So glad we came to eat here. Saturday May 29th 2020, we came from California on a road trip and this is the first place in 3 days that I had good food. Our waitress and all the staff was so kind, fast service, and the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and salad was delicious! I normally don't order chicken at restaurants especially steak houses, but I did and was not disappointed. My husband ordered the club sandwich it looked amazing he said it was really good, I should have taken a bite. The place should be an amazing restaurant, it looks good, is in the right location, right on the river however the food absolutely sucks. I have had several steak dishes, fish dishes, appetizers, several pasta dishes and sandwich dishes. There is no flavor and no technique in making the dishes. so much of it is canned or frozen not fresh. Something as simple as Cesar salad which I was guaranteed was a Cesar wasn't right it came out as a house salad with watery Caesar dressing on it. I have tried this restaurant quite a few times and have to say I have never been impressed, the food has never been freshly made or good. A little tip. Hire a REAL chef!!! Morey's never disappoints! I frequently go to Morey's when in town for work and have never had a bad meal. Monday night sushi is always good but you have to get there early because they do run out at times. The blackened prime rib is awesome and you can't go wrong with the fillet if you are looking for a steak. They have a good selection of beer and other beverages to top it all off. The owners and servers are always friendly. The outside seating area is a bonus, especially in the summer. read more

Went to this steakhouse for my birthday dinner. The booths were nice and our server Trisha was very pleasant. We got mussels and ahi tuna for starter. Mussels were dry and tough, the tuna was great. Asked for a sparkling wine and I received a Moscato. Where we were seated we could hear the expoditer on the food line. We had placed an order for rare steaks before a table of 10 had placed their order. That table got their food first. When the server went to check on our food the expo stated that our food had been sitting there because they weren't sure if they should send it out (hot food always goes out first in good restaurants and especially when you're spending 50 dollars on a steak). The food arrived, the New York strip looked great and the prime cut rib eye was very skinny and fatty. Both meals were very cold. Given all the circumstances I asked to speak to the manager, which isn't something I normally do. The man who was managing that night came over with a very unwelcoming attitude and did not introduce himself so I do not know his name. After explaining everything that had happened to him he just blankly looked at me and asked what he should do about it. Good management is usually authenticly apologetic and offers solutions. I asked him for just hot food. He brought out a a semi warm potato first and said that he just wanted to make sure I got hot food as it came out. A good restaurant knows how to time their food so everything comes together. The steak came out hot and he asked me to cut into it to make sure the cook was right, which is great, and it was cooked correct. The steak was still skinny and fatty and I would not recommend this as a good buy for the cost. He never came back to check in but our server did and she did great. Got a free dessert for the birthday, which didn't really want, but we got a strawberry cheesecake which was not great and pretty mushy. Not the best birthday experience and definitely not the best dining experience either. Better management is needed and I hope the owner fixes this accordingly, maybe more training is needed. I've been there three times. They ruin my steak every time. They serve the worst Prime Rib I've ever had, and Their cuts of meat are not good. We've left large tips for the waitresses and it turns out the owner is taking the largest portion of them. I don't see him waiting on tables. My friends and coworkers have decided not to eat there again for that reason. Waitresses make about $3.50 and hour plus tips in Idaho. Sushi was great! Got the "Cindy" and we will order it again. Others at the table got chicken fried steak, a hamburger and rib eye. All looked and tasted spectacular. I ordered the Shrimp Carbonara expecting....you guessed it, CARBONARA! However, I was served a spicy tomato, onion and cream sauce over penne and shrimp. I even asked the server, "Is this carbonara?" Yes, she said. The description on the menu said, "..a spicy carbonara sauce with loads of chicken or shrimp." I expected bacon or pancetta, cream, eggs and Parmesan cheese as the "carbonara" sauce. Maybe with some pepper flakes for the "spicy" component. Wrong, wrong, wrong. I attempted to eat it and the level of spice prevented me from finishing. I brought it home. Morey's is absolutely amazing in a town that is sorely in need of more than fast food. We were attracted by the huge sign rising above the business district, and we were pleasantly surprised. We visited yesterday. We had a group of 13 people and were able to try a large sampling of their menu. We tried shrimp carbonara, prime rib, New York steak, sauteed shrimp, and the special chicken marsala with crab and shrimp. All of these items without exception were fantastic with generous portions of seafood in the pasta. The prime rib, was cooked to perfection rare as ordered. Sorry, If you walk in and they tell you they are short handed, turn and leave. We just had one of the worst experiences at a restaurant in Burley, ID. My husband and I ordered a prime rib dinner and a New York steak dinner. 