Space was clean, nicely decorated and could accommodate 40 guests, not sure what the other space rents for so double check with the owner. Had a very fun gender reveal party and are thankful that Just for Fun Art accepted the last minute request. We were allowed to bring our own extra decorations and food. Just make sure to clean up when you're done.

I encounter nice people, very little bad language, especially considering it usually a town of young people, lots of interesting restaurants and stores, easy distance from Sacramento and San Francisco, good theater and concert venues, several movie theaters for such a small town, a good selection of motels, car rentals and basic amenities. The weather gets pretty hot in the summer but now in June it's just perfect to me. Lake Tahoe and Reno are not that far, there are small shopping centers in town and larger ones within a half hour drive. And it's a really pretty town to drive around in. About the only thing it's missing is the ocean! I'll be sorry if my daughter moves away from this area because then I won't have an excuse to visit here and it's pretty far from San Diego to travel to without a strong motivation. I appreciate having the opportunity to enjoy it as much as I have though.

I think it's kinda pricey cause a season pass to raging waters is cheaper than that. I ended up having to come back and told them how they messed up, they were able to fix the problem and enrolled them in the right class. They were pretty nice about everything too. They offer a variety of classes for kids and adults during the summer and the prices are very reasonable. From sports, cooking, yoga, and kid quest..they have almost everything! Many fun activities to enjoy during the summer.

I like Yaymaker because of the convenience, all the supplies are there for you, no setting up or cleaning, and you come home with a cute piece of art after a few hours. Very minimal commitment. :)

I was a bit intimidated at first but with the instructor going over each step carefully, I think I came pretty close to the actual portrait. We painted a picture of a Buddha. It was my first time painting and I've never been much of an artist. My friends and I had a great time painting. They had Happy Hour prices on food and drinks during our class but we were already full from lunch we had at the restaurant beforehand. But we did have some suds, which took some of the pressure off. I highly recommend this either with friends, family, or a date. We were never rushed although we had been there for over three hours.

It was busy with lots of visitors from little kids to college students to grandparents. We went at Halloween time, so there was also a pumpkin patch. You pay at a cashier station at the front & receive a hand stamp. Children up to 12 years are $6, while 13 years+ are $4. However, for each paid child admission, an adult gets in for free. You then walk to the gate entrance of the barn area & listen to some instructions from staff about handling animals & not running, supervising younger children, etc. No food or drinks are allowed, so a lot of bottles were left in a hay bale area by the entry. We were able to get up close & personal with chicks, chickens, ducklings, ducks, geese, turkeys, goats, ponies, a calf, piglets, bunnies, a donkey, & kittens! Little one really enjoyed getting to groom the small goats with available brushes & combs. The goats just wandered the enclosed area. Most animals were in pens you could enter or reach into. There's some signage about the animals & protocols/warnings for how to interact with them, such as making sure to be sitting on hay bales while holding animals securely & closing gates. Staff went around to correct people who weren't following safety rules. You can spend as much time as you want seeing all the animals. At times we had to be patient waiting for a turn. Occasionally we saw the chicks being swapped out to get a rest from the petting. The animals were fairly docile & quiet. Apparently the animals are for sale. A hand washing station is off to the side of the barn.

They have a gift shop area and they have bug nets you can borrow.

They also boast the second largest mosquito collection -- shhh, don't tell Bill Gates! This was my second visit, this time with kids on a field trip. The collection is vast -- so extensive that they have installed rolling bookcases to house the specimens. Our 45 minute tour led us through some of the cases and then on to live specimens which included a giant millipede, hissing cockroaches, a scorpion, black widow, tarantula, walking sticks, and a leaf bug. Our group of little bookworms with ants in their pants was enchanted! The museum is open to visitors from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Wise people call first before they go to ensure the museum is available. While there is a small charge for tour led groups, the museum is free for general admission. But don't be a stink bug; put some money in the donation box.
