Most of all do not use this company they will give you a lower price most likely but you get what you pay for. You want a Surveyor that would actually take the time to do the job and an engineer that has a credibility with townships. My wife and I are more than thrilled with the service that we received from Morgan engineering. We had a close on our property in a very short period of time. Because of all the bad weather, they were a little backed up on getting all their surveys done. Once we told them our situation, they got us in right away and was able to get our survey completed and we were able to close on our house on time. I am torn to write this review, but am driven by the objective of ensuring that people understand what they sign up for. I had extensive interactions with Morgan Engineering for nearly 2 years. I sincerely appreciate Matthew Wilder and Dan for the work he did for us and helping resolve some challenges that we faced on the project. However, the turnaround time for their deliverables was abysmal. They often cited that the artifacts were pending drafters. I am not sure if why they did not hire more drafters if they had such a big queue, but the bottom-line as a client, I had to follow-up every single day because my project was stuck. I tried to keep the project moving so that Morgan Engineering was not in the critical path, but in the end, i believe that they caused us a couple of months delay, which translated to a significant amount of money in hindsight. I only wish they were more responsive to clients. So, if you do signup for them, be aware that they are slow to respond and be prepared for multiple iterations because they do not come to client site and work only at their desks, far removed from ground situation. read more

Avoid these FRAUDS! We used them to do the survey when buying a property in May 2020. It took them 5 months to come and mark the corners, and only after we asked for that part of the money back for service not rendered. On June 2021 we found out that Morgan had changed and backdated the survey, keeping same date and CAD number, but changing the boundary and fence location. They did not notify us or the our real estate lawyer who had recommended them. This is simply FRAUD and we are filing a complaint with the NJ licensing body and may proceed with a malpractice suit. Their incompetence and outright fraud is costing us over 10K in moving the fence and landscaping. With their dishonesty, they deprived us of information we could have used to negotiate these costs before the closing. When confronted, their so-called engineer David VonSteenburg claimed that his changed survey was the right one all along -- even though we and the title company have in possession the original document. The company owner Frank Sadeghi was rude and dismissive, and proceeded to tell our neighbor that they'd change it (the boundary? the survey?) to whatever they wanted -- no matter what we, the paying customers, thought about it. Then two large white guys showed uninvited unannounced on the property to "mark the boundary". They wouldn't leave after I repeatedly told them to leave as they were trespassing, and were unwelcome. They told their company that I had threatened to call the police on them -- which I would not hesitate to do since I was feeling threatened in my own home by two random pushy creeps. But way to try to intimidate then use charged language against an ethnic female by the sexist xenophobic racist Morgan j3rks! Not sure why this company has negative reviews as I had such a positive experience with them. I was referred to them by my brother as he had a positive experience as well. Scheduling was very smooth as they understood I was trying to close earlier. The surveyors showed up on time and got the job done and we're very professional and corteous. Pricing I thought was very fair in the mid 700s and I was able to get the survey within a reasonable time as well. I even was able to get them to apply some revisions that I needed. Overall had a great experience and will use them again in the future if I purchase another home. read more

We're professional builders and have dealt with a at least a half dozen surveying firms in NJ over the last 25 years. Most are decent or better, this one generously gets a "Not Good" rating. Terrible, non-responsive communication and nearly 3 months to finally get a survey for a 50 x100 level lot with easy access, what another yelper described as a "non-remarkable" survey. We tried Morgan on an attorney recommendation since they're offices are in the same town as the survey. Plenty of other firms out there that are willing to do the work, take your needs elsewhere. read more

This is the most dysfunctional company I've ever dealt with, and yes I have had encounters with companies like AT&T, Comcast, Chase Bank, and United Airlines. They are awful, but Morgan Engineering is worse. My lawyer's office had called around asking for lead times for a last minute residential survey, and Morgan out of Toms River NJ said they could do an emergency survey in three days. Great! So I paid for the survey (seemed a little high, but the going rate, I assume) and the clock started ticking. I received the final survey 17 weeks after payment. 2 days shy of 4 months! 4 months for a completely ordinary, unremarkable, residential survey in Middlesex county. Think of that. That's literally 40 times longer than their original commitment. The final document looks ok as far as I can tell, but it came so absurdly late that I can't give them even one extra star. I also don't understand why they needed three different trips to the property to produce one survey--it's just an ordinary wooded residential lot. It's not just the delay, it's how they handled the communication--with silence, stonewalling, and complete apathetic disdain. I kept contacting them, eventually to the point of calling or emailing every day. Occasionally, maybe every two or three weeks, I would get a limp response like, "I apologize for the delay, we are just backed up right now", "I'm trying to get the crew out there tomorrow to finish," "We will let you know once we have more information." Then crickets again: no change, no progress. When I finally started demanding my money back, they suddenly discovered it was not that difficult after all to produce the final document, but what a miserable, draining experience, like pulling teeth. If you are a prospective customer, run. If you are associated with the company in any way, for your own sanity please withdraw to a safe distance from which you can enjoy some popcorn and watch this dysfunctional mess implode. read more

