The casita had everything we needed for a relaxing stay with kids, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere made traveling with our family so easy. The hosts clearly put a lot of care into making sure guests are comfortable. We will absolutely be back the next time we're in the area. A few folks who seem to live in some of the rooms, skanky folks in & out @ very late hours. Disappointing & SAD!

We passed by it and immediately wanted to get a room after seeing how cute it was! So, we called, asked about any openings they had, and they had 2 rooms available so we asked for one of them. It all went downhill from there. Upon arriving, the door was locked. I suppose this isn't that big of a deal, but you are to call the number of the inn and ask them to open it up for you. We checked in, got our key, and immediately regretted it. This place is not just dirty, disgusting, and filthy; it also flat-out smells. Not to mention the place is just...creepy. The entire b&b just smelled grotesque. I couldn't quite place it -- maybe a combination of old, used cat litter and something rotten? The place was dirty, stacked high with old magazines and newspapers, the carpet was absolutely the most disgusting carpet I have ever seen. And it doesn't stop there! The room we got was the White Lace room, and it wasn't much cleaner than the rest of the house. The curtains were dirty, the bed was creaky, the shower was moldy, everything had obviously not been cleaned in a while. The bed covers were absolutely disgusting, like genuinely felt gross, sticky, and dirty to the touch. The room was cute, but gross. The creepy part was that the room key is the same as the front door key...so, yikes. It seemed as though there were some long-term residents there, one of whom had their door open and was coughing and hacking...ew. The guy kept talking about ghosts, which we were just not into. Not to mention the service -- the guy made a comment, and asked if me and my long-term girlfriend were sisters. We just nodded and agreed, as we're not from around there and just weren't really sure what reception of us being gay/queer would be. But what a presumptuous comment to make. So, after all this, and after we put down $200 towards this awful room, we decided that no way were we staying in this bedraggled, disgusting room. We left. We were there for no more than half on hour, and I am not exaggerating. So here's the real kicker; the owner of the b&b called us, claiming that we had left "disturbing stuff" in one of their showers. Again, we were there for no longer than 30 minutes. We didn't even use the showers. It was obviously a gimmick to get us to pay even more money for "damages." We froze our card (just in case) and didn't take their calls. Out of all the nastiness that went down at this place, this was the thing that left the worst taste in my mouth. Anyways, because this place hasn't had a review in over a year, I can only imagine that whomever stayed here has been silenced with financial threats, like claims of leaving something nasty in the shower. Either that or they have been silenced in other ways. I don't know, but I would never in a million years recommend this place. Go literally anywhere else.

Their wine and craft beer selection is second to none, offering everything the discriminating palate could desire. Very small but clean little playground for under two year olds. The fake grass is clean and neatly…read moretrimmed. The real grass around the area is also a great place for older kids to run and expel extra energy. This place does not have any swings or monkey bars but to keep a tiny tot entertained it's worth a visit. Some of the neighborhood kids sit around a gazebo with their phones and are well behaved. As you can see in my pictures this place is very very tiny so don't come here thinking you will spend hours, more like an hour tops. Definitely a good spot to have a quick picnic lunch!

It's just behind the main strip of downtown Arroyo Grande. There's a parking lot that turns into a farmers market on a certain day. It's not a big park but does pack a punch. You're greeted with the gazebo which was what we saw walking by. Then theres a bridge that crosses from the park to the other side to the neighborhood. Looking down from the bride, there's a little creek below with what looks somewhat like a trail. Not really for hiking but I'm sure a walking trail. There's stairs that will take you down to the creek area which is covered in greenery. I'm sure there's loads of mosquitoes so be prepared. The park, quaint and cute. Not majorly big but does pack a punch with its size. It still pretty mellow even though on the side is the main road with shops and restaurants.

This quaint little park, which is a delightful added attraction to Arroyo Grande's Village…read morewonderful Saturday Farmer's Market at noon, provides a pleasant spot for a break or a snack. There are a few benches and even picnic tables, that make it easy to eat some of the offerings from either the Farmer's Market, or some of the nearby locals stores that line this amazingly serene village. There are a plethora of restaurants, a coffee house, an ice-cream shop, pizza places, "vintage" ole school butcher, & baker/ Eclair Shop. There are also a ton of cool antique shops, gift shops, vine tasting shops and more. You can easily spend a good part of the day exploring this unique area & it is far more quaint than either downtown SLO or nearby downtown Pismo. This old restored cool slightly scary swinging bridge is rather unique [a capacity of only 5 people & was originally built by an land owner without any rails!] and leads one to yet another little park [ Heritage Square which has a small children area] on the other end [where there are also sometimes some community events]. There is also a local historical barn museum [ South County Historical Society ] complete with a model T & ~100 year old tractor/printing press & more, on the other side. The bridge overlooks the waters of AG creek and there are paths which hug this quite lazy serene creek. They are rather hazardous, since the fence is composed of fairly rotten wood...so please use caution. There are stairs down to the creek area at least two points [ one is at the little known Kiwanis Park {also with a few picnic tables & a creek view}, which is right next to the cool historic Arroyo Grande Bridge] along this back Olohan Alley. Off peak, you will see alot of colorful semi-wild Roasters. At the center of this small park, is a charming rotunda which sometimes has live music for those in the area for the Farmer's Market. While sometimes you can also find Artwork for sale in this area, it varies as does the vendor selection. There are some steadfast regular local AG, or other farmers, who come here almost every Saturday at Noon, year round. Some do the huge Sat. AM Farmer's Market in SLO @8AM [in Madonna Plaza near the Dollar Tree] first & then come here to sell the rest at noon here. While sometimes you can find baked goods here, you can always find freshly baked Eclairs, cupcakes, bread, and more at Eclair bakery just two blocks away. You can also frequent the amazing 100+ year old AG Butcher shop and either get their signature housemade smoked products/sausages, or get a fresh huge Tri-tip sandwich to eat in one of the nearby parks....like this one. Needless to say, AG village is home to a nice eclectic assortment of restaurants and shops that are so pleasant and enticing. In general, people here are very friendly and the whole place seems almost utopian...except it does cost money. Fortunately, prices are quite fair in general. Centennial Park is one of the many great cool features in AG Village that makes this area one of the local favorites. This park also has a cool history and even contains a time capsule to be opened in the future. The seemly "indigenous" rooster population is somewhat of a mystery. The local newspapers think that these guys have been abandoned here. They usually do not bother anyone and do add some color, mystery, and character to this area. I must have been here a zillion times, but only now I had noticed that I could not find a listing. While this could be redundant, I apologize. Thank you & please enjoy! BTW- On 8AM Wednesdays, there is yet another AG Farmers Market, but it is way down on Grande Ave. in the same Plaza as the Dollar Tree & Smart & Final.

