    Mold in shower room 220

Lol. Um. Where the hell am I? This place smells of urine and smoke. HEAVILY. We have 3 rooms and all of them are absolutely disgusting. The "suite" is literally just a double room. We were even charged 3x for one room. Not to mention the room key NEVER worked. We had to ask the front desk to help us every single time. We also had someone who is handicapped and this place is anything but handicap friendly. The only reason I would rate this higher than a 1 is the front desk woman named Ashley. She's very kind and is literally doing the best she can given the hand she's been dealt with this place. Do. Not. Rent. A. Room. Here.

This is how smokey it was from the fires.

I stayed here for one night after visiting my family who became displaced by wildfires. Like many other people who have stayed here, I just needed a basic room with no frills. That's what this is-a basic room. Our room was generously sized which is great. Unfortunately it was filthy and the bathroom had severe damage which was poorly repaired. The toilet seat was damaged and probably needed to be replaced years ago. The worst part about the room is the dirty linens. Nobody wants to sleep in dirty sheets and towel off after a shower with towels that look like they were used to wipe grease off an engine. This motel ranks among the top three worst I've stayed in. There's a concept called the Broken Windows theory which states that visible signs of crime, and civil disorder create an environment that encourages further crime and disorder. This is a great example of this principle in action. The room, which was advertised as non-smoking and had signs everywhere reiterating this policy, had cigarette burns on the bedding, the furniture, toilet, etc. All of this was counter-intuitive to the non-smoking message. This question is for the management: what do you think smokers think when they see cigarette burns everywhere? Do you think it's possible that they think it's ok to repeat this behavior? Just something to ponder.

If I could give it 0 stars, I would. Absolutely the most disgusting hotel I've ever stayed at. I knew it would be a dive but had to pick it because it was the only dog friendly hotel in Oroville, other than Motel 6. Check in was just fine. When we went upstairs, it started to reek of smoke. Our bedspread had stains, the blanket had stains (thank goodness we had a blanket in the car), plugs and 2 lamps didn't work, large holes in screen door, cigarette burns in bedspread, no bath towels.

Run!!!!! Trust me!!! I never complain and I'm pretty easy to please but this is disgusting!!! We needed and pet friendly hotel but I didn't even want my dog staying here...

    No shower curtain...

I would NEVER stay there again and even worse Priceline had them in the list.... Priceline should remove them as they are NASTY!!! There should be a no star rating!!! PROS: none CON: Room smelled bad. Pull out bed lattress was NASTY; all springs and very little cushion. The heater was not easy to use and we asked the front desk to turn on heat (cold day / night) they came and set it up and it never heated; we were cold all night long. The shower had no curtain and the hari drier was missing. All in all HORRIBLE Place. Refused to shower there since the room was so nasty; so went without shower or teeth brushing!!

No masks wore by cleaning ladies during our stay, broken ice machines, and non functioning elevator in a 3 story hotel no breakfast or coffee as advertised. Cigarette burns all over room.

    Roach

The staff her is weird. It's a shady area so you expect the customers to be rough. But the staff is also crazy and on the hard stuff. Please don't waste your time or money. It also has roaches. And reeks of dog poop.

This is the black mold in the bathroom above the toilet.

Against my better judgement I thought this place would be okay-ish enough to crash for the night. No need for a fancy room; just clean and safe. Well. It was neither clean nor safe. Do not under any circumstances stay here if you didn't travel with your own cleaning supplies and slippers. And your own bedding, but honestly just don't stay because the mattress was soiled too (no mattress protector). Filthy surfaces, black mold in the bathroom, soiled and stained bedding. Nasty carpet. I still can't believe I made it the six hours I slept in it. I was dead tired I guess from shooting a wedding. The 120 I paid should have been them paying me. And let's not talk about the amount of homeless situation. This area of oroville is overrun. Although I want to say maybe it's just the entire town? Stay in Chico is my advice.

    Roaches galore

This was the most disgusting hotel I have stayed at in over 56 years!! Roaches galore, blood on the mattress and walls, mold in the bathroom, dirty microwave, broken and exposed wiring with the fixtures, and the management didn't care! This is NOT a place to stay! Health department will be notified. VERY GROSS! See just some of the pictures I have attached.

