I slept like a baby most of the night and wasn't invited to insomniacs club that starts at 3AM. The television had movies playing on most channels which was entertaining. The shower luckily was the star of the show: good pressure, hot water, and a selection of Dove products for body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. Even the hand soap was Dove not that cheap smelling miniature bar soap that most hotels have. The lackluster of the hotel was the breakfast. The lack of variety of veg options. Two meats and white gravy with biscuits. Rates are $125 a night, and still they couldn't provide a better breakfast experience? Good thing, I brought my own breakfast and got it from Sinfull Bakery in Houston. Earl Grey bagged tea was nice, but why did they have green tea as well. We need caffeinated tea!! There's ample amount of seating when you come early. There's an HEB next door and the dairy queen down the way sells non-dairy dilly bars. Pretty okay at best.

We spoke with the manager Shavani, who really went out of her way to welcome us since our travels were not going as smooth as we expected. To our surprise, she welcomed us with a bottle of Champagne in our room to celebrate being newlyweds. During our whole stay, she really kept the customer service level consistent and genuine. Now the rooms were not the Grand Hyatt but they were next level. Shell shaped towels, good quality sheets, functioning appliances and the boutique style made this place very romantic. the town is small, so if your looking for big city surroundings, this isn't the place for you but I will say we enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend

Our recent stay - Very poor experience at this hotel. The security lock was broken from the door, stains were on the bathroom floor, dirt marks on nearly all the walls, dog food in the corner of the room, and the a/c cooled but the hotel room was extremely humid. The staff was almost nonexistent (when they were present rarely looked up from their phones), pool was dirty and the weight room was missing half the free weights and the treadmill was not operating properly. The security door on the hotel to the pool consistently failed to lock making the hotel open to whomever wanted to enter. The staff appeared to make no security checks. I understand the owner of the property may live in Canada, but for a "local" hotel as the only hotel in the city to be this poorly run is terrible.

It's part of the corporate culture of Hilton Hotels.
