Welp I showed up with my sister after searching for a nice hotel to spend the evening! By the looks of their web page it was perfect! It said there was an indoor pool and jacuzzi as well as a restaurant! However upon arrival none of these items were available! Restaurant that was adjacent to the hotel was closed and the pool area has been closed for several years! I asked him for another recommendation in the area that had what we were looking for and he wasn't able to help us with any information! We did end up finding something that had what we were interested in! Guy was nice however they should update their website so it's accurate! read more

In the morning, the elevator was shut down, so a bit of a walk up and down. Bistro was closed, but starbucks isn't far. Our room was comfortable. Beds were very comfortable and very high, which I liked. You actually almost have to just fall into the bed, as, even if you are tall, it's almost impossible to reach unless you jump up or fall into it. With so much furniture ridiculously low, I appreciated the height. For some people, it may be difficult to reach. The Marriott does not provide breakfast, and during holidays, they do not have their food/drinks for purchase open. They also did not provide maid service, which we were not told about, so we had to come back down to the front desk to get more towels and supplies. For the price you pay at the Marriott, I expect more. read more

I cannot believe what I encountered in this Marriott hotel! The bathroom doors are rusted. Floors and bathtub are stained and dirty. I paid almost $500 for one night and learned a month from now the real rate is $169. They take complete advantage of guests coming to Chico, CA for a graduation. This hotel looks like it hasn't been updated in over 20 years. Last month I stayed in a suite with Hilton for the same price. It had been updated and very clean, with lots of amenities. I'm never taking a chance on another Marriott. Does nobody inspect the condition of the hotels????? read more

Front desk and breakfast staff are VERY friendly and professional. CLEANLINESS was an issue. Unfortunately, the room had borderline cleanliness. The bathroom floor was dirty (see photo). Outstanding customer service and check-in experience. Clean room and the bed was comfortable and high off the ground. The fridge worked and the temperature of the room was displayed on the alarm clock on the nightstand, which I found incredibly helpful and unique. Whilst it's not great if you're on-foot, if driving it's a very convenient location and easy to get to most points in Chico quickly. The spa and pool are unusable because it's too warm and the chlorine fumes are overwhelming. They have an outer door propped open with a carpet fan all day, but it doesn't help. The tree which I parked under dispensed so much sap on my car overnight I fear it may need a total detail. You can use the outdoor pool at the Marriott Residence property next door, but there's no shade and it gets quite hot in the summer. There's no EV charging here, but there's a ChargePoint station nearby on the other side of the highway. I didn't eat here, but they have cooked breakfast and other meals available. read more

This courtyard was okay, not great, not terrible. Front desk was friendly, bath tub looked very old though, didn't look very clean either, but that could have just been stains from over the years. I unfortunately was also booked in the room next to the laundry room so I could hear the machines shaking while washing/drying, which got pretty loud. Also pretty bummed about no room service, but they do have a restaurant in the lobby you can go and order food from. All in all a very okay stay, but for what I paid definitely would have hoped for a little more. read more

One of the worst courtyard Marriott I've stayed in. The rooms were disappointing. Couch and carpet had stains. The bed caved in the middle, definitely a worn mattress that needs replacing. The bathroom tub area and floor were dirty and had some cracks in it. No complementary breakfast. Even though I am an elite Marriott member, there was no welcome goodies at check-in as there usually is. Disappointed in Courtyard bc it doesn't compare to the quality rooms & value for my buck as I've had at Holiday Inn Express. The rooms, including the bathrooms, at Courtyard seem outdated & at Holiday Inn they're modern. I can't explain what makes the Courtyard rooms that give me that outdated feeling, it just does. And in this high tech world we live in I've come to expect USB ports in hotel rooms for charging a cellphone & tablet. Holiday Inn has them at the desk & the bed--none at Courtyard. I might be a bit picky, maybe I'm just a hotel snob, but that's how I feel. My experience at Courtyard is less than satisfying and I feel really good staying at Holiday Inn Express. read more

