Excellent steaks, great service and a relaxing vibe. A gem in Mortdale!…read more My personal favourite is the Rib Eye, rare with red wine jus.

The…read moreexpensive hardware store or the vet next door was in Yelp before this place hahah obviously peoples mind set isn't in the right place lol This steak house is tucked away in an almost one way back street of Mortdale :)! Its close to the pub which only locals stick too & is also really close to the well known Mortdale Bike shed. People probably not aware of this place cause its only open from 12pm on fridays & Saturdays and every other day is open fron 5pm. As soon as you walk into the restaurant you notice all the old school Fire station memorabilia hung up all over the walls :)!! So the the name Fire house Grill is the perfect name for this place :). Was here at the restaurant for a mother's day dinner with the family to beat the hustle & bustle rush of the real mothers day tomorrow :)!! We ordered a mixed entrée with, ribs off the bone, tasty pork belly with a creamy slaw topping, king prawns with a crumbed cheese coating, haloumi cheese, salad with 2 dipping sauces (garlic & tzatziki). For dinner majority had fillet mignone with chips salad and dipping sauce of your choice, i had a oven roasted duck with a tasty salad and mum had the braised beef cheek which tasted a bit over cooked and dry byt all the other maibs were very nice :)!! For dessert 2 people had the mango creme Bruleé which was outstanding, my sister had a perfection sticky date pudding which is never served big enough to satisfy your needs lol & i had a freesh fruit & Cheese platter with a peppermint tea.. the perfect tasty end to a nice dinner night out with the family :)!! Really enjoyed dining at this place.. been here about 4 times now and would recommend it to anyone i know .. and must mention again that while waiting for your food to come out and if you weren't conversing it was really nice to stare around the restaurant & study all the fire house memorabilia they had to offer :)

Definitely had a hankering for some ribs and boy they did not disappoint: I got the beef full rack…read morewhich was about $29 and it was juicy, smothered in bbq sauce and super tender was falling right off the bone! I also got the Parmesan potatoes and well they were the biggest let down.... soggy and tasted like they were just microwaved - still finished them as I needed to soak up all the juices from the ribs. Lastly service was meh, we ordered a garlic bread with our food but didn't show up with our food and turns out the waiter never put it in the computer so there was no point asking for it. Also had to ask several times for water - maybe should just leave the bottle next time. Aside from the service and the soggy potato's the ribs were definitely winning and so so good! Don't know how soon I'll be back but you never know... :)

This is a fairy new joint owned by the same people that own yogurberry and one of the vietnamese…read morerestaurants along the strip (forgot which one though). I joined a group of 20+ people for a farewell dinner only arriving when everyone's food was just about done. With such a big group they managed to get the orders wrong with the schnitzel never arriving but an extra steak coming out. Being the nice person I am (ok maybe it was more the hungry person in me speaking) I just took that extra steak not wanting to waste food or get someone into unnecessary trouble. The novelty of this place is having the steak cook in front of you on the hot plate. If you like your steak rare though this might not be such a good thing as depending on what cut you get you could end up with well done steak by the time you get to the end. I thought the food was decent. Prices very reasonable and I do like novelty things! However novelties do come and go so I just wonder how long this place will stick around for.

My two friends and I went here for the second time to enjoy their novelty meal steak on the rock…read more For $14 you get to choose between a T-bone cut or a rump cut with a side of either mash potato and vegetables or hot chips and salad and your choosing of a sauce. I personally chose the rump with mushroom sauce and mash potatoes & vegetables for my side. The steak wasn't great but for $14 steak it's quite the deal. My advice for people who enjoy their steak medium rather than well done is to cut up the steak into bite size quickly and leave them on the side (they give you this empty side tray to place your meat in) so it doesn't get get over cooked and become tough to chew. And when you're ready to eat it place it on the stone again to warm it up - or just opt to chose the chef cook it rather than have it stone cooked. But where's the novelty in that? This place is really generous with their sauces as it comes out in a separate (above average) sauce bowl which is fantastic for me because I always end up asking for extra sauce. This restaurant of course offers many other typical Asian dishes along with their steak on the rock and a variety of mixed fruit drinks. Also, coming here on a Friday night this restaurant didn't have such a massive wait like a lot of other restaurant along the strip. There are plenty of parking around, though sometimes you may have to wait 5-10minutes to get a parking spot. Overall, for students out there like me who has to live life on a budget, this place is a great place to go for lunch/dinner as it's cheap and super filling.