The screwed it all up and claimed my garage was on a bodyshops property next door. Of course I produced a accurate survey that proved they were incorrect. If you can avoid it, go with someone else. I used Morgan Engineering for the survey when I was buying my house. There is nothing out of the ordinary about my property. In fact, Morgan Engineering had already done survey on the property three years earlier when the sellers bought the house. Getting them to come out and do the survey wasn't a problem, but it took weeks of them dragging their feet to actually create the drawing and distribute the finalized document to everybody. Literally every other document was in place to my mortgage lender for two weeks before they bothered to finish the survey. It took constant bugging from me and my lawyer for them to do what I was paying them to do. Not worth the stress of worrying whether a simple property survey will hold up the closing. read more

If I could give them a 0 star rating I would. I purchased a house that the previous owners had a survey done by them. Since the survey was done back in 2014, 3 out of 4 survey stakes were removed. I contacted them and asked if they could help me and come out and re-stake the property. I have placed 6 calls to this company and every time I call, I get someone new and they always say that someone will call me back to assist me. I have yet to receive a call back. I finally got an engineer on the phone after I refused to hang up. He told me that I needed to send an e-mail with the job # and someone will get back to me. I sent the e-mail that day and it has now been 10 days and still no response. DO NOT use this company they are lazy and have terrible customer service. I would not recommend this company. I'm sure there are other companies that can do the same job more efficiently with less hassle.  3 1/2 weeks after I paid their invoice of over $1,200 for a land survey, the crew showed up to survey the property.  They only walked 1/2 side of the property before sitting in their van for a while, then leaving. Surprisingly, our certified survey arrived in the mail shortly after - however 1 1/2 feet had been taken off our property (as compared to the prior survey). We called to ask why the difference occurred and how they even completed a survey without walking all the way around the yard.  The surveyor said he would "make things right."   Then, the same crew came back out and walked the other half of the property. About a week after that, a new crew came out and said the prior workers didn't get proper numbers and they needed to re-do them. Throughout this time, I was asked at least three times to pay my invoice, and I kept reminding the office I paid in full almost a month before the first person ever showed up.  I also asked the office once in writing and twice in phone calls to give us advance notice when the corner markers would be set as we were told they wanted to walk around with us and show us the markers.  Of course, zero notice was provided when they showed up again at 8:30 a.m. one morning.  We will not be using them again. read more

Needless to say the closing is delayed and the closing on our new house is delayed with the moving truck in route. It has now been six weeks since we had our survey completed and paid for and still have yet to receive the survey. This has caused significant delays in our project. Throughout, there have been no status updates. When I follow up there is little information other than they are working on it and want to be able to provide an accurate survey. Rude surveyor. Didn't care to hear a thing my wife told him. Walked all over fresh dirt/grass that was just done over a 2,000 dollar job leveling the yard now with half inch sunken in work boot holes all over. Dug up my neighbors yard didn't care to put any of the dirt back in the hole. Nonetheless showed up unexpected no appointment banging on the door 7:30 in the morning. Morgan Engineering seems to take on too much work and not be able to deliver as promised. At the time of payment, I was told there would be a six week lead time. It has been 8 weeks and counting and Morgan Engineering's office can only tell me "My file is being worked on" and will not commit to a completion date. As a co-owner of a small business I understand the strain the pandemic has created but if there was a sliver of doubt that Morgan Engineering was going to be able to produce my drawings as agreed upon, it didn't show when they took my payment. Just an Idea, maybe don't make your clients pay IN FULL prior to the start of work if you can't keep your schedule, it makes people feel like they've been robbed. read more

The customer service could be better. I had an issue where they had to come back, and it took about 2 weeks or more for them to come back and place a 4th corner marker on my property. I emailed them about 2 times so they could come--got no response, and so when I tried calling instead you could hear the lady's annoyance in her voice on the phone. I had already paid for the service, and so I guess rudeness was ok then? I don't like to make waves but this woman was rude and didn't hide her rudeness either.
