I was offered their service through best buy to come out and fix my TV. I have IN-Home warranty coverage and was pleasantly surprised when i received a phone call about my Tv. They called to let me know that they are only in the King of Prussia area on Mondays, and that they would need to come and take my TV, and take it off site and work on it. This would take 2-3 weeks because they need to work on it and order a part. I said i have in-home coverage there shouldn't be a need to move the tv, they told me to contact the insurance company. I also indicated per my warranty coverage that my coverage includes a plan that says I get a "loaner" tv. I can show you the document if you would like to see it. They told me i need to contact the company to request this and that they would send it to them and they would come out to install. For a company that's supposed to know things and how to fix tv's why employee morons who can't answer basic questions nor want to figure out how to fix things OR to get the answer straight. Please do yourself a favor and move on.....and get another group to fix or repair your tv or appliance. read more

My 95-year old mother-in-law's 47-inch led tv stopped working. She lives alone in her own house and that tv is important to her. I took the set to Mort's and explained the situation. Within 24- hours, they had diagnosed the problem and fixed it. They turned it around quickly because they wanted her to have her tv back asap. Brought in my LG 4k 65 inch tv in for repair. I told them I thought it was the power supply board but would like a professional opinion so I got it diagnosed. The technician believed it was the main board and quoted $400 for the repair. I declined the service. I eventually looked online for preowned main boards as well as a power supply board because I was adamant it was the power supply because it was making a pop in that area. So replaced the main board...same issue. Then replaced the old power supply board it magically turned on without a hiccup. A simple voltage test on the power supply board would have indicated a bad power supply board. WILL NOT BE RETURNING AND WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS TO ANY OF MY COLLEUGES. THANK YOU. read more

This review is for services I received about 6 months ago. I was very pleased with my experience at Mort's. Over the summer I brought a vintage console record player in to see about getting it working again. I called a handful of places in the Philadelphia area and no one except Mort's would take in the console to look at it since most shops don't have the space. Mike was very helpful and explained it would take about 6 weeks to diagnose and fix, and told me what he expected it would cost. I left a small deposit and marked my calendar. About 6 weeks later, Mike contacted me and informed me the player was so corroded inside that it would give me lots of issues down the road. He offered that I could pick it up if I still wanted it, or that they could dispose of the console. I asked that he get rid of it, and I stopped into the shop to see what they had for sale. When I came into their shop, I told Neil that I was looking for a record player and the budget I wanted to stay under. He helped me pick out a turn table, receiver and speakers (all vintage). He even hooked up a couple sets of speakers I was interested in to let me hear their differences. When all was said and done I think I spent about $350. I am very happy with my set up and have enjoyed getting into collecting records. Will definitely be back if I ever need their services again. read more

Really disappointed here. Neil, who's a lovely gentleman by the way, took our vintage player in to the shop on October 7th saying it would take a month before we'd have it back. No big deal, just in time for the holidays. We didn't get it back in a month. Every time we called we were told "next week." Finally one month turned into two and then we were told it would take up to SIX months. Since we were told no work was done to it, we asked for it to be returned to us. Unfortunately in the time they had our machine they broke it. When it left it was playing, had a few issues, but playing none the less. When Neil returned it he didn't bother to inform us that it wasn't playable anymore. When we called him back after we found out he said the cartridge was so rusted when he looked at the machine that he broke it. Well in my book if you bring something operable into a shop and return it inoperable that's just bad business. I understand that there was a major recall on some Samsung appliances that they were working on but we were never asked if it was ok to delay our work and weren't even informed that it was going to be delayed until after the deadline passed. My children had dropped my ipad and the glass shattered. Less than a week before our vacation. I called Morts and they said they could fix it. I was shocked because I thought it was done. I had it there by noon and it was as good as new by 3:00 p.m. Morts was quick and efficient and did fantastic work. I was impressed! A few months before this our flat screen broke. Mort's fixed it within a week and that is as good as new, too. I can't say enough good things about them. Excellent customer service. Brother-in-law just had his TV repaired at Mort's so when mine "buzzed" and went dark I went to Mort's, same exact set just a few months older. After 3 weeks I called and was told that they hadn't looked at it yet. Waited a few days and called back and talked to the technician. I was told that the parts are unavailable and that Panasonic was not making plasma TV's nor the parts for same. Called Panasonic support and told the same thing. Now Panasonic e-mailed me and wants me to take it some place else because they might have the parts. read more

THEY BROKE MY TV!!! Brought in a $1000 Sharp LCD flat screen for an issue with the color being darker at the top 1/3 of the screen. They pulled apart the TV and then realized they couldn't get the LED strips the back lit the screen anymore. They asked us whether we wanted to scrap the TV or have it put back together to bring it home. We asked them to put the TV back together so we could pick it up and bring it home because it still works perfect regardless of the color issue of the screen. Then THEY BROKE THE SCREEN, called us to tell us that they broke it and it's still in a million pieces and if we wanted to scrap it now! The TV worked fine when I dropped it off. It just had a color issue. THEY completely broke my $1000 Sharp TV, offered no compensation at all and then wanted to part it out for their own gain which is what they do when they "scrap" a TV! My mother goes to pick it up and they had all the internals and small parts in a box and the broken screen and bezel separate. My mother then told them that this TV belong to her son and that I requested ALL the parts be returned to me. That's when the guy at the counter (Mike) went to the back room to fetch the expensive LED strips that light the TV from within.... SO, it seems that they planned to keep the working LEDs from my TV to fix other TVs in the future for a profit. Then the guy behind the counter complained to my mother that they lost two hours working on the TV! Are you kidding me?! Did you expect to get paid for breaking my TV? Did we inconvenience you by picking up our TV that you trashed and no longer wish to have you service our product?! Is this how a professional operates?! Now I am out a $1000 TV. They cost my mother money beyond what the TV repair would have cost because now we have to go out and buy a new TV. They offered no compensation for breaking the TV in any way and on top of that they gave her shit about losing time and money on the job. Doesn't sound like they really care about their customers very much. Doesn't sound like they have good morals and believe in fixing their mistakes. I will never be back to this place. I am so unbelievably frustrated of how my mother was treated and the lack of professional service this place offered. What a loss... read more
