Parking is free, but space is tight and it always astonishes me that there aren't more accidents. Sainsbury's reputation for being pricier than the other main supermarket chains is entirely justified as far as I am concerned a weekly shop here always costs me more than it does when I visit Tesco or Asda. Unfortunately, the location is very convenient for me (see above!) The store layout is good and things are rarely moved around, which is a definite plus. The token non-food sections (clothes, toys, books, stationery, audiovisual etc.) are not particularly impressive and personally I'd rather see the space given over to a wider selection of food. Sainsburys. Reassuringly predictable.

However I was too busy to notice that the replacement items' price is less than the items that were out of stock but they still charged me the original price, I realised it when I received the products. Also the rice wines had no expiry dates on them and some of the items' expiry dates are only three to four months away which for instant noodles is not that much. Everything else is fine, it came at very reasonable time and package is good.

There is a kiosk near the front of the store for cigarettes and lottery tickets as well as a photo desk and cafe. The store has a huge range of non food items which include toys, entertainment, electricals and homewhere items. They have huge displays near the entrance for special occasion such as easter, christmas and halloween. They have a fishmongers, bakery and deli counter to get all your fresh food produce and aisles and aisles of food and groceries they only thing they don't have much of a range of is frozen food, they have a good amount to choose from but i think your better off going to another supermarket or specialist frozen store ;like iceland because this tesco only has 2/3 aisles.

This is a very large Tesco Extra store with extras onsite including a pharmacy, opticians, Direct,…read morephoto processing, clothes and a cafe. Considering it is so large what always surprises me about this store is it is very relaxed. The high ceilings and glass front make it very light and airy. It is quiet so if you want a large choice but don't like cramped and busy supermarkets this could be a good compromise for you. From Monday to Friday it is 24 hours so you really can turn up whenever suits you. The range of products is very good and as the store is airy the size of the place doesn't over awe you so you can mosey round without missing anything. This relaxed feeling seems to spread to the staff too. There is plenty of parking and always plenty of trolleys/baskets to hand. As it is a Tesco I find some items can be a bit pricey compared to other supermarkets in the region.

Tesco Extra at Toton is a well designed modern supermarket with ample parking. The store is a good…read moresize while not being too overwhelming and has a more welcoming feel to it than many other supermarkets. The non-food departments contain a varied selection of goods at excellent prices, while the food sections of the store are well stocked and easy to navigate. My only complaint would be that the system of switching to self-service checkouts only after 10pm (i.e. there are no manned checkouts available after that time) is a bit of a pain if you are visiting alone and have a huge trolley full of goods that you have to process all by yourself. Other than that, recommended as a relatively stress-free place to shop (well, as stress-free as supermarket shopping ever gets).

Anyway... who knew this was here? The Tesco Express is not near the centre of town, in fact it is in a residential area, however, it is a store you should know about for when 24-hour ASDA is not actually 24-hours (don't get me started on this one) and you need to get a couple of items that absolutely cannot wait until your usual store opens the next day. Parking is a bit of a hassle as this place is always busy! There is a car park at the back of the store and parking along the street. I think only once did I go in and not find what I needed. I will say that I find it expensive. Things that I would normally get a Morrisons or even Sainsburys are more expensive. Guess you have to pay for that kind of convenience. However, very important for that 'in a pinch' shop.
