Staff is snotty and disparaging, told me to wait to get into my room (non-working key) while they did a "shift change" at 2:15 PM. They basically vacuumed the 10'x10' waiting area and bullshitted with each other for a little while. Cops were there, I don't know why and I'm sure I don't want to know. Definitely too much action to take the one minute of time it would take to reset my room key. Lots of noise from adjacent rooms and parking lot activity at all hours. Not a terrible place if all you want is a box with a mattress to close your eyes for a while. And shower. And they did leave the light on for me. read more

Well, it was super cheap, but it was very creepy on the last night there (6/4/25 - 6/5/25) because we got back about 10:30pm-11pm and there was a shirtless man just sitting in the parking lot as we drove in, a man with an orange reflective vest walking to his room staring at me almost his whole walk once I had parked and exited the vehicle, and another man just standing and staring out his window that we both noticed as we parked. Also, whatever was going on at 2:30am that same night was making the dog yap. I don't think all that ruckus was really necessary and wish this place had security to regulate on those creepers. My fiancée called it "s*i**y lodging." There was no mini fridge or microwave except the microwave by the lobby vending machines. I know it's a motel but yeesh. They went as low end as possible. Not even much of a wardrobe or closet, since the hangers just fall off the rack. I get that they need to prevent theft of hangers but there's no point of even having a bar with attaching hangers if the hangers just fall off aka they simply don't work. Bottom line: If you want to be as cheap as possible, then this is for you. If you want to be well-accommodated, secure, and able to refrigerate and reheat leftovers without using your own cooler as a questionable ice box and having the leftovers smelling like Bubba's fried chicken after using the communal microwave, pay the $10-20 more per night and sleep elsewhere. Lily at the front desk is visibly angry and hostile. She will threaten prior to offering help. She clearly hates her job, thus the customers. My room had pee in the toilet and a puddle of pee on the floor. Lily seemed more concerned in enforcing parking spaces without signage. I did not contest her unilateral authority but was still bombarded and harassed with undue threats off towing and eviction. I l led by example and did not speak to her with anger or make threats towards her. I have a degree of empathy for her because her life clealry sucks, its doubtful she is paid enough to care. I won't be a customer of motel 6 again so I don't personally care much either, I'm better then this and can pay for a better brand. Only poor and desperate people arr willing to be treated the way Lily likes to treat people. The poor are accustomed to treating people like crap and being treated like crap. When I arrived at the property, I was greeted by Bear in person--and that's when great service became outstanding. Bear was welcoming, calm, and genuinely respectful. You could immediately tell he takes pride in what he does. The check-in process was smooth, efficient, and professional. He handled everything with care, making sure I had all the information I needed and that I felt comfortable and taken care of. What really impressed me was his presence--confident without being overbearing, friendly without being fake. Bear is the kind of person who brings dignity to customer service. He's clearly someone who values people and wants them to have a positive experience. In a world where good service can feel rare, Bear stands out. Stayed here @ this motel 6 last month. Very bad experience. First the front desk clerk checking me in lets me no she is living with a couple and their kids with her elementary age daughter and is having sex with the couple as her lifestyle and her husband that she left isn't liking that. She also told me she couldn't drive and lead the impression that her lifestyle was a way of getting by. It only gets better from there. NOT. So when I go to leave I cleaned up the room super tidy as I only was there for like 8 hours or so. Saw the room maid and asked if she had change for a $20 she then proceeds to try & swindle me, which I won't go into every detail but the $ was for her tip. And I still stayed the course & gave her a $8 tip right up front there. So I leave with my two dogs that I have stayed at many other Motel 6's with no issues and I see later a $100 charge on my debit card. I call and they tell me that because I used a towel to wipe the floor & because I have dogs they charge that as an extra fee to replace the towels and bedding. I have two Labradors. I put a blanket of my own over the bed for them to lay on. The said the manager would call me back and I called twice over spaced 4 - 5 days apart and definitely shady, greedy, dishonest business practices. There was absolutely no justification for the $100 charge, I didn't even come close to pay that room rate the room through the Motel 6 app. Also I paid a lower price initial thru the Motel 6 app, and I feel this is there way to get extra revenue by force. So if you want to be shared with abnormal behavior as a lifestyle when you checkin into a motel and play the victim to see if you get a extra gouge out of your monies, here is the place to go. Reserved an ADA/wheelchair accessible room. Anything but! In order to access the room, had to squeak through 2 very tight doorways that are angled and needed assistance lifting the chair to get through. Once through the doorway jungle, 2 steep downward ramps downward await you (with a tight landing between. And then you are greeted by your room door. That entrance is the only thing wheelchair accessible about this room. Furniture configuration is tight in spots and does not allow for turning easily. A whole lot of maneuvering is required. Imagine parallel parking in a hectic downtown area and there's only 1 lil spot left. Getting around this room in a wheelchair is that x10. The bed... Hard to transfer in and out of. Sliding in from a standard wheelchair is not for a newbie user. As the bed is higher, one must slide uphill which goes against therapy training. The bed is hard, feels like you are laying on uncomfortable springs of old. This is not a motel I'd recommend to anyone, chair bound or otherwise. read more

