Music was pretty much non-existent. Art was just someone visiting the class once a month. We figured the first year or two, they might be developing, since it was a brand new school. But chaotic leadership changes and a lack of the specialty programs promised was extremely disappointing. Then the pandemic hit. And, even in the second year, they had an abysmal program that was not at all cutting edge, which you would think a Science/Tech school would be on top of. We ended up moving to CAVA for that second year and were SO glad we did. They definitely had their stuff together, since online is exactly what they have been doing all along. I was even more happy that we left STEAM when we did, as the year students returned there was a huge problem with bullying and behavior issues. Still looking for a strong in-person program for my soon-to-be middle schooler. But, definitely glad we left STEAM. Would have LOVED it if it had lived up to its promises.

I can say that we have a positive experience with my child's teacher and she really do paid attention to each and everyone of her students. (Not saying her R's 'correctly')And my cousin on my other side of the family is being bullied for natural impulses. (When he is excited he jumps). I'm truly fed up with hearing how this is affecting my family. The kids academics. Issues with SELF. I'm sad to even be writing this. But I want this addressed IMMEDIATELY. I want the bullies to be punished for their actions. Loss of recess. Having to face the walls during class. If the children's parents aren't going to discipline them, then under the adult supervision they have at school, I demand something be done. Is bullying only an issue when the kid kills themself? Is it only, then, that bullying laws come into effect? Those bullies are the reason kids DO take their own lives. If this issue isn't addressed I will take my knowledge of the laws to the district. Although I am not the parent to either child, if I WAS, you would see me in your school every single day. I would volunteer and be sure those bullies. Know their place in the world. For the parents of the bullies, I hope you know you're kids will be the reason our prisons have prisoners. I am a fed up family member, and I will voice my opinion on bullying to your district if it is not taken into consideration by the school. I don't want my family in therapy to deal with kids who have had shitty ass parenting.. those parents and BULLYS are who should be in therapy. Being taught how to treat others the way they would want to be treated.. Guarantee they wouldn't want someone bigger then them pushing them around and making fun of them, would they? what has happened to our teachers, parents, and staff?
