Shawna at the front desk was very impressive and so helpful My fiancée is active Military and government employee and it was Shawna that provided and even offered us a military discount. This woman went above and beyond in her efforts to provide exceptionally top notch service. We will now be loyal to this establishment and the Comfort inn & suites brand for life. F.Y.I. they boast an indoor pool, Sauna and Jacuzzi hot tub with complimentary breakfast. Amazing stay all the way around. Ms. Shawna thank you for treating us as the good decent people we strive to be!

I had a good experience here. The hotel is on the older side but the front desk staff were friendly and efficient, and the welcome water and cookies were a really nice touch. The surrounding area doesn't feel that safe, so if you are walking around at night use caution. The rooms could use an upgrade but overall my stay was comfortable enough.

I typically only stay at Hilton brand because it's good quality. I cannot recommend this one though. Tiny rooms, really uncomfortable beds and worst of all, brown markings on our blanket. Absolutely disgusting.

Stayed for 1 night after landing around midnight. Check in was fast and the room was clean. They even had a Guest of the Day welcome bag in my room which was thoughtful. Never gotten one before at any of my other Hilton stays lol. Breakfast was pretty standard with plenty of options. Plus for the crispy bacon and waffle machine. The only 2 things to note were: 1. The bathroom was small so no real counter space. 2. There was no real closet to hang clothes. Since we were only staying for 1 night, these weren't deal breakers.

Mostly clean rooms in a convenient location for visiting the Portland area without being too close to downtown.

The previous one I stayed in So Cal was just OK w/room for improvements needed. This Clackamus location in the Portland suburbs was quite better. Free parking is great! We were warmly welcomed by the front desk. Free was clean and comfortable. The location of the hotel was distant enough for local fireworks sounds to be a non-issue. I enjoyed using the gym in the morning. It's super clean with disinfectant wipes, towels, and water refill station. There were plenty of weights, machines, exercise mat and equipment. It's very convenient to have an onsite restaurant available with Starbucks coffee and tea for purchase. Our basic breakfasts of eggs, bacon, and potatoes hit the spot. My Starbucks decaf white chocolate w/almond milk base was yum. Hubby liked the OJ. Safe, clean, comfy stay, and good front desk. 4 stars.

I wish I could place this review there, but alas, the location is not yet available for commentary or reservations. Let's begin with check-in, which began at 2pm. We arrived at 4:30pm, and were informed that our room was not ready by a desk clerk that could barely speak English. He said we were early. We were not. He had to check multiple times with someone out of sight and be told how to word this. Apparently they hosted a wedding, and the occupants of this room wanted a very late check out. I've worked in the hotel industry for many years in a tourist town, and I know how this works. Which means, it is the job of the reservation department or front desk to say yay or nay to a very late checkout, especially during a fully booked conference weekend. I am far from the only one not severely inconvenienced by this lack of training. Our room. I am not the only one to notice this, but the ads promote pillow top mattresses. Well, once I heard other complaints, I discovered both mattresses in my room were upside down. Meaning, the pillow was on the bottom and the firm part on the top. A lot of complaints from fellow guests. This is a REALLY STUPID MISTAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's incredibly obvious situation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Next is a minor inconvenience, but considering this is an upgraded room, there are no USB ports for device charging. My hallway door needs forced shut. This means, whenever I exit my room to participate in the convention activities I need to force the door closed. A little bit bothersome when the housekeeper next door emptied our trash and straightened our room didn't confirm the door was shut. I am buying merchandise and it is at risk for theft!! New windows were installed, and the road noise was very loud. We weren't even next to a highway or a high-speed road. The room did come with a mini fridge, which worked, and a coffee maker, which sort of worked if you held the lid down for the entire brew time. Were the K-Cups (generic brand) too large? How about a place to plug it in? We used the bathroom outlet. The beautiful new shower, no tub, had no shower shelves. The shampoo and conditioner were in little sample bottles, while the lotion and handwash were in full sized bottles attached to the wall. Of the sink. This seems backwards. The hand wash and lotion should be in trial size, and the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash should be installed in the shower. By the way, there was no body wash, only face soap that had to be stored on the shower floor. If the shower head was not aimed at the wall, water filled the bathroom floor. There was no safe, no hair dryer, no guest seating in the rooms, and no wifi. The hallway fire doors were blocked open. Stairwells are blocked off except for emergency use, and the single operational elevator sounds like something is going to break any time soon. It was so frightening and so slow that many of us took the forbidden staircases as they were far safer. Our brand new bathroom sink counter was chipped. Exposed wires hung freely under the desk. The new wallpaper around the air conditioner was bubbling. Down the hall from our room, #339, the veneer on the door was peeling. Rooms that we assume were completed had either tape residue or a washable paint on the doors. Dishes from the wedding that checked out on Friday were never picked up, at least not by Monday when we checked out. This hotel is not ADA accessible. Why the overpass was closed we couldn't tell, but especially for the mobility-impaired there was no easy way from one side of the hotel to the other. I've stayed in better Best Western's. Please see the photos I've attached.