A long day in surgery in La as a traveling doctor. Then jump on a plane arrive at 9pm followed by an almost 2 hr drive to this hotel. Lets say iI was a bit tired. But as i walked in this gleaming smile of a lady named Angel greeted us and could NOT do enough! YES! As an ambassador to the marriot bonvoy..... courtyards are usually my last choice... BUT NOT THIS ONE! Managers have her train all your front desk staff for she, the room and the enviroment for a traveling doctor could NOT have been better. I stayed here last weekend for work, and I enjoyed my stay because of the friendly staff, especially Sara. She would even come check up on me when I was working alone on the booth and make sure I was hydrated! I kept asking her to fill my water bottle (didn't want the fruit infused one in the lobby) but she could have easily told me to fill it out myself since I didn't know you could drink tap water in Chico. She would walk across the lobby into the kitchen to do it for me until I realized it, and even after she would still ask me and help me with it. Definitely a big 5 stars for Sara. Everything was good-- except I wish breakfast was free with the stay. The kitchen food was overpriced and not good, as expected, so it was a bit inconvenient that I had to go get breakfast somewhere else instead of just come downstairs. read more

Disappoined in this Marriott. Was told, only when asked (when out of clean towels) they only provide maid service after a 3-day stay. Well, then maybe they should provide more than two towels in the room. When checking out, was told since i used a 3rd party booking service, she could not give me a statement of charges, How is that OK...They asked for my CC upon check-in, they should be able to provide a statement. I have had a few instances where a mystery charge was on my account. Much easier to deal with at the hotel. After pushing (and not willing to leave), I finally got the statement requested. read more

We came up for a mini trip up to Chico and stayed at this hotel. Although it wasn't downtown, it was pretty close by. Our room was pretty standard and although we didn't have a fridge, we liked the couch and lounge area. We used points to book the last minute trip and got a free stay, the room was nice. It's good to know you can use your points and get a good room. I routinely workout each morning, so I made use of the treadmills in the gym. They don't have much equipment, but I liked it. I didn't really get to the pool, since it was indoor and we had access to an outdoor pool at our friend's hotel. I bought breakfast from the cafe downstairs and brought it to our room. The egg white sandwich was sooo good. I ordered my guy a parfait, coffee and orange juice. Perfect little breakfast in bed. I would stay at the Courtyard again when visiting Chico. read more

#chico2014 Graduation weekend. Booked 3 rooms a year ago at a decent price (less than $150 I believe) This hotel is right off the 99 but a little far from downtown Chico. Let me start by saying their customer service from booking to checking in was top notch. Just so helpful and accommodating and patient. The lobby has been renovated recently and was very nice. Lots of space to hang out and a cute back patio area with a fire pit at night. Rooms are large with SUPER high ceilings however the walls are thin, the restrooms need repair and no fan do after showers it's way to warm and steamy. There is an indoor pool and hot tub but again there's no airflow in there and the noise level with screaming kiddos is not relaxing at all. They also have a small gym but I didn't see it being used. No free breakfast folks. This was a disappointment for sure. They have a cafe that offers breakfast food but its pricy. Fresh baked complementary cookies in the evenings is always nice and they do offer an evening Happy Hour pricing on beverages. Customer service is great but the noise level from other guests was not and I wish they offered breakfast complementary. But over all this is much nicer than many of the other options in Chico. read more

Stayed here while in town on business. Check-in and check-out were both quick and painless with a friendly employee. They have a little cafe where I picked up a meal during my stay -- a tuna salad sandwich and fruit. My room was clean and comfortable and they have some nice lobby seating which I utilized for a meeting. Free wi-fi is always a nice touch. read more

First off, this place is not clean. We have stayed here four nights now, and the exact same dirt and tiny pieces of paper that were laying in the hallway when we arrived here are still sitting there. I've never actually seen that level of neglect in a more upscale chain like this. Or even in a La Quinta or a Motel 6, frankly. The bottom of the bathtub has black residue in it, and the bathroom floor has black scuffs on it. There were hairs in the sink and in the bed. The drinking glasses are cloudy. And there is hard water residue in the coffeemaker. The final straw that drove me to write this review was my 1-year old daughter bringing me an old, dirty, Flamin' Hot Cheeto from...somewhere in this room. *gag* The TV doesn't work (turns on but no channels come up no matter what button I press), the walls are thin, and the garbage cans are so tiny it's hard to keep the room clean if you're staying here for any length of time. Okay, now for the good stuff: The room is attractive, and the bed is VERY comfortable. We've slept great on it. The couch is also cute and very comfortable. The A/C works great, keeps it nice and cool in here. Plenty of power outlets for phone/computer/tablet charging. Nice Paul Mitchell toiletries in the bathroom. Has fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Pretty quiet when you don't have someone in the room next to you blasting their TV or out in the hall yammering away. Attractive lobby, 24-hour Dutch Brothers in walking distance, and easy access to the freeway. read more

