I had Tom and his guys come out to my mothers place and install a 4 zone system that covers a lot of ground. The dirt there is mostly rock and it's a nightmare to dig in. I never heard a negative comment from any of his guys and they finished the job much quicker than what I thought possible. They always showed up when they said they would be there. The work they did was high quality and they made learning the controller very easy. Mom has had zero problems with any part of the system. I enjoyed having Tom and his crew at moms house and I highly recommend them to anybody who mentions a sprinkler system. Hope this reaches many people who need sprinkler systems! read more

I've used Morning Rain several times over the last few years, and unfortunately this most recent experience with the owner was the worst service I've ever received from any company. He called before arriving and immediately complained about how difficult it was to find my house. I stayed on the phone to guide him in--despite the fact that DoorDash comes here daily without any issues--but he grew frustrated and seemed unable to follow even simple directions. When he pulled into the driveway, he refused to get out of his vehicle because I "had a big dog," even though this same company has been to my property multiple times every year for sprinkler service. We pointed out where the main valve was, and instead of doing the job he was scheduled for, he told my daughter to "forget it," saying it was too difficult and that he had three other jobs to do. This appointment was set by their office, not me. Because I wasn't home at that moment, he called me rude and said he wasn't doing the job at all. I told him to leave my property since he had been disrespectful from the start. He began yelling, so I hung up, and he even called me back afterward, which I did not answer. Overall, extremely unprofessional behavior, unnecessary attitude, and zero accountability. I will not be using this company again and would not recommend them based on this experience. read more

Since moving to Puyallup I now have a big yard to care for including an irrigation system. After calling around for quotes I finally went with Morning Rain. First visit was last November where they came and blew out the pipes for Winter and did a great job. Today they came out and did my spring tune up to switch the system back on. A pipe repair (identified during blowout) and faulty sprinkler head. Again a very great job and zero complaints. Highly recommended. read more

I was contacted by Morning Rain via a mail advertisement about a spring sprinkler tune up. About a month after requesting the service, two men arrived at my house unannounced. I was fine with that but would've liked a heads up that they would be arriving on a certain date to make sure it worked for my schedule. Fortunately I was home for the service call. Tom the lead tech called me outside and told me that he didn't know how to operate my sprinkler control unit, because it was a "cheap unit" from Home Depot. He then tried to sell me a Rain Bird unit for $250 plus labor and I politely declined that offer. I never did see Tom doing any work besides looking at my control unit, but he did leave supposedly my old sprinkler hardware scattered in my front and back yard and also on my front porch. I believe this was done to prove he completed work on my system. Either way it was totally unprofessional to leave a job site in the manner in which they did. I've since inspected my system and found a few stations not working. I called and spoke to Tom and he said that he fixed everything that he was able to and didn't have any additional hardware on his truck to complete the job and his advice was for me to go to Home Depot and purchase hardware so that I can have it readily available in case I have additional problems. That's probably a good idea because I'm certain I can do a more professional job than Morning Rain. The icing on the cake was receiving a bill in the mail for $260 for an unfinished job. I called these guys because they were the first business that popped up online for sprinkler repair in my area. It was an 80 degree week in April and I just seeded my lawn so I needed help ASAP. I spoke with Tom and honestly the impression that he gave me was that he was too busy to deal with me and he seemed annoyed. He did however string me along for several days via texts saying he'd get back to me and try to pencil me in his schedule. After several days of him procrastinating over texts he finally went radio silent and stopped returning my texts. I ended up having the work done by the other local sprinkler service because he kept putting me off over and over again. Although I didn't have work performed by him I'd say his customer service skills are lacking particularly in the area of communication and follow through. read more

We selected this business because of the brand of our system. The first visit was fine. They walked through the system and got things corrected and updated. They stayed in communication on when they would arrive. A week after the service was complete I noticed that the area around the new sprinkler box was constantly saturated. My initial thought was that there was a leak near the foundation and that was of course a big concern. I called the company and spoke with the service man about the issue. He said, and I quote, "Hey, I don't want to call you crazy or anything...but I doubt that's happening". I'm not sure what lesson in customer service trains you to call your customer crazy when they voice a concern, but I didn't appreciate being called crazy for a legitimate concern about water around the foundation of our home. They agreed to come out to look. My understanding was this was a follow up to service for an issue with the initial service. One week later we get ANOTHER bill for this service to check on the issue from the initial service. I called the owner who proceeded to yell at me about "just wanting to get things for free!!!" and to "PAY FOR SERVICE OR I'LL SEND YOU TO COLLECTIONS!!!" Followed by "CALL SOMEONE ELSE if you have a problem!!!" (This is the only thing I agreed to in this whole conversation). He yelled more, tried to hand me over to his staff for the conversation, yelled more in the background as I talked to the staff, then got back on the phone to yell "PAY YOUR F&$#ING BILL" and hang up on me. Needless to say, this is the WORST customer service I've ever experienced. If you want a company that stands behind their work and puts customer service first I advise you to AVOID Morning Rain. I do not expect free service. I DO expect a business to stand behind their work and not call a customer crazy for having a concern following service. We will pay the bill, but hope that you as a consumer will benefit from our experience and go elsewhere for your needs. read more

