Sure enough, I looked it up on my trusty Yelp app and found the Tomball Railroad Depot Plaza. I had thought it was connected to one of the local parks. Little did I know that their railroad depot is a small museum, and there is a red Caboose parked nearby from the Tomball and Walden Railway that houses a model railroad. Apparently, the Railroad Depot had been under renovation for several months, and we happened to come on the first day of its re-opening! The kiddos were so excited to se the trains in action! It had several 0 scale locomotives, including one from the 1950's. There are several scenes depicting the Tomball and Walden railway and also Tomball in the early 20th century. It was amazing to me how much time has been poured out on the maintenance of these trains. The volunteer dozier was incredibly enthusiastic about his trains. He also had a lot of knowledge about other model railroaders and train museums in the Houston area. One thing to note is that this caboose was equipped with a special air whistle in the rear, that was formed through the releasing of the air brake. We didn't get to go inside the Tomball Depot, but would really recommend it. They have done an incredible job in building out a new platform, updating the Depot with new wood exterior, and getting it to its former glory. Check it out! And prepare to pull out those model trains or Thomas trains after your visit.=)

The Tomball Railroad Depot Plaza was my favorite place I visited in town and 30 minutes or so well spent. A former railroad depot, there are some cool things to check out. There's a railway train and several statues all encompassed in a park. It's a pretty park with a water fountain and more. While it isn't large, it's a nice spot to take a stroll or play with your kids. There are also some restaurants within walking distance. Right across the street.

His attitude immediately changed and he said "I don't like selling to people like you." He said it to my husband. I was shocked. How can you speak to someone like that unprovoked? My husband loves Pokémon and had a collection as a kid and it was thrown out. He was excited. My husband said he didn't like his attitude but would still give the store money anyways. He then asked for a $50 box of Pokémon cards and the same guy said he was going to punch a hole into the box with a hole puncher. My husband said he didn't want that because he wants it sealed and untouched. The guy proceeds to give him an attitude and tells my husband he can have the Pokémon box for double the price or else he will hole punch it. Honestly, this isn't the first time this place has been a disappointment. I promise you, you will meet the rudest and most pompous Reddit mod toxic a** people in places like this. The environment is unwelcoming. You can tell these people hate you. If you don't look like a liberal, have the purple hair and piercings-- these people treat you different. It's obvious and gross. If they keep this behavior up, they'll go out of business one day. Also, the owner seems to post very ugly and offensive responses to any reviews he doesn't like. That should tell you something. This place is going to shrivel up and dry out of business. So many complaints about the attitude of the employees yet the owner behaves like this.

We came in around 7PM on a weekday evening and it was still quite packed. Barely got a table for our group of 5, and we didn't start playing til around 7:45PM. Their board game library is fantastic. We played Kinfire Council, a bit of a rarer game, and it was a great vibe. Drinks can be purchased from the Tabletop Tavern connected and they'll bring it right to your table (except for the Pokemon tables which are designated for family friendliness). Fantastic shop. Great for board game, card game, or miniature enthusiasts of all kinds to make a trek up.

We've spent a lot of time here this summer and have always enjoyed bringing our kids, but the atmosphere has noticeably declined to the point where it no longer feels welcoming or family-friendly. My daughter is 5 years old, and at one point she was simply standing next to me while I was with my younger child in the 3-and-under area. We were immediately told we needed to separate. I'm sorry, but I'm not comfortable forcing my children to split up when I'm actively supervising both of them. The interaction felt unnecessarily rigid and completely dismissive of basic parental judgment. The staff also suddenly became extremely strict about outside coffee, stating it wasn't allowed unless it came from the neighboring business. At the same time, I could clearly see multiple other guests with drinks from elsewhere that were not addressed at all. The inconsistency was glaring and made the enforcement feel arbitrary and unfair, as though certain families were being targeted while others were ignored. Overall, the staff came across as more interested in policing minor technicalities than actually creating a positive, welcoming environment for families. A children's play space should feel relaxed and accommodating, not like a place where parents are constantly monitored, corrected, or singled out over harmless situations. It's especially disappointing given how much we've enjoyed this place in the past, but after today's experience, the environment has become so unpleasant that we won't be returning.

My only complaint is it felt very stuffy and not well air-conditioned or ventilated. After 2 hours of play on a hot Houston morning, the kids were flushed and everyone was dripping in sweat! "Socks only" play in the main play zone, which hosts a big structure, 2 stories, basically a kids' obstacle course. So many things to jump on, climb, and slide down, made mostly of foam and inflatable material for cushioning. Adults have plenty of seating right in front of the play zone, where they could enjoy a coffee or concessions and enjoy a mom's meetup. They have a few hot & iced coffees available to order, along with some grab & go bottled drinks. There are also a couple of private rooms for hosting parties. Came here for a friend's birthday party, and the kids (ages 2 to 5) had a blast.... They spent a pretty penny ($700 for the middle tier "Premier" package) but it included: - Admission for 15 kiddos - A face painter hired for an hour - Dance party & photos with the monkey mascot - Meal (chicken nuggets & pizza) plus snacks - Room decorations & cake cutting - Gift Bags for guests Food is pretty decent. Cute spot for fun & safe play. ...Just wish they kept the temperature a bit cooler, with so much activity.