Checked in for one night; around 9 PM, some very loud noises from upstairs continuously occurred. Hoping it would go away, I waited until it didn't stop and I could not take it anymore. I tried to call the front desk, but I could hear them -- they couldn't hear me. So I had to go to the front desk and complain. Demetria wasn't very understanding or helpful at first and thought the noise was "normal". I asked if they had kids or something, since it sounded like a stampede. Then she looked them up and so there was a dog on the 3rd floor! Then she offered me another room, but wanted to charge me $10 extra for it! I said no, that's double punishment; finally she relented, but not after hassling me regarding the old and new room key cards. Where to even start. My family of 4 booked this hotel for a almost 4wk stay due to relocating to the area for my husband's work. So we wanted something that would allow dogs & not cost a ton while looking for housing. Apparently that was the wrong thing to be worried about. On our 2nd or 3rd day there, I was verbally attacked by another guest of the hotel while out walking our dogs with our kids. I was alone with them as my husband was at work. After yelling at the man to leave us alone & not getting any assistance from the motel staff that was apparently standing around the corner from us, we went back to our room, only to receive a phone call from the front desk stating that I would be forcibly removed by the police if I wanted to continue to attack other guests! She didn't ask what happened or why I was yelling at the man, only stated I would be taken away, even after telling her I didn't start the ordeal & was out there with my kids being attacked... she then tried to tell me no one was attacking my children & she saw everything on her cameras... I guarantee she didn't hear anything that was being said to us. The man was not removed & proceeded to sit in his vehicle for our entire stay on a daily basis, just watching everything we did. The only reason we didn't move out that day was because of other hotel availability & the options available for people with more than 2 dogs for long term stays. Now on to the "quality" of the room.... Also lacking. Even the faux wood floors were separated & would catch the bottom of your feet if you weren't thinking about it. The shower stall was barely large enough for my 7yr old to shower properly, if you turned around in it, the shower curtain would flop over the edge of the shower & start to flood the room. The towels that were in the room had hair all over them, we ended up digging our own out of our packed boxes to use since you couldn't guarantee we could get new ones even every other day... even after calling ahead like we were told to do. I also ended up buying our own toilet paper to have on hand because each time I went to get more I was told we were only allowed one roll at a time.... For a room with 4 people in it?! No thanks. In general the room was just tiny & not as pictured online. (Definitely under 200sqft). We had to also screw the top lock back onto the door. Oh and we also had to buy extra pillows to use when we realized one of our sets got left in a storage unit 5hrs away & the motel was unable to provide any spares. There's not even a coffee maker provided & the fridge was beyond tiny. I could continue, but bottom line, if you plan to stay more than a night or 2, don't bother. And be aware that there are some extremely questionable people staying in the hotel on a regular basis. read more

