We drove from Kansas City to San Diego and back and stayed in 12 different hotels, so we're comparing them all. We stayed one night in room 116 for $66.55, which was a below average price for the trip. HE: Should I post these reviews as a conversation? SHE: Talking back and forth? Would that be fun for the readers? HE: It might be just annoying. SHE: Yeah, well then they can stop reading the review. HE: The room was sparse. It could really do with another table. SHE: It was pretty spacious. There's a lot of floor space, so another chair would have totally fit, but that's fine. Oh, also, hardwood floors. Not carpeted, which I prefer no carpet. HE: I prefer carpet. SHE: The bed was squeaky, right? HE: It was a little squeaky. SHE: We didn't test it, really, but it was a comfortable mattress. It's strange to me when two people are staying, and they only have three pillows. I'm always curious about that. It wasn't important enough for us to go to the front desk. "Only three pillows, one star. Ha!" HE: The room appeared clean. SHE: I checked the sheets and stuff like I always do. It felt completely clean. Not brand new but perfectly clean. HE: I will say the power outlet on my side of the bed did not work. SHE: There are many other outlets in the room. There was a refrigerator and a freezer. The freezer didn't really freeze anything overnight, but it was cold. There was no microwave. No coffee in the room, but coffee in the lobby. No breakfast. HE: The showerhead was wonky, and it sprayed in all directions. SHE: The toilet flushed so fast it scared me the first time. HE: That's hardly a complaint. SHE: It's an observation. SHE: The room smelled like an indoor swimming pool, which I personally like, because it's better than a lot of other smells. Our room was on the first floor, and it was across the hallway from the swimming pool, so it smelled like pool. HE: I didn't notice. SHE: Well, I did, because once we got down a little bit further past the pool somebody was smoking dope, and that's what I smell. HE: When I arrived, someone was complaining to the women at the front desk. Sounded like valid complaints, and she was taking it very well because he was very angry. There was a line of people waiting for him to complain, Including me in the line. SHE: She took care of him, and then she took care of us, and it was all good. The person right in front of us asked for another key, and she put her mom voice on for that guy because he apparently asked for a lot of keys. I don't know how long he'd been staying there, but she was like, "I am charging you for every single key after this." So, I was totally fine with that. She was firm, but she wasn't impolite. HE: The neighborhood was nice. There are convenience stores. That's one thing I looked at with reviews. What's the neighborhood like? Is this a place you want to park your car overnight? SHE: You're like in a little suburban area, just all your basic convenience all around. HE: There's actually a Ruby Tuesday nearby. SHE: Those things still exist? HE: Yeah, and an iHop. SHE: It's more corporate. The hotel's on a little cul-de-sac there, so it's isolated. There's another hotel across the way. read more

Always reliable and very reasonably priced. I frequently will look for Motel 6 when I arrive in a new town.

PROS Clean hotel. Decent area. Restaurants and shopping close by. Clean rooms Pleasant front desk staff. Lady made it clear about expectations and their 'rules'. Plenty of poop bags in designated area. Ice machine on each floor, working. Microwave AND fridge in room. Coffee in lobby. CONS Requested a first floor room at least a month in advance and they did not hold that. Elevator broken our entire stay. Broken windows in pool area. No grassy area for dogs. The smell of Fabulosa or similar cleaning product was prominent. Light fixtures in room burnt out. Coffee in lobby is limited to one urn only and apparently it empties quickly and takes time to rebrew that single pot. SMALL tv. Couch (sleeper?) was darn near a hazard. Sitting down on it was like falling down onto floor. Overall a fairly decent stay. Location was nowhere close to show venue but that was easily overlooked because of . Next year we will give serious consideration to staying here again. read more

Stopped in for a night as we were on our way to Arizona. When I first arrived, there was no one at the front desk. I waited about 10 min for the person to finish their cigarette before they would come check me in. I also needed to give them the ID of everyone staying in the room which I find very strange but it's "their policy". I was also spoke to very sarcastically about reading the policy, which was in very small text that I was unable to see. Not great experience at checking in. My stay: it wasn't bad for one night. Benefit is we get to bring our dogs with us for an affordable night. Walls are very thin and cos tangly hear children running in the halls. I can very clearly hear the stomping of the people staying above us (I'm on the first floor). Pillows were not at all comfortable but glad I had my own. Room was clean overall but did have some rot on the tv stand I guess that's what it's called. Room was pretty much what I would expect but the low rating is mainly because of the awful first impression upon arriving. Really brought my mood down after driving all day and don't keep people waiting. read more

