They encouraged me to come and visit the daycare and bring the kids. We went on 3 different occasions prior to signing up. It was the best thing ever! The kids LOVE going, they get up in the mornings and look forward to seeing their teachers and friends. It is more than a daycare, they are warm and loving, they also incorporate learning into the programs. Everyday my kids come home with crafts, and stories about their day. The staff is outstanding! There isn't enough good things to say. I tell everyone that is looking for a good daycare about this place. I encourage anyone that is looking for a good, clean, fun daycare to give them a call. The teachers were very caring and responsive to all our concerns. We received quick responses for all our queries. We diligently received daily log books for the kid's daily activities including food intake and sleep quality. The teachers were always thoughtful and verbally gave us daily updates about the kid's day at the time of picking them off and were at the door while welcoming them in daily. Regular Instagram posts also gave us a peep into what the kids were doing on a daily basis. One major advantage is the cleanliness of the place. The Montessori is very clean and well maintained. We would definitely recommend First academy if you are staying in and around Cornell, Markham.

(we went to the one on Steeles & Alness) The staff absolutely loves kids, and has a very high level of experience. They go above and beyond for the kids and families. The teachers have been there forever, showing that they have truly built a great community and staff. My oldest still comes by to say hello because of how much she loves the staff. The food is healthy and carefully prepared by their amazing on-site cook. There is a great program for education that is heads above most daycares that are glorified babysitters. The facility is always clean, fresh, and full of positive energy. They are a standalone building with strict safety protocols and a large dedicated outdoor playground. The staff is highly responsive and responsible. They know each parent and child by name. As someone that deeply values building little kids up (mind, body, and soul) this place does a wonderful job, and anyone would be lucky to have their kids go to this daycare. So we were happy when we enrolled our 3 years old child there. But from the day 1 we saw warning signs. We withdrew on day 3, which cost us the whole month fee of course. This is another story (to loose 1 month fee) because most day cares have visit days before you enroll. They don't. The warning signs: no one welcomed my kid properly, no one sat down to her height and made eye-to-eye contact with her, asked us about her, and her interests or made any effort to involve her in the class or with other kids. We left her for half an hour, she waved happily bye bye and started to play. When we came back, found her sitting alone crying, no one was near her or comforted her. From that moment she never wanted to be alone there. Which is not like her. She is used to being at day care since 1 year old. So we never knew what happened. The teacher said she missed you and started to cry. But I, personally think no one paid any attention to her, at all. Maybe i'm mistaken but we didnt find kids very happy or playing happily or full of energy. Teachers controled and the restricted them all the time. We let our kid play with slide in the backyard and almost all the kids came to us warned us with fear that it's forbidden to play with slide and you are not allowed. In one of the 2 hours days I was there, I found new student (a toddler) crying nonstop for 2 hours (without exaggeration), we saw no real effort from the teachers to make the poor baby distracted or comforted. There are couple of other things which we didn't like, some of them was personal so they may not apply to others, and some of them were just small but the whole package seemed to be a big deal. (like time between lunch and second snack, is sooo long, or you HAVE TO agree with them posting/using your kids picture online/public/ everywhere) We found another daycare and it took my kid 2 days to trust them after that experience but they were so loving that she is now very happy there. Despite the money we lost, it was the best decision not continuing with reggio kids.

I literally signed her up on the spot. She didn't want to leave and after coming with her on the first day for an hour, she pushed out the door, on her first full day and said, 'go Mama'. I've never seen her more comfortable before in an unfamiliar environment. I genuinely feel they have taken the best care of my daughter in the 1.5 years she attended. I feel like she got 1 on 1 time with teachers on a regular basis, she often came home with braids in her hair or her hair redone after a nap. She learned so much and grew leaps and bounds thanks to her caring teachers. Kate looked forward to pre-school everyday and it was emotional for both us when she graduated. My son will be going to Maple Seed Montessori as well in the coming year. Thanks for being a wonderful place for my child to learn and grow and a place I feel at ease taking them to, knowing they are well cared for.

Our daughter didn't have lunch and didn't pee at all for the first two days. The teacher told us this, but the office lady (one of the owners) said, "they all didn't eat in the first two days. " Finally we decided not to go with this one after the first two days. The office lady said they won't refund the one-month prepay (Just for two days!!!). She even thought of keeping our deposit. Worst experience at all. Be careful. This lady mentioned this day care as "business". She kept repeating "We cannot do business that way".

The leadership is transparent and works with parents to get the best education and care for the children. Both my kids went to this daycare and I am very thankful for all the teachers who worked with my kids when they had behavioural problems, working together with us to solve any issues. They helped shape my children into better humans and I'm eternally grateful for all their hard work. They offer concentrated music, art, French and Yoga classes, occasional special activities like a bubble show and my kids were excited to attend. The space is very clean, and quality of the food is amazing - overall, you won't regret sending your kids here, and my only worry now is that my expectations for future teachers may be to high as I now have a very high standard to compare to.

She later comments that my son and other kids cry a lot (as I notably observed many many tears across all classrooms visited) since "he had never been away from family, going to school". I replied, you assumed and never asked me this!?. He in fact has been in US daycare for a year now!! We proceed to think our son would be mixed up in classes and his progress reports would be about other kids not actually about him!!!
