This was the hardest bed I have ever slept on. 2 pillows that barely had any cushion to them. The towels were not soft to the touch. 2 bars of soap were as big as my middle finger. Our car broke down so we had to get a last minute room, they wouldn't let us check in without everyone present but we had to leave someone with the car. So we had to wait hours to check in. Secondly they don't offer late checkout so we had to sit in the parking lot with our dogs and all our stuff for the car to be ready. When I walked up to the window some lady was sitting in a Chair behind the desk in the corner eating and staring at me, but not telling anyone that I'm here. Stayed here after driving from Bend through the night, and I was exhausted. The woman who checked us in was very personable as was the gentleman we checked out through. The room was Uber basic & didn't even have blankets. The bed had a bottom sheet & a top one. The room echoed because there was so little in the room & the floor was some kind if fake wood. This was the worst stay in a motel 6 ever, and I have been across the country with dogs more than a couple times in my 52 years, and actually it was the worst motel stay ever. First we get there with the two dogs we have, that I made reservations with and mentioned them several times there were 2 and while checking in they tell us there's only 1 dog per room. So of course by that point I just didn't mention the second dog. First in all my years in motel 6's that there is a 1 dog minimum. In the old days we traveled with 4 med to large and these are small. Then my husband goes to take our garbage out and has to turn around and come back in because homeless people were in the dumpster looking for food I guess? Our car alarm went off during the night 2X's , I'm sure just because since we're moving and had to put everything in storage until we get our keys to the new house our van has all the seats in the floor blankets to wraparound stuff & move it. We are having to stay here from May 16 to Jun 12 because our house took a little longer to close and our apartment we were in was already rented.. So on the 30th I went to pay from the 31st to 12th and sure enough she tells me I can only stay til Monday. You can only stay 21 days at a time. After I had told all of them our situation. So now I have to move everything to a new motel by Saturday because I was so mad I wasn't staying long. The TV broke the se second day so luckily we had our tablets. The internet only worked about 40% of the time though. So when it's working you need to download. Absolutely the worst stay of all, and in my home town! read more

Winter of 2017 my car was covered in snow and it was already sliding around. Horrified! Yes! I have chance for the snow. Thank Goodness they look us in. Nothing fancy but lots of hot water. The actual rooms are the simplest thing ever but I could care one less peanut. All I wanted was for us to be safe. No hassles no hidden fees and the next morning on with our journey. We felt safe and bed was clean. I do not remember the room number. A abundance of easy parking and easy access to the rooms. Slept really well and I do not any thing wrong. First, the receptionist didn't want me asking why the registration is handled through an outside window instead of a lobby. Secondly, when I was told to sign for the room, I asked what I was putting my signature to. At that point, the receptionist blew a fuse. "Just sign it!" I was told. When I asked again what I was signing my name to, she said, "Oh, you know....just things like if you don't leave the room in good condition, you'll be charged extra and stuff like that.....so just sign it." When I asked to see the items she was talking about, she said, "Okay, that's it. I'm canceling your reservation. You can call the website contact number to ask for a refund!" Think about that for a moment. I wanted to see the terms of the contract, and she threatened to cancel my reservation. Look at the Google reviews and the rest of the Yelp reviews. My characterization of this place, especially the customer service part, is right in line with what others are saying. Stay away from this place, especially if you're prone to asking questions outside the perscribed parameters this franchise has established. If I could give 0 stars I would I live in northern California and have to travel 8 hours just to go to this motel 6 The first time we stayed there our bathroom had not been cleaned well. There were long black hairs all over the tub which is not my hair color so I immediately turned the shower on and cleaned it myself. My second experience We arrived at 1030 Waited till 1040 at the front desk We called the phone holding someone would come 1045 we hear noises coming from one of the unmarked rooms in the loby and we knock to see if we can find someone to check us is. So at this point we had drove 8 hrs Then waited over 15 mins for the clerk After we knocked a women came out cursing us out about how we need to wait for the clerk and we said we have been waiting and trying to call the front desk also. I asked if she worked there and she wouldn't give me and answer Hispanic woman with a child. She proceeded to yell at my boyfriend and ask why they hell we would knock on her door. We waited, we called, then we knocked on a door we thought was for employees b/c we could hear people in the room and wasnt sure if it was a break room. We were honestly trying to just get checked in so we could rest. Finally the clerk came a Burnett's woman I'm her 40s came out. By that time I was obviously very upset and frustrated. I state "there's no numbers on the door that that the lady who was first cussing us out, and asked if she worked there? " I also asked for the clerks name and the managers name they wouldn't give me any information She didn't even give me the chance to talk she automatically refused us service after we had already booked and paid for our room. We paid drove another 45 mins and paid an extra $50 to stay at another hotel. I'm beyond livid Its pathetic how rude their employees were. read more