Honest Review. Check in was good. The room omg bro. Stain on the pillow case looked gross and the sheet had a smear of white crap on it. Stains on the walls. Dust and pet hair everywhere. The tv was messed up. One roll of toilet paper. Body wash and used soap sitting in the shower. Crap and pee stains under the toilet seat. The hair dryer was broken. Felt like stuff crawling on you under the sheets but didn't find anything. The door would not seal properly and was loose not to safe. The key card took my ten tries every time. Killed two cockroaches in the bathroom. (They don't explain this but... if you need new towels you have to go upfront with the old ones and request new ones.) no room service or no disturb signs. They won't go change sheets unless you ask or pick up trash unless you put it in the hall. But hey if you want to save money go for this place . Two stars because it was cheap and the bed didn't fall apart. Oh ya! Don't park in the back on the weekend there was a fire party with drinking going on. One more thing I swear! The side door won't let you key in so if you need to, just send someone around to run to the back door to open it for you! This was all in room 105. If I could get my money back I'd give 5 stars! When we first arrived from a long day of driving I really needed to use the restroom and the lady at the front desk was incredibly rude when I asked about using one. Upon our entrance to our room the carpet in the hallway by the door smelled like straight piss. Walking into the room it seemed to be decently cleaned, but then I noticed trash in the middle of the floor between the two beds. It looked as if they barely swept the floor and didn't bother mopping. The tv was full of dust and the bathtub didn't look as if much effort was put into cleaning it. The beds were uncomfortable as were the pillows. One of the beds didn't even have the fitted sheet on it. As another person said, the floors and elevator reeked of fabuloso and other strong cleaning products. read more

This motel is a good value for the price. Our room was clean and seems recently updated. The TV was decent sized, and the bed was comfy. It's a nice stop on a road trip. My only comment is that our room was stuffy and warm when we arrived, and it took the AC unit nearly an hour to cool it down to a comfortable temp. Despite some minor glitches, an okay stay. Pros: * Nice, clean, up-to-date, 3 floor motel. * Cost. $64 with a AAA discount. It's one of the rare M6's that honors AAA & it was $15 more without. * Large room, 2 HBO stations, fridge, m/w. They ran out of singles, so gave me a 2-bed room for the same price. * Nice area, near a lot of other hotels & some businesses. It feels safe, but the back parking lot is quite deserted & there's only 1 entrance/exit (you can't drive all the way around the bldg... good to know if you're hauling a trailer), so be careful at night. * Check out is noon, which is rare & nice for late sleepers or those just moseying along on vacation. Good to know: * There are 3 locked entry doors (use your key card) & the front entry, which has 2 double doors to get through (tough if bringing in lots of luggage, cuz they're heavy & not automatic). The front & back are equidistant from the elevator. The side doors are a bit further walk, if you're on an upper floor. * Lobby coffee 6-9am only. * As mentioned above, this is not 1 of the M6's with parking in front of the door, if that matters to you. Cons: * Small things, but staff isn't particularly friendly or helpful. It's not worth going into details, but employees seem very frustrated & not particularly helpful, so customer service could use a boost here. * My room was only partially cleaned, which is rare for M6. Usually housekeeping works hard. It's almost as if they thought someone was staying over and/or got called away 1/2-way through cleaning. Yeah, I could have asked for another room, but after a 300-mi drive & having already dragged my belongings in & unpacked... it was doable (see below). One bed had wrinkled bedspread, pillowcases & sheets, as if someone slept in it. Fine, I just slept in the other bed. Only 1 facecloth, which isn't useful in a room meant for 2-4 people. And, the bathroom had no soap, so I thought perhaps they left it in the shower instead, but I found a used soap & its wrapper on the floor behind the door, with 4 open & used shampoos & lotion samples. Kinda gross... I'm assuming the tub probably wasn't cleaned, so I just tossed a towel on the tub floor & took a shower with one of the already opened shampoos rather than using someone's used soap... eek. Because of the above, it was 1 of the only times I thought of not leaving a tip, but I have no way of knowing if the same person will clean the room tomorrow, so it's unfair. It's not a big deal, but for a walk-in rate of $85, you'd think more attention would be paid. All in all, clean & the bed is very comfy for an M6. Perhaps it's as the other bed in the room is in front of the TV & it can't be swiveled, so I'm assuming most sleep in that bed. From the other bed, you need to turn your head to the right to watch TV. Not very comfy. 3.5* out of 5. -.5* for less than stellar housekeeping job. read more

Bright, clean and comfortable environment. Very reasonably priced. Like other reviews, my expectations are low for Motel 6, however this particular property exceeded my expectations in just about every way. Additionally, I left my iPad in my room after checkout. I was halfway home to Austin, TX when I discovered my error. I called and the iPad was found by the cleaning staff and turned in to Motel management. They carefully wrapped it in bubble wrap and sent it to me. I did have to pay $12 for postage but that was perfectly fine with me. I am very impressed and would definitely stay at this location again. Highly recommended to anyone looking to stay in Las Cruces. read more