We have stayed in many Courtyards over the years and our experience at this location was definitely the worst. The staff seemed indifferent to our concerns. Apparently, we needed to request maid service. We returned to our room late the first night of our stay and found the room unmade. We called the front desk about the situation, there was no apology offered. A new box of Kleenex was provided by the maid on the 2nd day of our stay but all the tissue was stained red as if a glass of wine had been spilled into it. Again, when we brought it to the attention of the front desk there was a token apology but no real concern. We have come to expect Courtyards to be clean in both the public areas and guest rooms. In this Courtyard, the carpet in the elevator was stained and in our guest room the bathroom door was dirty. We will most likely stay at this Courtyard again as it is the best option in Chico and we are Marriott reward members at the Silver level. However, we're hoping that management examines the service the front desk employees are providing as well as the cleanliness of the hotel and bring it up to Marriott standards. read more

I didn't catch her husbands name but he was cool to. 2 both down to earth people. Really nice. We will definitely make this our go to spot next time in town. The room was very nice, but I was dissatisfied with cleanliness of the bathroom. I wiped up some water in the bathroom after a shower, and it was covered with dirt. Also, it looked like there was mold (or discolored grout) in several places in the shower. Wore flip flops, second time I showered. Staff was friendly and efficient. One snafu, the charged me the full rate, even though I should have been the corporate rate. Took awhile to rectify. read more

We rolled up in to this place and I exclaim, "Wait, we HAVE been here before! Remember this is where we tried to eat dinner but then they no longer had real food and they instead charged us $20 for a plate of reheated frozen chicken strips? And then that lade started talking to you about how she was so depressed after giving birth that she was seriously thinking about driving over a cliff with her baby in the back seat?" It was just about getting dark and the 3 of us had been sitting in the car for the past 3 hours stuck be hind a coughing and sputtering very slow car on 99. What should have been 2 hours and 45 minutes max was easily 3. We were hungry, tired, cramped and I needed to pee really badly. The counter people were really friendly and checked us in quickly even though we said that we wanted to check in and ask about a good thai place, not necessarily in that order. The guy at the desk was more than happy to draw us a little map to the most delicious Thai place in the world. Cocodine Thai. Go read my review and marvel at how we found the one thing that did not suck in Chico. The rooms were clean enough even though a fan wasn't working in the bathroom. This meant that after showers, it was balmy and steamy in there. I asked for a fridge but it was broken. The girls at the counter offered to let us put stuff in the staff fridge downstairs. My gripe is that the walls were beyond paper thin. I could hear what the person upstairs was WEARING. I could hear what they were thinking. I could hear their movements before they even know they had the urge to move. It was like being in the same body as them except with really big ears and a migraine. One of my co-workers the next day asked, "Did you see all the sexy fire fighters in the hall, on the floor? Did any one see them? Any one? Yeah, me neither." The beds were comfortable as Marriott beds are wont to be. The breakfast it not free and I imagine not very good The microwave is not available only in the hall in front of the elevator and they will not let you have it in your rooms. This lead to a few occasions of showing strangers what kind of late night cravings haunt your stomach. There is a small section of junk food off to the left of the front desk that resembles a qwik-e-mart. Pop Tarts, Hot Pockets, Cup Noodles, Haagen-Daz, either someone is really pregnant or they are trying to gain 30 pounds for a movie roll opposite Steve Carroll. Also right in front of the elevators is a coffee kiosk with thermoses of hot water (for hot chocolate or tea) and coffee. Serve yourself, just don't steal it. Is it just me, or are the pillows to soft even though there are 5 of them and they are all down? Fluffy, but soft. read more

