I'm leaving 3 stars because I do not like when these motel 6's do not have a microwave in the room or fridge and make you go downstairs after a long 10 hour drive to microwave your dinner ! With that said the customer service at check in was fast and friendly .... The room was clean and the tv had great channel selection ... I love this little half couch seating with the table it's great to chill and have a beer rather than eating in your bed like typical hotels . This hotel was reasonably priced at 89$ but they neglected to say they charge for wi-fi, don't serve breakfast, there's no fridge, no toiletries, no info book, no dryer and the room floor hadn't been mopped in a while. The room looks like a bad 70's Jetsons show. The bed was acceptable and it was close to the highway. * Dirty floor- I accidentally dropped some water on the floor (there's no carpet?) and when I wiped it up with the bath mat the towel was black! A lot of reviews here gave this Motel a low rating for the LUXURY AMENITIES, well bottom line is if you are to stay at a place for the BUDGET minded stay this is it!!! If you guys want all the extra stuff? pay $100 plus on other hotels and Motels and complain all you want on MINOR things since you paid twice more! We stayed at this Motel for less than $55 on 21 Jan 14. We traveled from Las Vegas heading to Edmonton Alberta and when I stop to rest, I stop to REST. I only watch the TV for the weather update and local news before hitting the road. There were no FREE WIFI, which is a downer, but We have internet on both of our cellphones, so it's no big deal. There are no microwave and or coffee maker in the room. We always bring our own on our long drive, so no problems there either. Though they have a washer, dryer and theres a small microwave for everyone to use in their laundry room. There were 2 gas stations, a Burger King and McD's within a 100 yards of the motel. The room is clean, bathroom is a decent size, water pressure and drainage was not an issue and it was SOOOOO QUIET. It's kind of rare for a Motel set up. MOST OF ALL THE MAIN REASON WE DECIDED TO STAY HERE IS BECAUSE THEY ARE PET FRIENDLY AND THEY GIVE US MILITARY DISCOUNT. Any business that supports the US Military will always earn our business. After being rudely denied at the Idaho Falls' Quality Inn and Suites due to age requirements, it was about 8:30pm and I was left with no place to stay in a town I have never been to before. The front desk worker at the Quality Inn sent me out the door with no help to refund my money and no help finding another place in town to stay that doesn't have a 21+ age requirement. I quickly jumped online to find a nearby hotel and I found the Motel 6 in Idaho Falls. Heather W. at the front desk was absolutely exceptional. I walked in to check in to my room and told her about my experience at the Quality Inn, she went above and beyond to help me figure out my refund and even discounted my room from the inconvenience at the other hotel. She was BY FAR the nicest hotel front worker I have ever met and treated me with such respect and kindness. If I am ever back in town I will 100% be staying at the Motel 6 due to the nice, comfortable rooms and to see Heather W. again! I am beyond grateful for finding someone so unbelievably nice after having such a disappointing experience at the Quality Inn. read more

While passing through, we needed to have some work done on our RV and decided to get a room for the night. I wanted the cheapest room in town because like I said, the RV was having work done. This location gave us an early check in without any extra charge, the staff was professional and friendly, and the room was immaculate. Outstanding! read more

The stay was cheap... Of course that's why I booked it. However, I've never had good luck with Motel 6s in other towns. This one was great!! No carpets... That was a shock, but after thinking about, why doesn't every hotel do that??? It's much cleaner! The shower was great. Nothing fancy... Except this tall girl didn't have difficulties bending backwards to wash her hair under a low shower head. Minimalistic style. Everything looked like it was designed so it wouldn't get stolen, but that's ok. It looks nice and clean. I'm impressed. read more

I stopped at the Motel 6 in Idaho Falls during my epic trip, Kanan Across America, on my way to Yellowstone Park (http://kananacrossamerica.blogspot.com/2009/09/kaa-wyoming-i-care.html), and apparently I wasn't the only one with that idea. Motel 6 is the standard-bearer of economical chain motels, but I guess stopping there duing Yellowstone tourism season rates are adjusted, which sucks if you're on a tight budget. Bottom line: The accomodations are okay, they're all you can expect out of a Motel 6, however it is way pricier than you'd expect. read more

We have been using Motel 6 for over 25 years! Idaho Falls location is one of the best yet! The building is older but has all the upgrades of newer motels. The pool temp was perfect, the room was the typical size, but they make the most of it. There's a nice shady, grassy picnic area for your pets. Most importantly, the staff was friendly, promp and professional. Oh yeah, they share the parking lot with a Jack in the Box, and the locals' favorite family restaurant is the same distance away. The Mexican food drive through across and catty-cornered, is just terrible...I grew up in San Diego and on taco shop food... don't waste your money!! read more

Over the years this has been one of our fav' 6's. Great customer service, nice location right off the freeway, without the freeway noise, updated rooms (No More Carpet!! :) ) , and restaurants and gas stations within 200 yards. The room does not have a fridge and microwave. There is laundry and a community microwave. If you travel with pets, we travel with our German Shepherd(s), ask for a 1st floor room. It'a a two-story building and like a hotel you go in to the building and then to your room. No outside entrance to your room. Again a great stay at an affordable, long journey pitt-stop. read more