I reserved two bottom floor rooms since I am handicapped when I arrived at my destinations to check in all the bottom floor rooms have been given out being handicapped with heart and lung problems as well as arthritis in my hips I had to climb a flight of stairs, because there was no elevator there is no cable TV so I can't even watch TV. This is the worst hotel I have ever ever ever stayed in. I have stayed in cheaper hotels that are much better than this piece of shit. This is a horrible horrible place. The staff is horrible they don't care about your needs , I do not I do not and I repeat I do not recommend this hotel at all. It is a piece of crap. My stay was on October 7 through October 8 so every time I have to take my dog potty I have to climb a flight of stairs down, and then another flight back up. That is totally against the civil liberties, disability act, and I will be Siri in t during this and filing complaints with the civil liberties, disability act all bottom floor rooms at least most of them should be reserved for the handicap read more

This is an EXCELLENT hotel. From the time my family and I walked into the hotel for check in to when we checked out our stay was pleasant. The front desk staff on all shifts were warm and friendly. I must give a special THANK YOU to Daisy who was the front desk clerk at check in,she is a absolute GEM. I was having a rough day and at the point of tears and she cared. The room was clean and the beds were so comfy. I am very picky about pillows and the pillows in the room were perfect...not flat but not too fluff. The air conditioner in the room is whisper quiet but VERY EFFECTIVE. The parking lot is well lit all around and I felt safe going out to my vehicle at all times. I have been traveling a lot and I travel with a dog so finding pet friendly places is sometimes challengibg. Motel 6 is great and this motel is a newer facility and looks very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful in getting us checked in. The amenities were great. They have an indoor pool with a spa. Coffee was served all day. The rooms were modern and comfortable. Price was good...BUT... Shower didn't work well Got locked out of our room on our 2nd day there and had one night left. Had to go back to the front to have the key cards redone.. And the worst.... we got to our room after dinner and our door was open..OPEN...and we had asked for no maid service that day. I called the front and the guy was not concerned at all and said it was "probably the maids.." I was pissed because that would mean our door was open all day!!! he said I should have put a sign on the door...which..we would have HAD THERE BEEN ONE..which is why I went to the front that morning to tell them not to service the room!!! The bed was not made..but the trash was changed. So far, we haven't found anything missing, thank goodness. The hallway on the 3rd floor smells horrible and the parking in the back is difficult with a camper parked crooked and taking up 2 spaces and sticking out into the driveway. Please do not stay here. The price really isn't even that great, you can stay next door and spend a lil bit more but at least you'll have clean rooms. Nothing but bunch of crackheads live here. 1st night we heard nothing but loud thumps ( it sounded like someone was moving furniture around but for HOURS!!) from up above us on the 3rd floor, 2nd day it was even worse going on for hours throughout the night to the point my bf and I couldn't even get more than 2 hours of sleep. We had to go downstairs and complain/ask for another one. They moved us down (mind you this is 3am) the hall and the room was even worse. The towel rack was broken, holes in the wall, two beds were both disgusting, glitter on the bed, black hair all over the sheets, blood stains, yellow stains on the pillow cases. I don't write reviews ever, I'm not one to complain either but this place was so gross and I was upset bc my grandmother paid 333$ for us to stay a week there bc I'm visiting from California. THEY ONLY REFUNDED US 97$!! even after telling them everything, they did nothing. I opted just to sleep on an air mattress at my grandmas bc this place was that bad. When we checked out hunters were bringing in a dead deer!!! Yes a dead deer in a plastic bag and no I'm not making this up at all. The front desk saw and laughed sit off like it's a normal thing. I can guarantee those people we're gonna put that dead deer in the tub that the next people will unfortunately use. This place just has bad people that obviously live there. My bf and I had to take our luggage with us everyday bc we were scared someone was going to break in bc there was no security on the door. The first day we told the lady at the front we don't want any room service going to our room when we're not there and we will ask if we need anything and sure enough our request was ignored or not communicated and we had cleaning ladies still come into our room. read more

We have stayed at many Motel 6 before this and we were always satisfied. Unfortunately this was not up to par. We were given a room on the first floor near an exit. This was fine except that every time someone went in or out of the door, it slammed shut. This went on all night long. The room was clean as usual but the shower spray was so weak that I'm not sure I got all of the shampoo out of my hair. The mattress was so old and soft that my husband and I slid to one side. I have to give one star for cleanliness but I can't give any more. I don't recommend that you stay here until the mattresses are replaced and the force of the shower is improved. read more

