HOLY FUCK..... I was in Brighton for 2 days and I ate here twice. I was in love. It's a super small shop, kitchen in the back and a few more tables downstairs. Super Italian - and family run! All the staff are shouting in Italian and serving some of the best Italian food I've ever had outside of Italy. I had the Ravioli with meat sauce and I tried 2 pizzas - the Margarita & Diavola. The Raviloi was great, you can tell it's homemade & the sauce had loads of flavour. Moving on to the best - PIZZA. Amazing. The taste of the dough was really good and the sauce was sweet. Wanted some Italian food tonight and our hotel concierge recommended this place. It gives off a homey, family run vibe and the decor/Italian foods around the main dining area set the mood. The menu is so extensive it was hard to choose what to order. We tried the capricciosa pizza (all are neopolitan style) and it was one of the best we've had. We also had a delicious salad and some meatballs with marinara which were all delicious. All of the ingredients were clearly homemade. I was just here for a light meal and a beer. Location is good but its a bit tight if the restaurant is full. So, if you prefer to sit in private, this might not be the dining option for you. We had some pizza and bruschetta. It all tasted good. The pizza was a lot of dough though, I would have preferred a bit more topping. But the crust and all tasted really good despite lack of topping. They have Peroni on tap if you prefer a real Italian beer as well. Looked like busy place so if you are going for dinner I would recommend to book a head a couple of days prior to your visit. Can't say much about the dine in experience but the restaurant was very lively for 8pm on a Wednesday when we came to pick up. We ordered a calzone and a VIP mushroom pizza. There are a lot of Italian restaurants in Brighton, and to be honest with you, they are all just a bit 'meh'... Nothing outstanding, nothing really that great. Until now. I don't really feel that I can properly articulate how fantastic the food was. Real, authentic Italian grub. VIP have their own farm in Italy, and all their food and ingredients are sourced from there. They make their own dough, bread and buffalo mozzerella, as well as providing a wide selection of cured meats. I've never been to a Pizzeria where the dough is just as good as the topping! We often get two courses each and a drink each for about £30! You can't go wrong whether you order a pasta dish or pizza. Bruschetta is a winner for starters. Come hungry as the portions are huge! I was told this has the best pizza ever, in the history of all pizzas. The recommender was a big pizza lover, so I took him on his word. A wide range of pizzas available, as well as salads, calzones and pasta dishes. My friend was right about one thing, the dough was really good, but the toppings were quite rustic and had a very much hand made look, scattered as opposed to arranged. That's OK though, the mozzarella was really good quality and the cured meats platter was excellent. However, both my and my friend's pizza had a topping missing from each of our pizzas, cherry tomatos and olives. Otherwise, pretty good pizzas. read more

When I studied near Brighton I went to VIP almost once a week. The diavola pizza is absolutely AMAZING!!! The employees are nice but most of the tieeme are very busy. When I went during slow hours the employees were sweet and gave me advice for my upcoming trip to Italy. Fab pizza place ticket away near the pier. Obviously popular as we're got there early and it was busy even then. Loved all the groceries displayed on the shelves and above the counter - gives it a very authentic Italian feel. My kids wanted starter and then pizzas but looking around I thought they'd struggle to even finish a pizza! Nice thin base, great toppings and I was delighted to find Aperol Spritz on the menu! Fantastico!!! Absolutely delicious authentic pizza! I spent 6months in Naples and can confirm their pizza is like eating straight out of Napoli! Delicious fresh ingredients, highly recommend adding buffalo mozzarella as a topping on the pizzas. Just so yummy! There's nothing bad to say about this place- brilliant service, fast efficient friendly energetic staff. There was a slight mistake on my boyfriends pizza which was brought out by a waiter from a different table but before he could even say anything our tables waiter glanced over and said- no that's not right and corrected it immediately. Also try the Affettata pizza if you are having a hankering for something much more sophisticated than pepperoni pizza. The liguini di mare is one of the best seafood pasta I have had in the UK. Not to forget desserts, tiramisu aside which is brilliant, try out the baba rum. Baba rum is not easily available in Italian restaurants in UK. First Time in Brighton, first time to VIP Pizza and was a real great experience. When come inside the restaurant you can brith straight an Italian traditional atmosphere. Staff is professional but easy at the same time. You can enjoy the food and a pint of Italian beer in a great environment. Francesco was so kind and happy to explain us everything about food and the quality of it. I bought them hand made oven bread and hundred grams of Parmesan to take away. Very nice. Ah! I like this place but it's hit and miss, sometimes very good, sometimes average but one thing you can always rely on is the miserable staff. I really hate it when they spray and clean the tables around you when you're eating, common sense is to spray the cloth with your chemical cleaner. read more

Don't expect it to be like any Italian margarita pizza, but a good retake of the original. It's an oblong pizza with a subtle taste of sourdough. The serving size is quite generous for one person. The side was crisp and chewy and the sauce was well balanced. The rest of the pizza crust was unfortunately soft. Not sure if it was because the pizza was served on a plank of wood and the steam from the hot crust made it soft. Still each bite was good. The triple desert sampler was huge. Of the three, I mostly liked the slice of caprese. Tiramisu and ricotta cake were good but their taste was overwhelmed because of the stronger flavorIng of the caprese. The restaurant's interior had a quite pleasing rustic look. The staff was great. It was highly recommended by my hotel and I think it does live up to its reputation. Came into today as we were told the food is very nice. Unfortunately, we never got to try it. Within 2 minutes of being there, we got snapped at by a waiter. He told us to wait, which we were. My boyfriend put his things down on a chair as it was clear we could be waiting a while and he had a lot of things with him. The waiter shot us a surprisingly dirty look, and snarled at us.
