I originally booked at Motel 6 because it was under $90. I didn't want to spend an extra $70 to stay at Feather Falls Casino Lodge, but honestly, looking back, I probably should have just splurged. Our power had been out at home for about two hours, and I was really looking forward to taking a hot shower since I had a migraine. My toddler was also on a sugar rush, so we just needed a comfortable, easy night. When we checked in, the front desk employee came off a bit crass at first. However, once I mentioned I had a reservation, his tone changed and he handed over our key cards. When we walked into the room, the temperature was comfortable, which was a relief. I set my bag down on the desk and noticed something move out of the corner of my eye. I crouched down and saw a small roach crawling along the wall. I then checked the chair under the desk and found a large roach. A few moments later, when my husband came out of the restroom, he spotted a medium-sized roach near the open closet/mini fridge area. That was enough for us. We left immediately. I returned to the front desk, handed the employee our key cards, and told him we found roaches in the room. He asked what room number we were in and then started looking for another room to switch us to. I declined and told him we were leaving. We just wanted a clean place to shower and rest, and unfortunately, this stay was not it. read more

THE WORST MOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED IN. If I could give 0, I would! It was crawling with roaches, A/C stopped working on the second night, homeless people hanging around, appeared to have prostitution going on as well, non smoking rooms wreaked of smoke, pool was filled with dirt, night person was rude and threw our keys at us when they had to be rekeyed the second night. If I could put negative stars I would. Never stay there again. It was hot as hell in the room when I walked in my room. The college boy fridge didn't even work. The sink in bathroom spat water all over floor. (Bad design) Couldn't get extra pillows. Scummy place wouldn't recommend to anyone. Didn't have any any toiletries. the night shift lady was very rude and unprofessional.. instantly had a nasty attitude with me her whole dem was very unwelcoming. I use to work front desk at feather falls lodge so I know how stressful it can be sometimes. But this lady calls me STUPID actually yells it. So I go tf off and she event threatens us with her "big brother" it's actually unbelievable the stuff coming out of this lady's mouth.. all this while my one year old is standing there with us. This motel 6 is already dreadful enough with the occupants it constantly has, you would think they would have there staff better equipped and more professional representing the place. I do not and would not ever recommend staying here. Pay the extra $20 and stay at super 8 instead if your going cheaper. Even Sunset inn is really nice. motel 6 should be shut down or at least fire this neg lady and hire some more bubbly people. read more

No rating deserved. We actually live in Oroville. Our power went out and it was over 105 in our home, with 2 dogs, 1 cat and 1 bird we had to do something. All other motels claim they had no pet friendly rooms available. The room smelled like smoke, toilet was plugged, the room next door was selling stuff, all night cars would pull up knock then leave. My TV had 1 channel. Bed were questionable. We have stayed in motel 6 from Florida to California, this is by far the WORST one ever. read more

I just stayed here again (December 2015) with my dog and a friend after another hike at Feather Falls. I still think it's a great value for the money. We had a similar room to last time, and everything functioned in the room. The bathroom door had some peeling on the inside and there was one cigarette burn in the comforter, but aside from that the room was clean and we had a good stay. read more

If I could give this hotel no stars I absolutely would! The maintenance man, Rocky, is rude!! He yelled at me and my husband because our dog did not have a tag on his collar saying my dog wasn't vaccinated when in reality he was fully vaccinated... I even emailed the owner in regards of the maintenance man yelling at me and my husband in front of people outside and he obviously did not care because he had no response to me. For the most part the house keepers were very nice. The sinks and shower drains would barely drain in the rooms.. It is very loud at night and always smells like marijuana outside. This motel is very reasonable priced. $46.00 for two people. Oh and the best part, my dog was allowed. They don't even charge an extra fee for pets or even take a pet deposit. The rooms were pretty clean. The house keeper makes sure everything is switched out everyday. The only problem was that not every room have WIFI. Also it cost $3.00 for the code to get the WIFI. But oh wells. The reason I was in Oroville was because my husband and I had two days off together (which doesn't happen often) and decided to go out and visit Feather River. We needed to find some where cheap and accept pets, quick. And we stumble upon Motel 6. Which was great because it was literally 2 blocks away from the river. We didn't really care which place we stayed at because it's not like we were going to be in the room much anyways. We just needed a bed and a shower. So Motel 6 was perfect because it was clean cheap and my dog was allowed. read more

