Came here in October 2022 and it was fine - better than the reviews lead me to expect. $3.75 for a wash $.25 increments for dryer (est. about $1.00). Quarters only. A few washing machines were marked out of order but most were working. I had no trouble with the one I picked except they don't have numbers so I got confused and couldn't find my clothes at first. Simple number decals wouldn't cost much to add. Agree it would be helpful to have signs indicating how much time you get for a quarter on the dryers. I put in 2 quarters, came back to still damp clothes but 1 more took care of them. Start small, I'd say. You need quarters and you can either bring them or get them from the change machine. I wish they'd take credit cards or use an app like payrange or have a kiosk where you can get tokens but they don't. I think I spoke to the owner and he said the price of converting to that technology would be too much right now. So bring your quarters and your $1s. It was clean, no issues there. Located on Monterey Ave. in Morro Bay - small attached parking lot and street parking. Liquor/convenience store about a block down the street if you need a beverage or snack. This laundromat is pretty great! Very clean facility, high tech fully functional machines. They take quarters, cards, and have a change machine for cash. This time though, there was a doo doo stain on the toilet in the bathroom. No bueno! But hey, nobody's perfect. The cost is outrageous. If you can find another laundromat that doesn't charge $3.50 for a regular wash and $.25 every four minutes to dry, then avoid this place. Furthermore, the place isn't kept clean. There ought to be an employee on-sight to ensure that the change machine is working, that all trash is picked up, and that the counters are kept spotless at those prices. Laundry O Mat...been here since the first settlers hit the shore. Old, tired, and in need of some love for sure. Probably pretty safe, last load in by seven, doors locked at 8. Not much better or worse than the joint over on Quintana about the same price. Small tub 3.75, medium 4.75 and jacuzzi 5.75. Dryers hot enough to shrink the girlfriends blouses 25 cent for like six or seven minutes. It's easy enough to open the dryer door to check dampness and keep 'er goin if need be or try your luck with another quarter. Ah ya know its a pain in the... Traveling so have to use this service. We chose this one since when in Morro Bay last time it was decent and clean. This time it was terrible. Several dryers are out of service. The dryers that are not marked out of service don't dry! We had to switch to one that wasn't working after putting in over $ 2.00 (turned off after 5 min) to another that barely worked. The doors don't feel very hot when using the highest temperature. It took quarter after quarter and still not everything dried completely. This place is a rip off! I will not come back. The garbage cans were all full so this place doesn't get checked on very often! read more

Great fast, new washers and dryers that take payment by card or quarters. A few older top-loading washers are also available. Facility was bright and clean. They have a free parking lot and the neighborhood felt safe. The only glitch we had was that the soap vending machine required quarters and couldn't take card payment. So if you need soap-bring some small cash! The change machine worked fine. read more

The owner spends countless hours maintaining such a large mat. People need to realize that some customers are disrespectful of his business and often damage expensive equipment. If a flash of irritation is seen...that would be from the lack of appreciation for him and providing a clean well maintained business for everyone. Walked in to wash a large comforter - and business was clean inside and appeared well maintained. Looked like all/most of the washers and dryers were working. Found an open large capacity washer - option to use coins or credit card which was nice. When wash was finished used quarters to dry. Waited around while wash/dry was going and there were several nice customers who came and went dropping off and picking up their laundry. read more

The customer service is horrible. I called to verify store hours and service per pound if offered. The individual who answered the call said," what do you want... this is not the day to be ******* with me. I believe he may have experienced technical difficulties because he could not hear my questions. When I called back I met even worse of an attitude. I hope the person who spoke severely out of place finds happiness and strives through whatever difficulties they are living. Since moving to Morro Bay in the Summer of 2019, I frequented this laundromat consistently. It was a decent place to wash, mid-high $, dirty at times, a few busted machines...not perfect yet doable. Today, I have confirmed that (after multiple washes, $$$), the owner DOES NOT provide hot water in the washing machines - at all. NO HOT WATER. This is what we pay for and we get zero back. To make matters real here, I am dealing with an atypical Morro Bay nightmare flea situation that requires repeated HOT water over multiple washes, over a period of weeks (and this CONTINUES - - to rid of the eggs, larva etc.) The use of hot water is a stated requirement. Over the last month, I have repeatedly tried to contact via calls and texts with the owner, Bill Austin - - only to receive no response or responsibility taken, or even a refund. Today, I went to do the wash again, hoping it was a glitch, no hot water... so I asked the owner again and rather then fixing the problem, Bill was rude, mean and completely deflected and ignored the problem. Instead of providing a decent service of hot water for his paying customers, he scams his customers to avoid paying gas bills. Further, he is unprofessional and unkind to his customers. The choice is yours to give him your business or seek another location. read more

The place initself is DIRTY & just plain FILTHY !!! Another huge issue is as when I placed $4.00 in FALTY washer. I called phone number posted Only To have man on the other end of the phone tell me "OH WELL!" When I complained & was seeking to have my $$ refunded !!! There should be a dedicated pet washing machine or a rule of no pet beds/blankets. Today there were no wipes available (first time). I used 3 of my own wipes from my vehicle on just one section of the washer and called it quits. So Disgusting. Sucks because I waited a half hour for the big machine only to find out it was absolutely gross. Foam and pet hair. Eeew. Keep it clean or at least provide wipes for people to clean the dirty machines for you. read more

Just a typical laundromat. Only problem was that there was no sign saying how long 25 cents runs the dryer. We errored on too much and had to rescue our clothes as the dryer continued to spin. Next time I'll stop at $1.50. read more

A lot of the machines were out of order and the driers kept opening and my clothes would pop out. A little annoying.

