I am very torn on how to review this place. If I am to review this on how nice the pizza was then its 5*. If we look at how varied the menu is then again its 5* however there were a few little things that made me think this isn't a 5* establishment. I will start with the positives, as mentioned earlier the menu is rather large with a varied amount of meaty options and just as many veggie and vegan options as well!! The pizza base was incredible, soft and wow! The quality of the ingredients was also on the high side. I opted for the Bresaola which consists of the following ingredients; Air Dried Italian Beef, Mozzarella, Parmesan Reggiano, Rocket. I expected a small amount of each ingredient however I was overwhelmed by the generosity of the chef! My whole pizza was covered in the air dried beef, it was so tender and WOW and the rocket made me question whether I ordered a pizza or a salad! My wife opted for the Margherita and that looked amazing as well. I was impressed by the amount of options for those who are veggie/vegan or have allergies. If we could have squeezed in more food we would have stayed for pudding, they have a great selection of ice cream and that includes gourmet vegan ice cream. Sorry I mean gelato, -5 points to me for not being hipster enough. I am torn between whether the location is great or not, whilst access is great for those on the bus with the majority of main rotues in and out of the city stopping within a few minute walk, its location is a nightmare for those who have driven, I know that isn't the restaurant's fault but its always a plus if you can find parking near by. Now onto the negatives, the seating arrangement is very intimate and not in a good way. There are no tables for two with long tables with bar stools and seats around them. Similar to a german beer hall I guess. Whilst going out for a nice meal with my wife I would have liked to have a table to ourselves instead we were next to a rather loud couple. This leads me onto the next downer. To begin with I thought the waitress was very attentive and polite, however the couple next to us were clearly very friendly with some of the staff and proceeded to have a very long conversation about the best foods to eat the next day after a heavy night on narcotics. This then led to the couple being egged on to phone a "friend" and organise a deal. I was a bit stunned by this and its not something I have experienced whilst going out for a meal.

Morelli Zorelli is a lovely pizza place, on the corner of Brunswick Street West in Hove. (I'm a little bit gutted as I used to go to BIMM, which is on this very street, incredibly envious of the uni students that get to go there on their lunch breaks!) They do delivery, takeaway and there's even a cute little seating area downstairs (which fits around 20 people) if you fancy sitting down! There's a real family vibe to the place, it's quite small (and I understand they can get quite busy), and you can watch your pizza being made behind the counter - which I'm always a fan of, feels quite authentic. The staff were friendly and accommodating (even when I asked too many questions!). The place is a mixture of a restaurant/cafe/takeaway and they sell a whole range of products: Organic & Vegan Drinks, Desserts & Sides Dishes, and of course what they're best know for: Artisan Sour Dough Pizza, available in Vegan & Gluten Free options! I had the 20″ Pizza: Vegan Chicken & Pesto and I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, vegan cheese can be pretty hit & miss, and I was also aware a friend of mine isn't the biggest fan of 'Cheezly' cheese. But, I went in not expecting to love it or hate it... Aaand I loved it. The slices were HUGE, so had to be sort of folded in half to be picked up. The base was soft, but not not stodgy. And the crusts were crispy, but also a little chewy - just how I like it. Toppings wise, the addition of Vegan chicken was absolutely lovely (previous Vegan pizzas I've had haven't had any "meat substitutes"), and something I would most definitely have again, or replicate myself if I were to make my own pizza at home. I've noticed a lot of pizza places putting rocket on top of pizza's, which I'm pretty into as a massive rocket lover (even when it's a little wilted from from being in a warm box for a while). I also had the Cheese Twists: "Twisted Dough Balls" - I'll be totally honest, these didn't really look like twists, nor dough balls, but they did taste pretty damn good & the "cheese" in these (Cheezly's Mozarella) was melty in amongst the dough. There was also the option to get these with Cheese + Mushroom/(Vegan) ham... I don't like mushrooms and have never tried Vegan ham so decided to keep it simple and just go with cheese. For dessert I went for the Nutella Calzone: Nutella Pizza Dessert and this was straight up delicious! I sorta wish I had eaten it fresh as it was a little chewy around the edges by the time I was ready for dessert, I think some Booja Booja Vegan Ice cream on the side (which Morelli Zorelli also sell) to moisten it up a bit would have been a good call... Will have to remember that for next time! (The Vegan option doesn't have "real" Nutella in, they use a chocolate spread from Plamil... However it could have fooled me, the taste was exactly as I remember!) The only little qualm with the meal is that my mum's house in Hangleton was a little too far for them to deliver, so we had to drive down to collect it ourselves. If you're looking to order, make sure you call in advance to check that you're within the delivery zone so as to avoid disappointment. read more

Lovely tiny stone baked pizza place with just a couple of tables in the street level floor, by the oven. I think there's more seating downstairs. Great atmosphere, good pizza base. I recommend it. read more

Perfect place. Delicious pizza with thin base. Good atmosphere and service. The order included pizza and two teas. It was ready in 5 minutes. read more

I am extremely torn about my star rating for this place. The food is extremely good quality but there are a couple of things that sadly let it down a bit for me. When my husband and I visited last night we were initially impressed. The setting is very modern and cosy and the staff are very friendly. When the food came out we were very impressed as it looked and tasted delicious. Sadly, as our evening continued, I was extremely disappointed by the behaviour of some of the staff. There was a couple of other guests at the table next to us who the staff clearly knew so our waitress spent the rest of the evening talking very loudly with them and ignoring everyone else completely. She was then joined by another waiter who joined in and remained in the conversation. The topic of the conversation they were having was extremely unprofessional and inappropriate and actually made me feel a bit uncomfortable. The guests were talking about what foods were good to eat after taking various drugs and I could hear the staff talking about their experiences of taking acid and other drugs. Our waitress was talking about how she would risk her job to have a good night out. The guests then said they were thinking of doing a drug deal tonight and the staff encouraged them, so the guy got his phone out and called up his drug dealer and confirmed a sale which pleased the staff immensely. This whole saga was in the middle of the restaurant and all other guests could hear it. On top of this, I had ordered a pizza that was supposedly gluten free but after eating it I felt really rather ill so there was clearly contamination at some point. It's a real shame as the food was delicious but I simply cannot go back somewhere that makes me unwell. Additionally the behaviour of the staff was totally odd. read more