BEWARE: There is a train that goes by several times during the night & blows the whistle!! It could be heard over the air conditioning unit. This Motel 6 was pretty clean & comfortable. I did find 2 little bugs is the night stand drawer, and managed to kill one. I thought the bed was a bit hard, but my husband said he liked it. The room was clean. The bathroom was too, with the exception of the the mat in the bath tub. It had seen better days & had black around the outside of it. We made the mistake of getting a ground floor room because we didn't want to carry our luggage up a flight of stairs. I heard the the guy above us all night long. I stayed two separate nights since this place, WEST Motel 6, did the trick. It was $54.99/night in June 2013. I did not use the Wifi at a $2.99 charge since I pay for Internet on my iPad. I had full "bars" on my devices since it is right off the I-5 interstate. Motel 6 is pet friendly with NO fees for a dog, no questions about a dog. The West Motel 6 is in a safe part of town, easy access to freeway, right next to Burger King and 1/2 block from other food and gas businesses. The Bridgeport Mall is on the other side of the freeway, if memory serves, and Fred Meyer (like a Super Target) is one exit down towards Salem. New to town? Make Fred Meyer your friend! They sell food, sunglasses, clothes, whatever you forgot or need. There are two separate Motel 6 businesses across the street from one another. One says WEST (this one), and one says EAST (the other). WEST is a hotel style with three floors, EAST is a motel style where you can drive your car right up to the door of an assigned room. West is on the freeway side (noise was minimal, but I do have a sound machine) in between a newly (?) remodeled Burger King and "Stars". East has a laundromat on site with access with a "key" (room key). West does NOT have guest laundry on site.....but the next exit down (#289?) the freeway towards Salem (away from Portland) has a good laundromat with everything you would ever need including a pin ball machine, TV, recycling bins, bathroom - and a Fred Meyer across the street! East seems to be where truckers go because the parking lot has room for their rigs. West seems to be more for regular people with cars. I was quite happy here. The staff were good at helping me, they have ice machines and vending machines, windows were open regularly I assume to air the place out since it is a very wet region. They were carpet cleaning when I left one day and keep the place very clean. I would definitely stay again! read more

The room was fine, pretty standard motel 6 room. But I was not happy with the staff or the stay. I paid for 2 nights when I checked in. Then got woken up by incessant knocking (not even time to put on a mask and make it to the door before my 6 year old was woken up), in the morning so they could do a "safety check" on the room. Basically they had to come in and see the smoke detectors, saying lots of people remove them so they can smoke. So my kid was woken up rudely, my cat ran out the door and I was obviously upset. When you pay $85/night for 2 nights, you should not have to worry about housekeeping or anyone waking up your family, especially the first morning of your stay! Evacuating fires was enough for us, I won't stay here again. Then when I called the front desk to talk about it, I was not met with much understanding, empathy or patience. Let me start by saying that I have never been treated so poorly as I was tonight at the Motel 6 in Tigard. I really hope that what happened to me was an anomaly and not the Motel 6 way of doing business. I travel all over the country working in dog sports and have stayed in many hotels in the last 12 years. I am currently traveling with my service dog of the last 7 years, a service dog in training, and a pet dog and have never had a single problem. My dogs are extremely well behaved, frequently groomed, seasoned travelers and I have never had difficulty with any hotel accommodating my service animal. When I attempted to check in to your hotel, the front desk clerk was extremely rude to me because your policy says two pet dogs are allowed. I explained to her that a service animal is exempt from this policy by ADA law because it is not a pet, it is a necessary medical device. Immediately, she got very aggressive with me and accused me of lying. She demanded I provide proof in the form of a service dog certification. I explained to her that those cards she was referring to are off Amazon and not official. Normally, I do have one but as my dog gear was stolen last weekend from an event venue, along with $3,000 worth of equipment, I do not have his badge or even his vest, which I explained to her. In addition, when I told her if it was going to be an issue I'd go, but I would have to report the ADA violation, she decided to call her manager. The manager told her to rent me the room, I suspect because she didn't care enough to learn the law. Then, the clerk picked up the receiver, said uhuh a couple times and ok and hung up. Then, she proceeded to tell me she would rent the room to me but they were also going to put me on the "do not rent" list and charge me $150 if there was any fur whatsoever in the room. I explained to her again that they were violating ADA law and I would be reporting it. She then told me she wouldn't rent me the room if I was going to report them. When I left, I told her that it didn't have to be like this, and she responded by saying, "yes it did because you're lying. " and I walked out the front door at that point. I have reported the incident to U.S. Department of Justice for discriminating against me based on disability. I strongly urge your company to take the time to educate all of your employees on ADA law, especially if you plan on being the "pets stay free" hotel which will attract those of us who have service animals as well as pet dogs. Brief summary of violations: 1. Applied "pet" rules to a service animal 2. Demanded proof of service animal certification 3. Refused service based on presence of service animal 4. Promised to penalize me if I stayed the night with my service animal 5. Accused me of "lying" about my service animal 6. Refused service to me because I would be reporting the discrimination I sincerely hope Motel 6 is as dismayed by the staff at this branch as I am. It is important to know that not all disabilities are obvious, and just because you can't see mine, doesn't make me a liar. I wonder how many other disabled people have been mistreated by the staff in this location? Please use this experience as a teachable moment, and educate your staff on what they can and cannot do and say with regards to ADA Compliance. I know I learned a lot and will not be recommending Motel 6 to any of my clients, and customers going forward, regardless of the "pets stay free" tag line. I know that they would not want to support a company that openly violates ADA Law. read more

