Super easy to use, opted out of helmets, but acknowledging the bike hits top speeds of 20mph, I suggest grabbing them next time! Walked in with no reservations as my son wanted to really rent an e-bike on a Sunday morning. The gentleman helping my husband and son was very accommodating and friendly. We liked that they had an hourly rate and that they had many types of bikes and sizes including helmets. The bikes were also well maintained. This has been the third consecutive year we have rented E-bikes from Cal Coast. The individual helping us, which I assume to be the owner (as he has helped us the last three years) is absolutely welcoming and a great host. I was looking everywhere for a bike rental and it appeared the closest was SLO. I stumbled upon this place and I am so happy I did. The staff is beyond friendly and helpful. I explained how I needed a trailer for my dog, and they immediately brought down the perfect one for my dog. From there we signed a waiver and we were off. We rode around the Morro Bay rock, explored the beach area on top (that staff told me about) and came back and rode around town. This was the most inexpensive e bike rental we have ever done! The bikes were absolutely amazing. They had two seaters for children to ride with their parents. We had our kids an 8 year old and a 11 year old and we rented the double seaters! We rode all around Morro Bay, we originally got one hour and ended up staying for two! BIKE TO MORRO ROCK We rented 3 bikes for an hour, just for some exercise and a fun little ride to the rock and back. $10/hr per bike for regular bikes, not sure how much the e-bikes were because that would defeat the purpose of our rental, but I don't know, never tried an electric bike. After being on this multi day road trip, it was nice to get up and moving and enjoy the fresh Morro Bay air. Some of the trip was on a bike path but most were on the road shared with cars so if you're driving, watch for bikes. Recommend! read more

I was coming in for the weekend and had a small window of time to give surfing a shot for the first time. At first I looked for other options because they only do private instruction it was worth the extra! When I called they followed up and Hannah was really great with communication. They explained what to expect to me. Noah , my instructor called when he arrived and the entire process was simple. Noah was such a great teacher! He was kind and let everything simple. After about 15-20 minutes we're we're in the water. I was excited because I thought there would be a ton of instruction and there was a lot of practicing. Noah was so kind and fun and really encouraging. Every picture we took he was raising his arms up cheering for me, even if for two seconds before I fell. He was really good about asking if I was ok when I fell or got hit by a wave. Then giving me pointers on what I did well and learning about the feel of surfing. I'm not sure I could do it on my own, but he assured me that I had graduated and was ready. We'll see, I'll probably visit Noah again next time I'm in town to have his guidance. This was the best experience I could have asked for! read more

They keep them operating well and the tour was interesting to learn more about the area. The e-bikes (we had the specialized versions) were on point. Cal Coast Adventure is the place for e-bikes in Morro Bay! The wife and I decided to get out into Morro Bay and explore, so we reserved some non-powered bikes online at Cal Coast Adventure. The next morning when we arrived, there was a problem with availability (I am 6'4", so frame size was an issue) and the staff were amazing, getting us upgraded to an e-bike in no time! They turned an unexpected problem into the most fulfilled day! Great e-bikes, newer and well maintained, and so easy to use. The staff went over the bike and gave us great tips for beginners. Did not take us long to hit the street and the hills, and the e-bike made the whole experience so easy and effortless. We zipped around from the Morro Bay State Park, all the way to Morro Rock. The rental cost was reasonable, the bikes worked perfectly, and the staff were friendly and helpful! If you have not tried an e-bike, you are missing out! read more

We rented E-Bikes for two hours today and had a great time exploring Morro Bay. The owner (I didn't catch his name) couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Rode the Embarcadero down to Morro Rock and spent some time watching the sea otters, thousands of ground squirrels and seeing all of the hoodoos out at the rock. Debated between the group and the private electric bike tour- given covid and the relatively minimal difference in price decided to go for the private electric bike tour and happy we did! Very friendly staff in the bike shop helped to get us set up and send us off on a test ride. The moment we started the test ride I realized I need to purchase an electric bike- it was so much fun! Being new to electric bikes the biking experience itself was so much fun, but the private tour was equally wonderful! Sarah was so nice and friendly, helped to guide us through the neighborhoods and along the coast of Morro Bay, telling us more about the town as we rode along, and offering to take photos at scenic viewpoints. She also had water bottles for us and made sure we had a chance to use the restroom partway through the tour. Super awesome experience! I have been wanting to learn to surf for several years, and finally decided to make it happen this past summer. I did tons of research on the right place to book a lesson with, and ultimately landed on Cal Coast Adventures. I'll tell you right now: look no further! Nate was incredibly patient, understanding, and helpful and I got up on the board several times! There were plenty of wetsuits (with a few options picked ahead of time that should suit you) and a board perfect for beginners. Nate has 12 years of surf instructor experience and as a Los Osos local is the perfect person to guide you with wherever you are at on your surfing journey! He was swimming in the water next to me the whole time, and thus was able to help me navigate the waves, get used to being on the board, provide several tricks to suit my skill level, and be an overall great coach! 11/10, this is your one stop shop for all your adventure needs and a requirement for the outdoorsy types coming to visit the Central Coast! read more

Excellent way to spend an afternoon. Went thru the rental process online (super convenient) and showed up to rent two electric bikes, for the day. Really nice guy helped us out- explained everything about the bikes and made sure we felt confident before we just headed out to play in traffic. Super busy weekend at the rock and the wife and I decided to rent E bikes around noon on Sunday. Went on line to make reservations and had issues. Called the location and Nathan was on point! Took my information and looked up my transaction and called me back in 5 minutes. Explained the issue and told me he was booked, but could try to make it work, and he did. Set us up with 2 of the bikes we originally wanted and sent us on our way. Great bikes, clean and no issues with performance at all. Nathan went above and beyond and was very professional with us.