We are traveling from out of town, and we were beyond disappointed with this business in such a wonderful community. Every washer smelled like mold, had dirt around the edges inside, the floors look like they've never been cleaned, and the prices were outrageous. I come here once a week to wash my clothes and have never had any issues. The facility is used by many people and has a board in the back with flyers for around the area. It's within walking distance to a few stores and fast food restaurants that you can easily drive to and eat while you wait for your clothes to wash. read more

This place is TERRIBLE. No bathroom. A sink that is tiny and looks filthy. No outlets to charge devices while you wash clothes... I am here for the second time and again, half of the top loading wash machines are broken. I had 3 loads to wash but someone beat me to one of the machines, so I had to cram the 2 warm loads into one (it was still too small a load to fit in the larger washers, and I don't have time to wait for the 3rd machine to open up). I had to use the 2nd available machine for my cold/delicate washing. The warm wash machine became unbalanced, and I went over to open the lid and a man standing next to me snapped "The mahines lock during the cycle, you can't open it until it's done." (Which ALSO means you can NOT add fabric softener to the loads...). I said I needed to balance the machine. He said "You should have balanced it when you loaded it". I said "You should have more than three top loaders working so cutomers don't have to cram clothes in". He looked at me like I was crazy. His old craggy face got brigt red and he started arguing about how there are other larger machines: pointing to them like I'm an idiot or blind or both. He was rude as hell - and aggressive about it too. I wasn't about to explain that my load neither fit into the larger machine, nor did I have the extra money to spend on larger machines. If you have a row of machines they should be functional!! Some people only wash in certain sized machines. It's not a difficult concept to understand! And if you have smaller machines that are all broken and you expect customers to then use the next larger size because you refuse to fix the smaller ones, that's bait and switch and wholly unethical. It's simple: you offer a service and you do it right and you show your customers respect. This man just came by to empty his quarters out of all the machines and he left. He did not sweep up the dirty floor, mop up spills, empty dryer lint traps - he did NOTHING to maintain the laundromat. (If you dry your clothes here it takes FOREVER because he doesn't empty the lint traps!). Sadly, the only other laundromat in town is similar: lots of broken machines, dirty, no outlets to charge devices or even a sink (forget a bathroom!!), seems like they just come through to collect the money and don't really maintain it... A lot of business owners in Morro Bay that cater to low income people act like this man did; they have zero respect for thier customers and even seem to despise them. I have traveled all over this country and I have used countless laundromats. In small towns and big cities. Providing a bathroom, a functioning sink, outlets, working washers and dryers are all pretty basic functions for the proprietor of a laundromat. Most places I've traveled get that. Many laundromats even have attendants which deters things like these Morro Bay laundromat proprietors think they are preventing by having no bathrooms or outlets. To take out basic services from your business because you hate homeless/poor people AND are too cheap to hire an attendant, then you are an ASS. Yet in Morro Bay expecting those simple services - a bathroom namely - is like asking for a handout. Plus this man was incredibly rude and hateful. He was pleasent to the white retirees in the laundromat, but rude to me (the sole Black woman) and didn't say hello or even smile to the Latino customers in here. DON'T come here!! Since Morro Bay seems to have zero options for decent laundromats, I've been told by locals that it's well worth the 10 minute drive to Baywood / Los Osos. It's a much bigger town, and apparently they know how to have decent laundromats there! That's where I'll be heading with next week's washing. The closest laundromat to the tourist strip, they gouge $2.50 per standard wash. The least they can do is stock the soap vending machines. Though, they'd probably gouge for that too. Get soap at the nearby Albertsons. Change machines were very finicky. read more

Both laundromats in Morro Bay are pretty awful. I give this one 2 stars rather than 1 simply because they do at least respond to complaints. If a machine is busted, which unfortunately is often, they will send a refund promptly. The laundromat at Quintana and Kennedy won't respond or refund you. It'd be great if one of these two businesses would get their act together because I'm ready to start driving into SLO just to avoid these places. read more

I don't come here very often anymore, as I now have on- site laundry. Though, I have a king sized bed and it's nice to not spend the whole day washing it. I feel like this laundry mat gets the job done. I even once forgot my clothes.. oops.. and I came back the next day and they were there in the back safe and sound. There is an attendant available most every time I come. The price is expensive, but I will pay for convenience. The coin machine is slightly difficult and one side is usually broken. . There tend to be broken machines most of the time too... It would be nice if there were snacks in the vending machine, but the liquor store across the street works. There is soap available but I am picky and bring my own. The area is kept clean, including the bathroom which is nice. There is a very small lot and ample street parking. Don't worry there are roller carts if you go with the latter. read more

Well, I liked the place for the most part. Clean, enough washers and dryers to go around (at least when I was there - its not huge, but ample). There are a few seats, and a real rarity in a laundromat, a magazine rack, even if everything was from 2005 (Bush is no longer trying to salvage his presidency, it's over thank goodness). There was an outlet another traveler and I were able to use to charge our phones while we laundered as well. My only disappointment came in that the dryer ate HALF MY SOCKS! I put in four pairs, and what came out was one pair and two randoms. I effectively lost three pairs of the four I put in. I checked both the washer and dryer over again to make sure I wasn't missing something. Nope, it ate 4 of my 8 socks. Boo. I charged my phone a little extra time, feeling I had earned it after $2.50 for a small load and now having to replace most of my socks since I'm on the road. The owner should clean out the lint traps and hold a "free sock giveaway day.". read more