We stayed from 10/11/22-10/13/22. The room reeked of (lemon?) antiseptic and one of the bedroom wall lights near the microwave didn't work. The staff didn't clean the room on the second day (Wednesday). My wife called the front desk and they told us that the rooms were only cleaned on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Had to go to the front desk to get more towels since we placed the others on the floor as requested for cleaning. When we got back to our room at the end of Thursday, the staff STILL hadn't cleaned the room. We also heard water dripping somewhere from upstairs over the sink (potential water damage/mold problem), people stomping/walking LOUDLY in the room above us and constant slamming of the entrance door to the hallway during the night. Paid just $65 for a huge King bed room. Very friendly staff. Room was way nicer than I expected (due to the price), the desk layout is sweet. Very clean. EVERYTHING is around here.. safeway is across the street along with a ton of places to eat. You can even walk 400ft (next door) to the #1 Yelp place to eat in the area (Millers). There is also a 24hr fitness across the street. The ONLY thing I can knock it was that the Wi-Fi wasn't free. You have 2 options , $2.99 PER 24hrs (speeds were .5 up and .5 down) or $4.99 PER 24hrs, i'm assuming speeds are 2/2. Still a 5 star.. read more

I had a reservation at the Motel 6- Portland West location. When I came in to check in for my reservation I spoke with the employee- at the front desk and they were very accommodating and pleasant and during the check-in asked me what my license plate number was on my car. Being that I did not know off the top of my head, I told them I would take a picture and come right back which I promptly did but when I re-entered the lobby there was a woman mid 50s long blonde hair, Who was headstrong into menacing The check in employee, This woman called the employee hostile names like "cxnt" and a "bitch" and was demanding that The employee "respect her!" She kept saying the employee, "needed to respect her and to respect "us" said employee-looked to me to be Latinx and everyone else in the room was white. " I was shocked appalled and triggered by her aggressiveness and stepped in and told her to "stand down" "get back" "leave her alone" and when I did so, blonde haired woman to me that I "was only protecting her because I was gay" as if I were protecting her for reasons other than she was being attacked?! This to me proved in that moment that this incident was a hate crime, motivated by race. Why would anyone protect her? Because she was being attacked! What would her assumption of my sexual orientation have anything to do with why I chose to defend a victim of verbal assault? Insinuating I must have ulterior motives to stand up to injustice. It was insulting and triggering for me and I knew she was at that point willing to do anything to prove her superiority, so I at that point I squared up with her shoulder to shoulder and said "leave now" "get out"! "if you touch me you're going to jail" and diverted her attention away from the employee She at that point began threatening me w physical violence, told me she'd "kick my ass" and kept yelling at me,  "do something!" That continued to escalate, and we had a continual stare down for what seemed like forever at which point Roger, the general manager appeared from the hallway, and yelled at told us to separate and told her to "go back to her room"! She tried to make excuses and said that she was being treated badly, which clearly was not true but after Roger yelled at her multiple times to go back to her room, she finally complied. I personally felt that her behavior was racially motivated. She is a hateful bigot that believes she is superior and justified in her behavior and because of that, she is dangerous. After all of this I felt like both The employee and I would be in danger, and was very angry to find out that Roger allowed this woman to stay for the night and rewarded her terrible behavior w a 2nd chance to do the same thing again and it was clear to me that Roger had sympathy for her. Appalling! Later that night I did see her and she was walking through the motel inside, without a mask on, against policy and against the governors orders! I was and continue to be disgusted at the end result! Both Carmen and myself were menaced! I don't feel safe in the hallway coming and going and won't until that monster is gone from the premises! I can only hope that she doesn't have any weapons on her person or is not carrying COVID 19! If anything in addition happens I hold the general manager, Roger Wightman personally responsible for allowing her to stay. Terrible! When I saw her still at the motel, I called Roger and asked why she was still here, expressed my fears, and he dismissed my concerns, told me I shouldn't be trying to tell him how to run his business! Motel itself is fine considering that it is a Motel 6 and the neighborhood is sketchy. Simon, the manager, was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and decent, no frills. However, I never received my deposit back and I can't recommend a place that doesn't give its customers back their deposits--it's no different from stealing money. I talked to the manager, Simon, the corporate Motel 6, and my own bank, and still the deposit money has not been returned and this should be a big red flag for anyone who books a room at this place. read more

