before and I know no one. Anyway, big disappopintment here, new girl, new client, and to me? not the best way to handle it, couldn't you do your personel things another day? It may have been ok any other time, but I was leaving the state to see a girlfriend the next day, whom I have not seen in awhile, and I wanted to feel and look nice. We moved to El Dorado Hills about six months ago. I came in for a cut and color. The color was OK but the style wasn't the best I've had. I kept coming back and still not all that pleased. Prior to Christmas after my last cut I tried to make another appointment and was told that the appointment book was not there. The owner took it with her . I told them that I would call them back and they informed me that they would call me. My feeling is that this is an I'll call you, don't call me event. I'm still waiting for that special phone call. I had Sara do my hair and I asked for this picture on Instagram and got this... you can judge for yourself but this is my experience so yours could be the complete opposite... I think it looks nice but wasn't at allllll what I asked for and basically looks like my natural hair already almost no one noticed it because it basically looks like highlights, she didn't even dye under my hair when you lift up the top layer and charged as a balayage, I don't know hair terms so I didn't call it anything just showed a pic, I got charged $170 and asked for a refund and was denied one every time I asked until my mother texted her asking for a receipt, I personally appreciate the refund of $100 because i was super unhappy but also am a little mad still why she gave me money back once my mom asked for the receipt, would've appreciated it more if she gave me money back when I asked because I payed for it anyway not my mom. I only wanted a refund because it is nothing close to what I wanted at all I think anyone can tell that. I understood blonde takes multiple sessions and such but the blonde isn't even in the right placement for that excuse. Her Instagram had nice hair but I feel she is better suited to do more Caramel colored hair in my opinion. I just wish I done more research before on a stylist who does better blondes and this type of hair I wanted and to see what they specialize in because I feel everyone has their strengths and weaknesses, I just I feel she was the wrong person to do the hair I wanted in the end. read more

I found Salon Capelli on yelp and decided to go there because of good reviews for Denise and Leslie, but neither of them were available when I called so, I had my hair cut and styled by Ramando. I have to say I have no idea why there aren't more reviews for him here on yelp! I like many of you looking on this site for a stylist was extremely nervous because I had been going to the same person for so long, but fear not he is an amazing stylist! The first in a LONG time to actually sit down and discuss with me his ideas and my ideas and find a perfect decision for my hair needs to weed out any confusion BEFORE the cut!!! I know this sounds crazy but he is the first stylist in a while who has actually LOOKED at my hair, I mean really looked at it, figured out the texture, felt the weight, found out what was working with my current style and what wasn't.