Like that world-wide Scottish restaurant McDonald's, one isn't going to get gourmet fare but you know what you are going to get for your minimal dollars. Because of their no additional cost pet policy, Motel 6 has become my home away from home - I know I am going to get a reasonable place to sleep though would never take anyone there I was trying to impress. Reminds me of that Scottish restaurant. :-) The one thing that does vary from location is the shower and this one took me by surprise. The shower was similar to what I've seen in Europe and Australia: basically an end of the bathroom is closed off by a shower curtain and has it own drain. Perfectly functional, easy for them to clean, and something that this North American has always found strange even though it makes perfect sense. You should be able to find a picture of the shower somewhere in this Motel 6's review. For a moment, I thought I had the accessible room until I saw that the toilet did not have rails. What was also strange about the bathroom was the complete lack of furniture. The shower was at one end, there was a wash basin, and there was the toilet and nothing else. Would have been nice to have some surfaces to put things on. But it is Motel 6 and you usually know what you're getting. Yup, I would stay there again. A bit of strangeness with the WIFI. I paid $3 for it as expected at Motel 6 but never had to enter passwords, etc. In other words, the WIFI system was open and I didn't need to pay an extra $3 - oh well. Caveat: If I wasn't traveling with my dog, I would have investigated staying at a number of small and locally owned motels on Feather River Boulevard between the Motel 6 and Oroville Dam Road. FWIW, because of the Yelp reviews, I did not eat at the restaurant that abuts the Motel 6. Yes it was convenient but, with the exception of the pies, it held no appeal. read more

Witnessed a domestic fight where someone pushed a car in the parking lot with their own car. It gave us stories to tell anyway. Missing smoke detectors snd broken exhaust fans too. read more

Stay away. Chico has a much nicer Motel 6 for less--we know because we stayed there the 2nd night, instead. For Oroville: Reservation process on line, was easy. Upon arrival, several people were wandering around the parking lot, sitting in cars smoking, and a others riding bikes back and forth. Check in was fairly easy, with the exception that we contacted the hotel earlier in the day to say we would be arriving late, around 10:30pm and to ensure our request for a ground level room would be accommodated. We arrived at 10:40 pm and were told the motel was completely sold out and the only room left was handicap room. Since it was so late, we agreed to take the room. As we unloaded our car, my husband was nearly struck by a person on a bike, riding on the walkway. It seemed intentional and we heard the person talking about us to a group of people sitting in a nearby car. Our fear levels rose and we started to feel unsafe. We quickly moved our luggage into the room and locked the door. The room was disgusting. It was designated as handicap non-smoking, but reeked of smoke. We inspected the sheets for cleanliness and found them to be clean, although the top cover was full of burn holes. We opened the small refrigerator and it was gross. Something had obviously been spilled in the freezer compartment and not cleaned. The side table next to the bed had grease smears and was definitely not wiped with cleanser. The bathroom was equally gross. Toilet appeared to be clean, however the floor did not seem to be mopped. The worse thing that really made us upset was what appeared to be blood spatter on the shower walls and a blood swipe on the light switch next to the bed. That was totally unacceptable, but we had no choice but to stay, as it was so late to find alternative accommodations. We reluctantly stayed. We were awoke countless times during the night from people congregating outside our window, going in an out of various rooms around us. Additionally, a dog from another nearby room kept yapping and barking at the activity along the walkway. An assumption, but drug dealing and use was happening. Overall, an absolute disappointment. Guests should not feel unsafe outside the room on the property, nor inside! Blood spatter and smears on walls and light switch, especially when the property appears to have frequent drug users as guests, is absolutely unacceptable. read more

If there was an option to give zero stars, I would. Horrible customer service right off the bat. Upon entering my NON-smoking room, I was greeting with a thick, pungent odor of smoke. One of the two beds had burn holes in the comforter and the other was horribly stained. I turned on the light to the bathroom, and....COCKROACHES. So I have stayed her a total of four nights and the first three nights were relatively quite nothing out side the ordinary of a motel 6 standard except the washer and dryers weren't working as well as the vending machine. The staff seemed friendly but on my last night here. People were dealing drugs out of there room with frequent visitors dragging their bikes up and down the stairs causing the tv to shake. I called the manager three times about the drug dealing room and the fight that was happening out side the room. The night lady said she would try to do something about it. But I learned the next morning when I made a complaint as why she didn't call the cops or try to do something about it. I learned that the oroville people don't respond to this motel because they see it as a waste of time which is really sad given they are duty bound to protect and server. The staff and guests of this hotel deserve protection. So given the fact the you can't even get a police officer to show up here is why I gave it a one star aside from the obvious apparent drug problem that this clearly lets reside here. read more