Stood here for a night on my way back home. The rooms were clean. The bed was comfortable. good enough for a good night's rest before a long drive home. It's a motel 6 and was cheaper than most, so nothing really to complain about. Yeah it's no fancy hotel but for the price it was good for me. Plus my room had a mini fridge and a microwave, something bigger hotel's don't have at least not for free. Staff was friendly. Parking was decently lit. Most important detail: NO HOT WATER. My fellow guests and I awoke to the entire property not having hot water and were told it was "out again" and that it frequently happens. We enjoyed our five night stay at this Motel 6. It's a busy location but it was clean and fairly newly remodeled. The staff was nice and accommodating. When booking the room weeks ahead of time we requested a first floor room due to some physical limitations. When we arrived there were no rooms left on the first floor. As a result, they discounted our price by $50 and promised to have a first floor room for us early the next day, which they did. The motel is located within walking distance to a number of restaurants and stores. We will definitely stay here again. read more

Location was great, room was visually clean and front desk lady was very nice. The reason for the two stars is the smell. It smelled so bad when we walked into our room. It smelled like super concentrated thrift store funky smell. Kind of a mixture between cigarette smoke and sweat. I started coughing during the night so didn't get good sleep. It cost about $70 a night here and they have no free breakfast so by the time you buy breakfast, you've spent $100 easy. This place was pretty damn shoddy.. We stayed here as a last resort, and I kind of would have preferred sleeping in my car. Everything felt relatively dirty, the bathroom was TINY. Seriously tiny. I was afraid to lay my towels anywhere, or my clothes anywhere, it all seemed that filthy. There were stains on the carpet, the bedding felt like it had layers of grime caked on. The tv was an old, big-backed thing from the 80's, apart from it being practically unwatchable from how deteriorated the cable quality was, nothing but static. No elevator, so we had to climb three flights of stairs. The wifi wasn't free, and if you wanted "faster" wifi, you had to pay even more. When we pulled up there was a big group of people hanging out in their pj's, smoking and drinking by the back door, was a little intimidating. Didn't feel like a good part of town, or a good place in general. Would never stay here again. Dirty, unsafe, old. At least I didn't see any bugs - given enough time I'm sure I would. read more

I've stayed at many a hotel and motel. This one was mediocre at best. It's pet friend'll which is nice. The people at the desk were decent. Oh and the bass from the Stars strip club next door can lull you sleep in the wee hours of the morning. Overall not bad. We stayed in the business room so we had a fridge, microwave, and a king bed. The bathroom was tiny and the water pressure sucked. Personally I'd spend the few extra bucks and go somewhere else. read more