1. It took forever to get our meals, 2. They were cold when we got them. 3. My husband asked for a fork, and our waitress said she'd get it right away, and then went to get another customers order. He finally got up and went to get one. 4. When we told her the food was cold, she left us sitting at the table with the promise she'd see what she could do. She never came back. We finally went up to pay the tab, and she said "oh I'm sorry the best I could do is give you a $5.00 off coupon for your next meal. 5. And then to top it all off, we paid with Discover and all we had for a choice of tip was 20%, 25%, or 30%. For the service on an expensive meal like that she didn't deserve the $5.00 off coupon she gave us. If you want a good steak don't go there! And not give us a choice on how much tip to leave!!!!! Always wanted to try this place and finally got the chance. Very nice place and right on the Snake River. The portions were good sized. My wife and I ordered 14oz ribeye steaks, and the kids had Mac and cheese and shrimp basket. Both steaks we ordered medium rare and came out rare and stringy. For the price it should've been cooked right. Kids meals looked and tasted good. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would rate higher but the steaks were off. For evening fare in Burley, ID this is one of the only restaurants without a drive-thru. The night I ate there, the steak was excellent and the sides were simple, but satisfying. I got the New York Strip Steak cooked medium with a side of steamed broccoli and house salad. The steak came with a pink center (good) which yielded cooked juices when cut (good). It was seasoned well and required no additional sauce. Everything I expect in a steak. The broccoli still retained an appropriate amount of firmness (good) and the salad was simple, but refreshingly crisp, which I ate without dressing (ok, maybe I'm weird to like salad with no dressing). Service was timely and friendly, tho, the restaurant wasn't very busy at the time. The meal cost $25 plus tip. I would definitely recommend and go again. read more

We came in for a hard day of travel as we are making our way across country to our next stop. Our waitress not only forgot the soup , she brought my husband filet mignon late and was over cooked. He had ordered medium rare it came out medium. The second steak that was brought out was ultra rare and stringy . My husband is a chef and has worked with Wolf Gang Puck on numerous occasions. We told her it was fine because it would 20 minutes for her to bring another one out and we were not going to wait that long . However she forgot the soup which I had order and I said no to it because our meal had already come out . We understand kitchen and staff could have some rough days but not like this . I was talking with my husband and she comes running back literally are you ready to pay for the food right now before I was given time to reach for the check . I said please give us a moment . I took the money out handed it to my husband even though service was really horrible , steak was wrong and soup was not brought out . We still being nice left her a tip. I went to the bathroom and came out looking for my husband . My husband had told me he was going to pay the waitress. He went to pay her and she was ignoring him talking to someone else so he took the check and cash back to the table . I walk out of the bathroom and the waitress in a very aggressive tone says we did not pay our bill. I said excuse me yes we did . My husband went to pay you , my husband had just walked out of the bathroom at that time and said he had left it on the table . Mind you we left her a tip and it was in cash not credit card a 20 dollar tip on a 60 dollar bill . A thirty percent tip because with us knowing that some days it's not a good day at the restaurant. Wait staff should be most respectful to the clientele period. , I own two store and work all over the country with music festivals and more and I would never treat a paying customer or even act aggressively to a customer the way this waitress did. When you have employees like this it gives your Restaurant a really bad rep . That employee is representing your establishment and for that employee to make a judgement call and act that aggressively to a customer I would have fired them on the spot. Everyone no matter how they are dressed or talk should be treated with respect. With a bad taste in our mouth from the actions of a waitress who needs to learn to respect people and the fact that our food was not to par. Makes this a restaurant we would never ever send anyone. I give a no star and will tell people about the actions of a crappy service wait staff at morey's steak house in burley Idaho and a kitchen staff that does not know how to prepare a steak. The owners of the establishment should straighten their employees up . Tonight was my daughters birthday and we mad a reservation at drift inn long story short they told us they couldnt accomadate us. so we called Tracy at Moreys told him we had about 20 people he told us he was busy but to come on in. First of all when we got there they were packed because they had a party there with the national guard. But he had set us up a table and gave us excellent service . Thanks Corrie and Tracey and Guy. We were "stuck" in Burley on our way from California to Jackson Hole. the front desk suggested this Snake River front restaurant because we wanted to see the water. RIGHT on the river with seating outside on a grassy riverfront property. Good martinis, draft beers & excellent burgers were just what we needed after hours of interstate construction traffic. We've been coming to Morey's ever since they opened and will be there again on Monday. The staff always makes us feel welcome and the food is fantastic. Easily the best steakhouse in town. The atmosphere is wonderful and Tracy is always trying to improve. Recently they opened their new enclosed patio. During the summer they open the huge garage doors, so it's like you're eating on the bank of the Snake River. When it's cold they close the double paned doors and you can sit in a warm environment and watch the snow fly...truly a magnificent place to go. I've seen some of the other comments and I don't understand the ones that complained about the food. If you don't like what you got, bring it to their attention, they'll make it right. read more