Clogged shower that didn't go down

PROS: - Balcony - Free Parking CONS: - dirty rooms -clogged showers -dirty floors -dirty bed sheets -front desk lady was in a bad mood and arguing with someone on the phone and cursing

    Top of the bedsprwad

I give this review a 3 star only because Niki at the front desk showed empathy and consideration of my disability and let us check in an hour early. Now granted, we just got here, so no review of breakfast or the pool yet, but I'm sure this would not make a lot of folks not want to come back again. Wyndham, you are failing!! This should be a more economical place to stay and not look like it's falling apart!

Mold in one of our party's showers

The management of this site is horrendous. Our family was tripled charged for one room, and erroneously charged for another guest's room. Unlike other hotels who run your card when you arrive and put a hold on the anticipated amount of your stay, this place charges you upon arrival AND apparently charges you also when you leave. In addition, the entire hotel smells of cigarette smoke; there was large black mold in the shower of our family member's bathroom; our room keys and/or door locks didn't work; and the air conditioner in one of our party's rooms overheated, started smoking, then set off the smoke detector (no one from the hotel staff came to help or investigate). I'd rather sleep in my car then stay here again.

When they quickly but professionally gave me my room I walked through the hall and saw a mini gym, with a sauna and a hot tub.

The rooms were pretty clean. The house keeper makes sure everything is switched out everyday. The only problem was that not every room have WIFI. Also it cost $3.00 for the code to get the WIFI. But oh wells. The reason I was in Oroville was because my husband and I had two days off together (which doesn't happen often) and decided to go out and visit Feather River. We needed to find some where cheap and accept pets, quick. And we stumble upon Motel 6. Which was great because it was literally 2 blocks away from the river. We didn't really care which place we stayed at because it's not like we were going to be in the room much anyways. We just needed a bed and a shower. So Motel 6 was perfect because it was clean cheap and my dog was allowed.

Our power had been out at home for about two hours, and I was really looking forward to taking a hot shower since I had a migraine. My toddler was also on a sugar rush, so we just needed a comfortable, easy night. When we checked in, the front desk employee came off a bit crass at first. However, once I mentioned I had a reservation, his tone changed and he handed over our key cards. When we walked into the room, the temperature was comfortable, which was a relief. I set my bag down on the desk and noticed something move out of the corner of my eye. I crouched down and saw a small roach crawling along the wall. I then checked the chair under the desk and found a large roach. A few moments later, when my husband came out of the restroom, he spotted a medium-sized roach near the open closet/mini fridge area. That was enough for us. We left immediately. I returned to the front desk, handed the employee our key cards, and told him we found roaches in the room. He asked what room number we were in and then started looking for another room to switch us to. I declined and told him we were leaving. We just wanted a clean place to shower and rest, and unfortunately, this stay was not it.

Everyone was very friendly. This is an old roadside motel, but it is like brand new now.. The room I was in had been totally renovated. The room and the bathroom were spotless, and the room was a decent size. The heater kept the room at a good temperature. The motel's neighborhood had a power outage overnight that lasted about 5 hours, but the room still stayed at a comfortable temperature even with the heater not running. I slept like a baby and did not get cold. The room was very bright. No table lamps. Not including the bathroom, light, There are 4 lights built into the ceiling, each with it's own switch. You can make the room as bright or as dim as you want. There are also plenty of plugs to charge your gear. The TV had a good picture and got quite a few channels from Dish Network. The bed was very comfortable. There's a desk if you want to do some work, and there is also a coffee maker, as well as a fridge and microwave. When I first got there, there was a problem with the wi-fi. I called down to the desk, and they said they would reboot the router. After that, it worked great, with enough speed to stream video. Someone even came down to check to make sure it had been fixed. There were 2 minor things that I would normally take away a star for, but I was so satisfied, I'm going to leave this a 5 star review. The bed had 3 pillows, and they were kind of small. I normally sleep with 2 pillows. I had to use all 3 and it was fine. If there are 2 people, you may need to get more pillows from the office. The other thing, is that the bathroom floor can get slick, and there is no grab bar. There is a towel bar next to the shower, but I don't know how sturdy it would be as a grab bar Just watch how you are stepping. Just a fantastic stay. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks!!

My room (room 13) is not the reason for writing this review . . . a couple that I recommended this stay to apparently battled with bed bugs the 2 nights they stayed (3/15 and 3/16/2024). They were in room 15, and left Sunday morning with MANY bites around the ankles and on their legs. I would have prefered to email the Villa Court staff directly about this, but here I am because they have lined through their email address on their business cards and it is nowhere to be found on the internet. Interesting, at best . . .
