This was supposed to be a short stop over on our way to Quebec city. Instead, I'm already trying to…read morethink of when I can come back. The place is beautiful, the photos do not do the rooms justice, and the breakfast is simply phenomenal. The hosts were really nice and stayed up to accommodate us driving in late. The rooms are well appointed, the bathrooms nice and clean. The grounds of the place is beautiful, lots of wildflowers, and next to a lake. Did I mention the three-course breakfast? Local jams with turkey pate, waffles with lots of wonderful fruits, freshly squeezed orange juice, and a crème brûlée grapefruit. I'm sad I didn't get to spend as much time here this time, but definitely planning to come back for a longer stay next time.

Manoir De La Rue Merry is the very best kind of BnB. This is like staying in a high end hotel where…read morethere are only 4 rooms and they are cozy and beautiful and the owners are kind and thoughtful and professional and incredible cooks who take pride in local product. The location is ideal for Magog, you're right by the cute bridge by the cute park and beach and the awesome local brew pub is a few steps away and so is the Rue Principale, ie; main street, with other cute restaurants and shops. The bed was super comfortable, the sheets and pillows were so deeply cosy, the room had it's own clean, nice little bathroom. There is a fireplace downstairs in a common room that connects to a whole hallway of maps and guidebooks for the region. The dining room is full of light and set with lovely cutlery, white table cloths, lace curtains, so calm and sunny and lovely. The owner will serve you coffee and juice in a champagne glass and then a 4 course beautiful breakfast which by the way, she made. She's happy to tell you about the different jams and preserves, the local cheeses and meats she's using, etc. She's calm and sweet and generally makes you feel at home, without that awkwardness... Because let's be real, I'm not always a fan of the bed and breakfast, sometimes this can be weird with weird forced interactions with strangers and mediocre food made by non-food professionals. The Merry Manor is the opposite, it's the best, so friendly and intimate and awesome, and I'll be back for sure.

Although the place shows a tired look, it was reasonably clean. The suite was spacious with a small kitchenette equipped with a fridge, toaster oven, coffee maker, basic cutlery and glassware. There is an outside gas BBQ and some garden chairs. The highlight of this place, in my opinion, is the open air hot tubs which we were very fond of, especially with the freezing cold air temperature outside. There is also a non heated outside swimming pool which was unfortunately closed due to recent high wind. Inside is a swimming pool and a hot tub. Dinner at the restaurant was exquisite. Service impeccable. Best Pudding Chômeur ever. Breakfast, the next day, was well over expectations in terms of the variety ranging from pancakes on order to smoked salmon, hot dishes like beacon, sausages, potatoes and an impressive variety of other yummies too many to mention. So many desserts. A feast for the eyes. Would totally recommend this place.

Room was set up well we had a suite with our own balcony that had the view of the mountain for $ 45 more. View was great but I wouldn't pay for it again. We had a BBQ so on our second night we went in to town to make some surf & turf. There's 4 hot tubs outside and 1 pool inside with a hot tub as well. Large pool outside is closed in the winter as it's seasonal. There's a huge sauna and a quiet meditation room which I didn't like it wasn't warm enough and the chairs don't have cushions and the fire place is barely lit. We had a great time but we didn't eat at the hotel as I had surprise reservations at fondissimo. ( fondue ) everything closes at 11 pm hot tubs, bars, restos close before 10 pm including room service. I had a great relaxing time and can't wait untill our next visit!

We stayed at the Drummondville Quality Suites and were very pleasantly surprised at…read morethe...well...quality of our stay! The front desk was fast, friendly and efficient, and the room was large and well appointed. The mini- kitchen station was nice though we didn't use it, but the TV stood out because it was a current model, and a great size. The bed was firm, and there was a decent selection of different pillow types. The bed was pretty funky, as it had a built-in system to gently vibrate, and provide soothing background sounds like waves. The bathroom was large, with a modern whirlpool tub with about 30 jets! A hot breakfast was included in our price. We've stayed in "luxury" hotels that did not provide this level of comfort and pizzazz for 3 times the price, so we were very happy with our experience, and actually hope for an opportunity to return!

Well, if you need to spend the night in Drummondville, Quebec, Canada, there are not a lot of…read morerecognizable choices. Except Choice Hotels. Choice Hotels is a conglomeration of lower priced hotel chains somewhere between Days Inn/Best Western, and the lower name brands of the majors chains from Hilton, Starwood or Marriott. Choice Hotels would include Clarion, Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality, Sleep Inn, and Mainstay Suites. They do have a frequent guest program, called Choice Privileges. Is Choice the chain with the Johnny Cash singing commercial with "I've been everywhere, man!"?? I could do my own rendition of that song. However, I haven't stayed at that many "Choice" Hotels! Quality Suites Drummondville is new, less than 5 years old, and the rooms are in pretty new condition, with acceptable furnishings, adequate lighting and outlets, a double queen suite with 2 lounge chairs, a desk, a Fridge, Microwave, and wet bar. Only 1 TV, however, and 1 closet by the door. There is a glass wall and door between the two beds. Not good for 2 business people, but maybe good for a family. The good thing is that breakfast and WiFi are complimentary with your room rate. The bad thing is with a rate of about $100 CAD, which is a corporate rate, it isn't cheap for being in the boonies; the breakfast is contiental and with only canned fruit, and the walls are a little thin. This is a 100% non-smoking hotel of 4 stories, and it reminds me a lot like a Homewood Suites or a smaller Hampton Inn from Hilton. They even use the same shower curtain with the peek-a-boo gauze panel. Aside from its parochial green/gold/olive/beige decor, the building itself has a facade to make it look like a traditional French Country Manor ,with faux blue tiled, trapazoidal roof and decorative window shutters. In reality, this is no French Manor, au contraire mon frere! No French maids here with little feather dusters in skimpy black outfits, mais non! Just simply a business travellers rest stop. Service is congenial.