For a Motel 6 I was actually very surprised with this property because I tend to set low expectations for them having only stayed in one prior too. It wasn't the best place to stay, but did surprise me with the quality. That being said there was still a couple concerns I had with the property. From arrival I was very happy with the customer service by the lady at the front desk. She gave us a good price and honored our AAA membership which knocked the price back another $10, putting it at roughly $65 for the night. The room was clean, but there a strong body odor that was in the room as soon as we opened it. I'm not sure what brought this smell on because everything else was clean, but it was really strong. I got air freshener from the front desk and sprayed down the room, but it didn't help too much. With the AC cranked all the way up it finally toned down, but too a while. My other concern was that the WiFi in the hotel was non existent. I was able to connect to it, but it didn't load one single thing and kept giving me no connection screens on my goin, same went for my family. I try not to be on my phone too much, but on road trips it is important I get some computer time to work on things and I was unable to do so while here. I was very happy with the pool and hot tub that I was able to use and get my morning cardio in. I would likely stay here again as I believe that smell was an exception not the rule and I'm sure the WiFi can be improved! read more

This was the absolute worst hotel/motel I have ever stayed at. Got in around 8pm after a full day of driving from California. I had made a reservation for a room with 1 bed but I was informed upon check in they only have rooms with 2 beds left. I said this was fine but they charged me more money for the room with 2 beds even though I had reserved the cheaper 1 bed room. I grab my stuff and head up to the room. I go to use the bathroom and I notice urine all over the toilet seat and lid. Gross. There is also what appears to be feces on the handle. I clean all of this with my Clorox wipes and then I discover that the toilet does not flush at all after I go to use it. So I go back down stairs and the receptionist says she can come fix it (it appears this happens often...) so she comes up and she fixes it. She was very friendly and helpful and the only positive thing out of this whole experience. After going back up to my room I notice all the counter and desk surfaces are sticky and filthy. There is also long hairs in the bed so I had to go back downstairs and get my blanket from the car. It was like my room was not even cleaned. The last thing someone wants to do after a day of driving is spend 45+ min fixing and cleaning things in their hotel room. I felt gross the entire time I stayed here. This was night 1 of a 11 day cross country road trip and I had reservations at 2 other Motel 6s on my trip which I immediately cancelled after staying at the Las Cruces location. I have always had good experiences at Motel 6 and I stay often since I have a dog but I will stick to La Quinta from now on. DO NOT STAY AT THIS MOTEL 6!!! read more

My husband was a guest of this motel, where there employees have no training. Do not know how to communicate in an appropriate way to their guests, and even threaten with "eviction", since they obviously have no training they do not understand when and how certain terms are used. We were on the phone for less than five minutes when the employee "Needy" called to ask him to lower the volume or she would have him "evicted". We were having a normal volume conversation when she walked past his room, stood outside the door and listened. I asked him to leave since this is obviously a violation of privacy. This "Needy" employee while I was on the phone with him, threatened him, refused to call management and acted completely unprofessional towards a paying guest. No guest complained, this was the employee taking it upon herself to be bothersome to a paying guest. Today we speak to the manager who clearly has no training as well, and refused to apologize and refund his money. Creating a fake policy that employees can walk around the hallways and listen for noise and threatened guest to "evict" them, again they don't even understand terminology. If the guest doesn't lower their voice. Again it was a five minute conversation we had. So according to Andi the manager they can sneak around to listen and if they feel it's loud they will take your money and kick you out. My husband travels all over and has never had an employee and manager act this way. Do not stay here, and if you do don't use your phone or "Needy" will threatened to "evict" you. This place needs to train their employees, and relate to them the reason they have a job is because of paying guests. read more

This motel 6 is the nicest of the chain I have ever seen. The staff is friendly, the rooms are basic, but very clean. The tub was short, but very wide. I could sit in it cross-legged. The indoor pool and the hot tub were perfect. It was completely empty and we had a wonderful time splashing away. My only complaint is the general complaint about Motel 6s. No shampoo, or anything else. Also, the blankets were super cheap. They did let us have early check-in. I was grateful for that. And it was just 50 dollars! This is the best motel for that price I have ever stayed in. read more

Very dated facility. Woman at check-in was delightful and friendly. Was traveling from Fort Worth to Phoenix and was very tired after 10 hours of west Texas so was looking forward to a good nights sleep. At 2 AM my wife was awaken by dripping sounds in the bathroom and found it flooded from the tub overflowing in the unit above ours. Needless to say I got very little sleep that night. Manager offered to take 50% off of bill. In my opinion the room should have been given to me free. Will not stay here again. read more
