I left messages and no one calls back. Before that I could not get an appointment when I was having trouble with my meds and needed adjustment so I did it myself. I'm now on a waiting list but asking for a referral to another doctor in Roseburg. I was told that none of the doctors at Asante have any spots available until next year. I don't feel I have a cardiologist. If my meds are not renewed, we will have to get an attorney. For me, it's life or death. They just do not care.

His sutures look like a 2 year old sewed them, with very LARGE scar on a little pacemaker. I told him I like to wear low cut tops, so he put the pacemaker at my clavicle so its visible with a high top shirt even. After being treated poorly for 2 years I transferred my care to PMMC. Even the cardiologists there thought a weird placement for the pacemaker, and a very poor suture line. I am not alone in my thoughts. I took my husband with me once, he couldn't believe how rude the staff the was towards me.(esp in the pacemaker clinic) Since it was new to me, I wasn't used to the feeling when pacer kicked in and thought my heart was having PVC's. They treated me like I wa a crazy person, and wouldn't make me an appt to see the Dr. The Nurse Practitioner told me it was the blood going by my inner ear that was causing the PVC feeling in my chest. (okay sure) When I went to PMMC, they explained the entire thing to me (2yrs after having it) I have NEVER been treated so poorly by a medical professional, EVER! And I have been an RN for 35 yrs! One would think a little professional courtesy would at least be in order, but NOPE! I was treated like I was a homeless crazy nut. (especially by him and his nurse practitioner) I do NOT recommend Dr Martin or his Staff at Rogue Valley Medical Center. If they treat a fellow medical pro in this manner, how do they treat someone who has NO knowledge of what is going on? I feel sorry for the old ppl that go to him, and the vulnerable. In addition, after the procedure, he went out and told my minister and a church elder, he had a "hard time putting me out due to my drug use". WHAT? I was prescribed pain meds for scoliosis, a degenerative disease of the spine (gets worse with age) What business is it of his to tell that to my church members? I was appalled that I was treated like a drug addict and rumored to be one in front of my pastor. His notes on my permanent record also reflect his opinion, so wherever I go now will read his personal opinion which should be objective, not subjective HIS conclusion of prescribed meds "makes me a drug addicted homeless person" was humiliating. I am neither! I have NEVER been treated so poorly in my 60 yrs of living. I will NEVER set foot in his office again, and do NOT recommend him as a physician, certificate or not, he is very unprofessional. He will NOT be replacing it. Due to various circumstances, even though I live in Southern California, I ended up getting…read morepneumonia and empyema, which led to an infection and pleural effusion with infected fluid in my right lung. I ended up being taken care of by my parents in Medford while taking antibiotics, but since they did not fully cure the pneumonia and empyema, I went to Asante Hospital for treatment. Eventually, I was recommended to get lung decortication surgery--basically to clean out the lung that still had infections causing ongoing issues. Since I was young (around 36 years old), Dr. Carmeci gave me the option of whether I wanted to deal with the empyema now and have an almost guaranteed good lung outcome, or skip surgery and hope it healed on its own. Due to recent stories about younger people getting pneumonia, I decided to go with the surgery--especially since I had already been on antibiotics for almost a month at that point. I thought Dr. Carmeci's team did a great job getting me in and out, and providing clear information about what to expect during and after surgery. Despite it being relatively short notice, I was even able to get moved up the schedule so I could do it before I changed my mind. After over a month of recovery, I felt basically as good as new, with some post-op pain and discomfort. My empyema-related lung pain on my right side was basically gone, and I have to thank Dr. Carmeci for strongly recommending the surgery. Any follow-ups were with his nurse practitioner, Kathryn Hardaway, and I had a great experience with her as well. I got an X-ray a few weeks after the surgery and then again about 8 to 9 weeks after. Anytime I had questions about whether I could travel back to California by plane, how long I should wait, or if I could travel to Japan, she was quick to give me answers--either on the phone or through the chart messaging app. It's nice to have people in the healthcare industry who have great response times and give good advice. As of almost 3 months after surgery, I feel almost as good as new, minus some lingering inflammation. If anyone has issues with pneumonia or empyema in the lungs in Medford, Oregon, I recommend going to Asante Hospital and potentially getting care from Dr. Carmeci's team. The surgery was minimally invasive and really helped me get better.

This happened over a long period of time. He got me stabilized me with my chronic pain & I have maintained being stable until recently. The Dr i was going to for the first 9 years here in Newberg was wonderful until she retired. I was switched to a Dr that didn't seem to care about what was going on with me or ok my prescriptions on time & I would have to wait a week or 2 before he got around to it. Now I have a Dr that told me in my 1st visit with him that he wouldn't take away my medication yet here he is doing just that. I want my Dr O‼