Passing through Idaho and needed a place to sleep. This motel was convenient off the freeway and easy to make reservations. We booked a one bed, it was over all pretty clean and for the most part modern with a flat screen tv, microwave, mini fridge, side table and booth seating. The only down fall was the room smelled like cigarettes although it said no smoking and the blanket also had a cigarette hole in it. read more

Home away from home. We stay here a lot. Sometimes it feels really clean and others times, not so much. Our room smelled gross. I'm just going to say it...it smelled like someone had diarrhea and it permeated the furniture. They allow pets and I sometimes wonder what some owners let their animals do in their rooms. First thing I thought was a dog was sick and messed on the floor and I wasn't cleaned up well. We had a great dane and stayed here a few times with her. Yes, I'm being a hypocrite, but now we don't have an animal, it makes me cringe a little to think of I'm sharing a bed with a nervous wetting chihuahua. I just try to forget about it and enjoy our time there. read more

Stopped in for a night off the road. Easy parking and easy to find. Front desk was hospitable in a welcoming lobby. Clean room. Room was brightly lit but not a lot of floor space with the room I got and full size bed. The LED lights did make the room look bigger than what it is. You could actually take a few steps across the bathroom, not too small. Do bring your own shampoo and conditioner or you'd be paying $1 each at the vending machines. Bed was comfortable. read more

I stay at the motel 6 in Jackson hole frequently. But this room in idaho falls was sooooo stinky. We were immediately smacked in the face with an overly perfumed room smell. There had obviously been a dog in this room and they were trying to cover it up. It smelled like the dog was still in the room under the bed. But I could not locate where the smell was coming from. So so gross. Black hairs in the bed when I pulled the sheets down. I do not believe the sheets were washed. I do not believe the room was sanitized after the previous guests. read more

Stopped here on a road trip this summer. Most uncomfortable bed I have ever laid on. My boyfriend and I actually left super early in the morning because our backs hurt so bad from the mattress. Super quiet motel and clean. Lots of parking and seems like it is in a decent part of town. Lots of restaurants around. Had a weird 70's type corner couch with a table in the room. Cute and modern design. The mattresses are very firm, but in a good way. I could have used a few more pillows than the two they provided, and maybe a fluffier blanket would have been nice. But it wasn't important enough for me to go ask for at the front desk, which I'm sure he would have provided because he was very nice. Very spaces amenities, no microwave, fridge, iron, or blowdrier. The internet costs $3 a day, make sure you ask for this and pay at time of check in, or you'll be running there in your pjs later that night. Hallway noise can be a problem if you have loudmouths out there like I did. Everything looked very clean, except an old bar of soap I found behind the bathroom door. Again, not enough for me to complain about because stuff like that doesn't bother me, but I'm sure if I had, I could have switched rooms. Overall, for $50 this room was almost as good as they get. It would have been a 5 star with more inviting bedding, and a little more attention to detail in the cleaning department. read more

This hotel sucks.....when you reserve a room and mark your preference as non-smoking they take it only as a suggestion and don't actually give you a non-smoking room. They might be able to get me a non-smoking room tomorrow but really can't promise anything. ....I'm not holding out hope! read more

Got a room for $80 a night, at one point, someone entered our room without cleaning or taking anything, leaving the door open. Had to wait until 5 in the evening for a room. What really gets my undies in a twist is that they CHARGE FOR WIFI. Not even a reasonable price for the quality, 2.99 per day PER DEVICE for WiFi that drops out for 5 minutes every hour or so. read more

When I made my reservation I said I needed to reserve a port-a-crib for my 8 months baby and they lady acted like I was annoying her and told me "they had a million of them" and that I didn't need to reserve it. When we got there after driving 8 hrs we learned they were out and that we should check our room. My husband went in and found no crib and came out smelling like smoke after being in there only a (supposed to be a non smoking room). The lady at the front desk was really helpful and gave us a full refund, which is why we gave it 2 stars. read more

I was impressed, this was not a typical motel 6 room, it was quite charming. It had hard floors and some nice colorful, unique, modern decor. It was very clean and in very good shape. This is by far the nicest motel 6 I have stayed in. The staff were friendly and helpful. I was very happy with it and would definitely stay there again. Booked a room on booking.com. Our flight was delayed and we arrived at 11pm, and were shown a smoking room. even though we had requested a non smoking. They had nothing else available so we were stuck with two kids in a room reeling of smoke. So beware, Idaho still has smoking rooms. read more

I reserved a room at this hotel for my son for one week. He checked in late Monday night and I made the reservation for seven days. I confirmed with the front desk lady over the phone several times that he would be checking out Monday morning. The maid service and front desk rep knocked repeatedly on his door the following Sunday and told him to check out immediately. I called the front desk to resolve the issue and the same lady who took the reservation hung up on me three times and finally told me to call the manager the next day. The manager was unavailable when I called the next day and the front desk personnel informed me the reservation was for only six nights even though the lady told me it was reserved until Monday morning. I wanted a receipt emailed to me and they said they could only fax receipts. I will not be recommending nor utilizing this hotel again!! Very poor customer service. read more