Not even worth a full star! We rode our motorcycles from out of town to the casino and my cousin ended up breaking her toe and we couldn't ride home. We called and made a reservation and at NO time did they disclose how disgusting their rooms are. When we got there the rooms comforter was seriously the grossest bed I've personally seen. We asked for another room, she gave us the handicap room downstairs. THIS room have a freaking hairball in the bathroom. Granted it is not a big hairball, but just the thought of the Uncleanliness of these rooms gave us the heebee jeebies! She said that we could get our money's back if we went somewhere else, and by golly we did! Doing some work in oroville and decided to stay here because you think you know what your getting at a motel 6 well everything was par for the corse except there air conditioning Situation ,there a.c was tied into one huge and very old a.c that pumped air into all the rooms and it sucked bad it was hot and steamy in our room all night even with our thermostat set to highest fan and coldest setting,luckily I bought a fan from Walmart!! Must be a halfway house, there is a bunch of people walking around and making noise, one guy walking in front of the rooms has an ankle bracelet on like a house arrest type. I had to wait to leave for the casino because the police were arresting some tweaker and we're parked behind us. We came back from the casino and the room was flooded because the lady said rain got into the ducting, she said if it's not to bad we could stay but we got another room which was just as well because the sheets were dirty. The shower is a tiny corner shower but it worked. The new non smoking room smelled super strong of Weed we could go on but I would just recommend not yous this place. Its nasty. There is no way around that. Drug addicts hang in the back parking lot. Non smoking rooms have burn marks in the sheets and blankets and i have yet to find a towel that didnt have either red or brown stains. It is however the cheapest place in the area and they allow dogs and cats with no additional fee. Why the 2 stars? I third party paid for this room for a family member and when I asked for the room number so I could call them and not bother her she said they couldn't release that info. I PAID FOR THE ROOM, I KNOW THE PERSON, it's my fucking credit card on the screen. But Sharon, with an attitude, refused to give me the room number after our previous call was disconnected. When they didn't answer when she transferred me again she was rude and said "Nobody is answering" and hung up on me. This hotel is pry the worst I ever stayed at in my lifetime. Its overcrowded, always has dirty kids in the dirty pool,i got into the pool one evening & The water was so cloudy i could barely see my toes! The weird space age looking shower capsule gets the floor wet when you shower. My shower experience was like no other. It felt like I was in a kids shoebox. No hair dryer, no coffee machine, 1/2 the lights did not work. It did have a small full size refrigerator that kept everything very cold. The air conditioner was the worst 1970's AC ever.Full blast couldnt keep a closet cold & smelt like a dusty farm animal. They couldnt even put the towel cabinet on straight. The bath towels were like stained stiff dish towels. Every guest looks like they are on drugs. At 2am guys are working on their cars in the parking lot. People here are constantly loud. I dont feel my car is safe here even when its parked directly in front of my room. And then our ceiling where the AC vent is started to leak dripping smelly slimy water on the floor. read more

Hot water kicks in after 10 to 12 minutes if the water is left running (yes, I timed it, as I thought I was a complete moron when being unsuccessful with the hot water for a few minutes). The bedding had dark grey stains as though someone decided to drag the comforter and sheets down the street for a while. Luckily for us, we had blankets in the car...actually, looking back, it would have been a better idea to just have slept in the car rather than stay at this Motel 6. It was rather over priced too, 55 bucks for a 1 bed room with 2 adults. I've stayed in hostels in Europe cleaner than this place. I came here pretty buzzed and easy to please. I know motel 6 is pretty scuzzy so had low expectations. I don't mind a small room with dated furniture and 30 year old blankets as long as its somewhat clean. It's about 4:30am as I write this... The office is closed and no ones at the desk or I would be long gone. When I check out I'm going to get some of my $80 a night refunded (not a typo it was $80 a night) so ill start it like this..... The old polyester blanket in my "non smoking" room has so many cigarette burns in it that have melted little hard holes on the blanket that when I first laid down I thought it was covered in fox tails. The room has no air conditioner so stays at a comfortable 140 degrees. It does have a fan with a wall plate that gives you hope that you can adjust the heat but no matter how many times you get up sweating your ass off in the middle of the night hoping that you just didn't see the AC adjustment you will always return to bed to a fanned 140 degree room.... Crack a window right? Well that's your only option... The motel is conveniently located right off the freeway. "Right off the freeway" so now I'm laying here listening to morning traffic speed and honk there selves to work..... Well I'm up for the day even though I haven't slept yet but ass soon as that office opens I'm raising hell!!! F....this place!!! It's not even that hot outside... How could it be so hot in here?????? For the price, it's okay. Good: clean, cheap, HBO, conveniently located, pool. Bad: no alarm clocks, weird and small shower (no tub), and no breakfast - just coffee. Also, wifi is an extra $2.99. All that said, it's good enough for my family of four! read more