Who would know that a park & a trail are "hiding" in plain sight,…read moresmack dab in the virtual middle of the City of AG, & is only feet away from AG's Saturday Farmer's Market? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Coolness factors: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1) Serene break from the hub-bub above. 2) A Mini-Valley within the valley. 3) A fair number of areas where the stream "Babbles". 4) About 4 wooden picnic tables with BBQs on the stream banks. 5) Heavily forested with tons of greenery. 6) Has a trail from one end (under the Vintage Bridge), under the cool swinging bridge, all the way to under the Mason St. Bridge. 7) It seems to go hand in hand with the "topside" Centennial Park, where AG's Roasters "sing". 8) Few people use it, so it is a peaceful place...(on a Saturday afternoon) 9) Lots of greenery which is hard to capture with pics alone...it is worth a careful walk thru. 10) It is interesting to see the undersides of these very interesting bridges. ~~~~~ Uncool factors (with some suggestions): ~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1) Some, likely kids, have carved or wrote graffiti on some of the trees & have littered. The type of defacing public property & nature is especially horrid in such an upscale neighborhood. Ideas: _______________________ A) Renovate the old Hoosegrow Jail up the hill to accommodate errant kids, or another venue to "scare them straight". B) A longgggggg visit to California Men's Colony, with a hefty fee of lets say $1k+, for the parents would be a very practical idea. The fine could be on a sliding scale. C) Several weekends of "cleaning duty" of the park while wearing neon pink jumpsuits & giving speeches at local schools (along with listing their family's surname) would likely raise public awareness & possibly theirs. D) Use special hidden "wildlife" detection cameras to catch offenders. _______________________ 2) Some hazardous areas of the trail have broken & rotting fences that someone...especially either the younger or older crowd could potentially fall a dozen feet or more. A) The park could use better community support. After all, AG is a high income area, & some of the area schools could sponsor nature hikes along with cleaning duties. The combo of awareness, money, volunteers, peer pressure (including on adults & parents), could help. ______________________ 3) Sadly, there did not seem to be any "life" in the stream (i.e. fish, frogs, etc..), it is unclear whether this is due to seasonal water flow changes, pollution, or other factors. It is hard to makes suggestions in this case. ~~~~~~~~~~ In summary, For both locals & visitors alike, this park is a nice alternative to having an impromptu picnic from Farmer's Market goodies or take-out treats from AG Village shops. One can easily imagine getting a Tri-tip or other sandwich from the AG Butcher Shop, some fresh Veges & Fruits from the FM, & some Cupcakes/ Eclairs from their quaint bakery. Or simply get take out eats from the surrounding restaurants. (There could also be some sort of honors system donation box at the entrance).

My dog had a great time playing catch, and it was so nice to come on a Sunday and basically have the entire area to ourselves! There are day use sites available with barbecue grills, and picnic areas, with lots of shade and seating options. This place is awesome and I can't wait to go back again with my dogs asap!

For years we would stay at the Backbay…read moreInn across the street from the Baywood Inn but the Back Bay Inn became run down and in need of a facelift, plus the prices for the rooms increased significantly! We started staying at the Baywood Inn in 2025 and we stay in the Baywood Village Inn which is a fairly new building! The view facing the street is of the bay, Mirazur (a restaurant with friendly staff and very nice outdoor ambience with their fireplace and fire pits) and basically the main street. Everything one might need is in walking distance. Right next door to High Street Deli! The really special thing about the Baywood Village Inn section, is that it is very clean, has a great sliding door that opens up the entire wall of the room, complementary coffee, water, soda drinks and snacks, plus a great complementary breakfast next door at La Palapa. If La Palapa isn't available each guest gets a $10 coupon for coffee/breakfast at Nautical Bean which is right across the street. The front desk staff and the cleaning staff are excellent and they do a fantastic job at welcoming each guest. We live in the Bay Area and visit Baywood approximately 8 times per year and after our first visit at the Baywood Inn, we decided to book our stays with them! Oh yes, and I can't forget to mention the amazing fire pit in the back of the Village Inn. Great for sitting around in the evenings and having a happy hour drink!

This is our 3rd visit to Baywood Inn. We love the hotel and staff. We would have given them a 5…read morestar rating if it weren't for the entry door issues. After 6pm guests must use their room key cards to access the hotel. You tap the keyboard on the door to open. If this does not work you must enter the code on your card to open the door. When our tap did not work we entered the code 4 times and could not get into the hotel. We only got in because a hotel guest inside saw us and let us in. We reported this to the staff who were aware of this situation and were reporting it to management. We are disappointed that this has happened on our last two visits.