I'm not sure I can give it zero Stars but if I could I'd give it zero Stars. The window has a permanent stain on it, but what does it matter since it looks out onto the parking lot. Hard plastic chairs formica table and linoleum floors. It reminds me more of the animal enclosures at the zoo that are made of washable materials so they can be hosed out after the animals are done defecating. The bathroom sink has a serious hair clog. This place use to be a Howard Johnson Hotel now it's a Motel 6. First off they are still renovating the place and have the nerve to rent out rooms that smell so bad the fresh paint gave me a buzz not to mention the room was 80 dollars for a two bed and the rooms are outdated. The carpet should have replace along with the raggedy lamps that don't work. I would advise you not to stay here it's not worth the money. Also found some underwear under the bed. read more

My gf went down to front office At Motel 6 Gresham to pay for an additional night at 9;00pm, to find no one in the office so she rang the bell as I assume is it's purpose. When after third ring the person working the counter emerged from the back and says ' Can't you read you Bitch.' my gf says I'm just here to pay you for another night and Quote staff replied I don't need your money. This happened in front of other guests and my gf felt very humiliated. She turned and slammed door leaving the office. I'm not sure if it's common theme of the night staff to turn away paying guests an curse at them. But I don't think this is a normal practice anywhere else in the hospitality field. And I intend on writing a very detailed review of what most likely will be my last night stay, for simply trying to pay for another night. Well you think that would be the end of it but now somehow all our room keys were deactivated. And are unable to leave the room or building without being locked out. Or locked in like kidnap victims. This went from annoyance to very unprofessional and unacceptable. This hotel gave me aids. I booked my stay with HIV and by the time i left i had gone full blown. The bed smelled like cat piss and i found a moldy banana in the shower. The bed sheets were last changed in 1968. They were out of sugar so i used some asbestos falling out of the ceiling as creamer in my coffee. read more

The most horrid place to stay. My mom got food poisoning somewhere so early evening she had used up all the towels and the toilet paper. . Called front desk and i said I do not want our room cleaned. Next day new toilet paper and they had been in room the trashed had been emptied...I called early the desk. She said maid had gone already and if we want clean towels to go upstairs and wash the towels ourselves. I couldn't believe wat I was hearing..she said she can't go in room to get supplies because of covid ..My God. So when I was asking maid for the toilet tissue the girl that was rude said whats his problem now. Again she said since I showed up I've been horrible and demanding. They kicked us out of the motel. As she's checking my mom out about a fat mexican behind glass started filming me with his cellphone. Told him to stop but continued the whole time. Despite the very nice friendly staff, I would never stay here again. First caveat: bring your own furniture! Room was naked--bed, one dresser, one (not two!) end table, one 9 square foot table and two impossible chairs! No art, no carpet. Small refrigerator and microwave were new but there was no counter space of any kind to use near them. One whole corner of the room was empty and unlit, making a very dark corner. Because of the lack of furnishings and carpet, the room echoed like a gymnasium. Television kept turning itself off when I was in the middle of watching something. The WIFI did work well and the employees were beyond nice, but the room was a big disappointment at any price. I had to go purchase a chair I could sit in, and a rug to minimize the hardness of the floor. Luckily, I had a folding table in the car, so I was able to set up my computer and have space to prepare food and beverages. read more

I had reservations at this Motel 6 on August 20, 2017 - the night before the eclipse. The room rate was $79. I asked if I could extend my stay another night. Sure, for $140! I reluctantly paid. When I returned to the motel after photographing the eclipse, my electronic key didn't work, so I went to the office. There were two walk-ins in front of me, each of whom were charged $97 - $40 less than they charged me the night before. So, they simply ripped me off. The room had no carpeting - only hardwood floors. The internet didn't work. The faucet in the bathroom was so loose that I had to hold it to adjust the temperature. It was noisy. If you want to give your business to someone who will take every dime they can grab and give you the least in return, you'll love the Motel 6 in Gresham. read more