The most important things you need to know about this place: NO FREE BREAKFAST NO FRIDGE IN THE ROOM TO KEEP YOUR STUFF COLD EITHER I don't know who authorized this crap, but it really chapped my hide. Maybe all Courtyard's are this way and I just didn't know. Kind of a deal breaker. I wouldn't have booked if I had known, but I didn't see this info when I searched the reviews. Another annoying thing. Came home one night to find football on TV in the lobby. Sweet! I can watch football in my room right? NOPE. The good channels are only in the lobby. Upstairs you're stuck watching basic cable in standard DEF on a flatscreen TV. And we all know how much that sucks. This hotel is an old building with a cheap facelift. The automatic doors slam loudly when closing. The luggage cart is as rickety as a rope suspension bridge. The elevator takes an hour and doesn't seem to care whether you pressed down or up (stops both ways). All-in-all you won't catch herpes from this hotel. It's clean and neat and I thought the beddings/towels were fine. But it's just a no-frills place off the side of the highway. Def not worth the $120/night I paid for it. read more

I usually have good luck here but this morning I ordered my breakfast and coffee, I got my coffee but they forgot my breakfast and served a half a dozen customers after me I ran out of time, so I checked out and told the front desk about my situation and to make sure, not to charge me for breakfast. If you have a choice between the Courtyard or the Residence Inn, go with the Residence Inn. They're next door to each other. The Courtyard was fine - mostly clean, friendly staff, parking available for free, small gym, small indoor pool/hot tub, some food for sale. For me, it was missing a few things -the towels were very thin, the temperature control in the room was a little hard to figure out, some parts of the room seemed 'less clean', there was space for a mini bar yet no mini bar existed. Overall - if you can't get into another one of the hotels in the area, this one will suffice just fine. read more

Wow! This one is brand new, and definitely one of the nicest Marriott hotels I've been to. The lobby has the sleek modern look in red. There is a cafe/bar with 3 booths, and each booth has its own built-in flat screen TV! Wow, Chico! Really stepping it up here. There is a lounge towards the back side of the lobby, with circular sofa seating that seems to be hardly used. A sign reads "Boarding Pass" with an airplane picture can really trip you up too-- only if the airport could be this pleasant! Free wifi. Try to book the breakfast special, if you can. It's about the same price, and you get a coupon for the breakfast in the morning, including its very own Starbucks coffee. There is also an indoor pool and spa, though I don't dare using hotel spas these days. The gym is open 24 hours, but there were no weights in there... just three treadmills and a pilates ball. For $114 a night, this was well worth the price. read more

We were really disappointed in our stay (September 4-6, 2014). As experienced business and leisure travelers we usually like the Courtyard brand. This Chico motel fell short. In ALL Courtyards I've stayed in prior, the room had a refrigerator. This room did not. Some of the Courtyard's we stay in have microwaves. This room did not. In the vast majority of Courtyard's we stay at - the bathroom is clean and well kept. Not at this place. Our tub had big indentation on the bottom of it, and we found four small hairs. YUCK!!! From a warm greeting by name, to offering our large party extra towels and pillows as we came back for the evening (so we wouldn't have to come back down if we realized we needed something). She got the TV working in the bar, offered us warm cookies in the afternoon and generally made our stay here terrific. Easy check-in, but we had to wait 30 minutes for our room to be cleaned...and it was still pretty dirty. Fan in the bathroom wasn't working, and the mattresses felt like sleeping on cement. (We had a newly renovated room, too) Their little lobby restaurant, the "Bistro," was WAY overpriced and not very good. The pool was super nice, which was the highlight for sure. The hot tub was dark green and very scary. It actually smelled like hobo feet. NO JOKE! Overall disappointing for the cost. Probably won't go back. read more

My 16 year old daughters and I stayed here on an impromptu trip to see the CSUC campus. The staff at the front desk were friendly, the room has a fridge and microwave, lots of space for the three of us, fun view of the mini golf next door, and pretty courtyard to enjoy when things cool down. I preferred drinking the purified water from their work out area. The indoor pool had no circulation with fresh air or ac. My 4 star rating is strictly because the air around the pool was not pleasant. A bonus was having Dutch Bros across the street. read more