We have used Morning Rain for a number of years and while the technicians were always polite and respectful, the company owner, Tom, was anything but. Each year I requested that they call a day or so in advance so I could be at home to allow them access to the sprinkler controller which is in my locked garage. Every year they call to let me know they are in the area and will be here in 30 minutes or less. Some times I was home to get the call, and other times not. When I was not here, I was forced to wait weeks for them to come and activate my sprinkler system. Not the best circumstance when your lawn and garden need watering. Today, I was called by Tom And told they were near by and if I was home they would be here in 30 minutes or so. I said that was okay. I was in the middle of cutting my lawn when he called. When the technician came I had only a few hundred square feet left to cut. After giving him access to the system controller I explained I would be finishing cutting the lawn and would like him to notify me when he was through the first 3 of the 6 regions. He said he would. A short while later I was drenched because he turned on the 5th region, exactly where I was working. I would have chalked this up to a funny mistake, but there was no response to my yelling to him to turn the water off. Then I see this unknown person walking down my garden path and coming to me. I asked who he was and what he wanted. He said "I'm Tom." Then he proceeded to tell me that he no longer wanted me as a customer. This floored me since we were his customer for more than 10 years. He offered no explanation. For his remarks! At this point I was upset because he was on my property without first showing us the courtesy of telling us he was here. He had to have seen me cutting the front lawn, but made no effort to notify me of his presence. I have one idea what caused him to act as he did, especially without explanation. He then left in his vehicle and the technician left in his truck. Needless to say, the job was not completed. This company has consistently been difficult to deal with and I wonder how they stay in business. Frankly, I am glad to not have to deal with Morning Rain in the future. While the technicians generally n Knew what they were doing, the owner clearly needs lessons in courtesy, respect and customer service. If I could give them negative stars, Morning Rain would get a minus five rating. read more

I contacted Tom last year for winter blow out service. The young man that came was professional and did the job quickly. When I talked to Tom, I was told that I'll be on the list for spring service. Well they didn't come. Also, the Pandemic hit. I figure, everyone was hunkering down. I called and left several messages in June. He didn't return my call. I asked my handy man to turn on the system for me as the grass is getting yellow. There were damage to the pipes from the cable company. So, the system was turned off again. Tom finally call me back several weeks later. He told me it's my fault that I wasn't on the list (when he told me back in November that he'll put me on the list). Anyway, if you are not on the magic list, then to just come out to turn on the system cause 120$ per hour. That's fine with me as I still need the job done and the cable company is taking forever to fix the line. When Tom's guys show up, they fixed the leak. I told them the water seemed to be running at low pressure. They reassured me it's fine. They've look at all the valves and everything is in working order. Two weeks later, my front yard was flooded. I asked another company to come out and there was another large breakage point (from cable company) less than 10FT from where they found the leak. Not only that, the back yard's valves where all leaking. Several of the sprinkler heads were burry under the grass. I texted Tom the pictures and he never reply. Interestingly, two days after they received my check. They call me about an error on my check (I guess to get their attention, $$). I told the person about my issue and not happy with the service. She told me she'll let Tom know. Still have not heard anything from Tom. I will not go back to Morning Rain. Sloppy job. I was told by Tom and the guy that came they are really busy. I'm fine with you being busy and people can get a sprinkler head, hook it to garden hose (like I did) to water stuff until they can fix our system. But, don't charge full price for a half-buttocks-job! read more

Went through heck last year trying to keep out grass watered last summer! It even sometimes took me and my wife an hour last summer after working all day to keep our yard and flowers alive! We live on a corner lot in a new development called tahaleh in Bonney lake and after calling many lawn sprinkler companies, we researched his past installs and had the owner come out to give a quote. Due to the hard rock under the small amount of soil used to build our new house, we have to take extra care and seems like more water. We knew adding a sprinkler system was a MUST to enjoy our yard this summer and take camping trips without worrying about dead grass and flowers due to the heat. The owner is very nice and knows this business. His crew arrived in a few weeks after a bid was agreed and they did a awesome job! Morning Rain did a "system start-up" for our sprinkler system. We have had other companies before who charged as much as six times as much for this service. They went around the yard with me, fixed broken heads and lines, raised sprinkler-heads that needed it, and re-directed heads that did not cover the right areas.