We got this hotel through Hotwire and was expecting Howard Johnson but when we arrived, it was Motel 6. We were very disappointed! Room had a bad odor of smoke, my pajamas smelled like smoke in morning, had an inch of dirt in window sill, spider webs on ceiling in bathroom, mildew in shower, no food in vending machine, stiff pillows, carpet stains, AC took all night to finally cool the room, and mattress was squeaky. I used to stay here every year when it was Howard Johnsons. Not fancy, but fine for the price, convenient location with restaurant. This year I went back, and it's now Motel 6. I won't do it again, sorry. The room was redone I guess, the wood floors seemed cold and weird to me. There was a squished bug on the wall. The bathroom fan was like a helicopter, dirty vents, broken light hanging out of the ceiling. Just bad. Oh and no garbage can at all in the room.The floor above was so loud and creaky, maybe I am just used to being upstairs. The big thing for me was NO COFFEE maker??!! Really? Is this 1986 or something? That threw me off. I also had trouble with my key card, so annoying. I had to go to the front desk to fix it. The lady was nice enough I guess... but naw. I checked in at 2:30 AM after almost a 24 hour drive in from Las Vegas in a huge moving truck. The check in person was nice, asked about late check out because we were exhausted and could really use that 30-60 mins of sleep. We know Motel 6 does it, besides we paid for a whole stay and already were only getting 8 hours in a room what 30 more mins? The lady that we checked in with said good luck with that wake up early and ask the front desk in the morning but she is going to say no no matter if you go here at 10 AM! I couldn't image anyone having that little amount of customer service. So we went to our room, passed out at 7:00 AM I woke up called the front desk and said we got in at 2:30 AM and I was wondering if we could do a late check out (cut off) "no". End of conversation. So we packed I made some calls to a near by hotel and they said we could check in within the hour and stay until noon the next day for a one day rate. Note: this was all over Memorial Day weekend. So I went downstairs to check out and the lady at the front desk was cocky and rude and said she couldn't do a late check out because she was short handed...WHAT? So you forget about common customer service because you are short handed? She advised me this was a franchise and maybe the other places I had stayed were corporate- so she didn't have to follow the same rules? This was the worse stay ever-not to mention this- we did not use the towels we never do- we used our own- we put our own comforters and blankets over the bed and used our pillows- I am sure the room was super easy to turn I wish I could give a negative but the check in girl was good so a gold star for her. read more

The ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! The checked me in, I have had a card with another persons name on it and forgot to return it with my ID. Next morning we were late to check out because we were looking for the debit card we even told front desk when they called and house keeping that what was holding us up, but house keeping could come in and start cleaning jf they like. She continued to knock and yell on the door and roll her eyes when I told her. Finally, 30 minutes later we asked the front desk if they had our card. They told me I couldn't have the card because it didn't have my name on it even though I had permission. They told me I needed to wait for manager so she could check who check out the room to us. I didn't see why I needed to wait for her to do that, if they were not suppose to rent the room talk to the employee but I had to catch a plane to my grandmother funeral. Her exact response was "well if you had checked out on time". Seriously, we didn't because they had our card which we told them on the phone we were looking for. The manager took her time and when she did she just told her clerk to call the cops! They laughed when they heard the issue, the manager started to follow policy after that which was simple as sending an email to person on card and their reply. read more

This hotel is old looking but the rooms are big and clean. But the water was brown for about 2 minutes from the shower and sink and the shower curtain rod was hanging on by one bolt. There was a fist print in the bathroom door. And the pillows sucked. But front desk was nice and helpfull. Location isnt too bad. Its near some restaurants and the max train. Behind the hotel is a little sketchy appartment area. Weird people hanging around the hotel at night for sure lock the dead bolt on the door at all times and lock your car as soon as you get out. read more

This hotel used to be the Howard Johnson. Now that it is a Motel 6, the rooms are much nicer. They are still renovating and changing things, however, I stayed here when it was a HoJo and it was dirty, outdated and rude customer service. I am willing to spend the money here now that the ugly carpet has been replaced with hardwood floors and the rooms are very spacious. My family is comfortable here and it is within walking distance to almost everything. So Much better, good job Motel 6. Super friendly service too! read more