By far they were the best thing about the Monarch. I will say they have a nice workout room and I also enjoyed and made use of the outdoor pool. The hotel is in a suburb a bit removed from Portland proper but there are stores nearby, restaurants, a mall, everything you might need within walking distance. We visited the Target around the corner and the Red Robin a few times each and both are no more than ten minutes walk. As for the staff, I went to the lobby a number of times to get cutlery, bowls and with other requests and they were always accommodating. On the occasions I need to urgently contact other guests, they connected me without hassle. As for our room, it was comfortable if a bit basic. We had two queen beds, a tv and a coffee maker with a mini fridge. I would have liked a kettle instead as in a tea drinker but they didn't have any. We didn't use the tv at all and on a hot weekend we had the air conditioner going constantly while in the room. It did a good job but was very loud. The showerhead was average - water pressure the same. Overall, I'm happy with my stay here and would happily stay again and recommend the hotel to friends.

The service at this location has to have been the worst that I have received in a very long time…read more Upon arrival, we were told that our room was #329, and after walking all the way across the hotel to that toom, the key didnt work. We decided to try 1 floor down at #229, because the documentation had 2 conflicting numbers. This was the correct room, but it was a smaller standard room than the upgrade that I had paid for through a 3rd party. I had clearly selected a room with a King bed... and it was clearly stated on my confirmation. When we called to see if we could make a correction, the woman said to come back to the front so they could "see what they could do". When we walked back, the woman believed that we had selected a standard queen room, and said the she could make an exception and give us a "free upgrade". As I was listening and gathering my thoughts to respond, she condescendingly looked and me, frustrated, and said "you're welcome".... I was stunned. I politely informed her that my confirmation shows that I selected and paid for this upgrade, and showed her where it specifically states "King Bed" in the confirmation. She said "thats so weird" and that it should be "more specific"... the quote below is my conversation with the third party booking agency after experiencing this rude misunderstanding: "Thanks for confirming the booking details. Since your reservation is for a Standard Double room with a king size bed, that's the room type you should receive at check-in. If the hotel isn't honoring the room type you booked, please show them your Super.com confirmation email or the booking details, as it clearly lists the king size bed." Once we were given keys to a room that we PAID FOR, the ameneties were disappointing. The most noteworthy is the television. It was a large smart Samsung TV, however, the hotel is too cheap to allow their smart TV to connect to their own network. When selecting the Netflix button (expecting to be able to log into our personal account), the TV would sat "not connected to network". When we went into the settings, the Network connection was grayed out... meaning the hotel purposefully adjusted the settings so that their own devices cannot connect to their own internet. They also did not even offer any HD channels to match the TV, so the only selections available were some old blurry analog channels. The charging station for our EV was also aburdly high. They tried to charge $3 per hour just to be connected to the SLOW charger. It would have taken the car 9 hours to charge at their location, and the app said that the hotel sets their own price. I have never seen a slow charger cost so much or be so obscenely slow. We ended up just driving 5 minutes away to a dealership to charge there so that this hotel couldn't get any more money from us. I refused to even buy anything from their vending machine. Some smaller complaints were the coffee maker not working and the grunget carpet, but those pale in comparison to the passive aggressive, rude, and innaccurate service that we received. We will never stay at a Best Western again.

Mold, Bug's, and Greed. AVOID!!!!…read more The weekly rate is doable. For the rate, it seemed like a decent place. We treated our room for bugs. Got matress covers for the beds ... there were literally bugs on the beds when we arrived, but we needed the room. Moved in, paid a week up front. Talked to Ashley, the manager, about how long-term stays work. Loved Ashley. They let me know they have a 28-day policy . Once you've stayed 28 days, they inspect. If everything's okay, you can stay. Perfect. The pool was closed, and that's actually why we chose this place, but no biggie. The website said waffles and sausage would be served at breakfast. That was just lies in advertising. Think food stamp breakfast. Nothing hot, bagles, toast, cereal, juice, milk. We were fine with hot coffee, cold cereal, and bagles. We were pretty happy in our moldy little room. That the hotel advertised as an apartment. We stayed about a week and a half before we went to the office and attempted to pay for the next night. They refused the rent. They wanted us to move to a 3rd floor room in a different building with less than half hours notice. They say 2 hours, I have receipts. We told the woman in the office that we'd been very up front about our intention to stay a few weeks. We told her we'd talked to Ashley, the manager, and we'd been told it wasn't an issue. We asked to please see Ashley, the manager. She said she was Ashley's boss and that Ashley was off today. It turns out our little moldy room is in the remodeled building. I did notice they'd tried to cover the mold with gunmetal grey paint. I was real surprised though that this was the nice building. Weekly motel renters support the industry in the off months, but are always treated 2nd class. With that perspective, even with the mold, the non-working fire detector, and the microwave that doesn't spin. When I told the woman who identified herself as Ashley's manager, that Ashley was aware we staying longer she said "Not in my first building you're not!!" She really is proud of that building. If this is their best, I warn you, stay clearrrrr!!! I asked for an accommodation for my husband. He's had several heart attacks and really can't do flights of stairs. They got an attitude and threatened to call the police, which they eventually did. They have us a half hour to get out. They treated us like criminals. My best guess is they accidentally overbooked. They also must be fixing that pool.soon, it was uncovered ans their room rate tripled overnight. Either way, AVOID AVOID AVOID THESE ARE HORRIBLE PEOPLE. The rooms are really sub par too. If you're looking for a weekly motel... you're going to be paying upwards of $2k per month. Don't give it to people that use and abuse families like these people.
