On Dec 16th my grandson and his friends drove to Idaho Falls, Id to visit with a friend. Before they left they got a room at this hotel. When they got there the attendant would not let them stay because they were all only 18. He refused to give a refund and made them leave the hotel. I understand if it's their policy to not let people under the age of 21 stay but they need to refund the money back. I checked out their website and no where on it does it state that you have to be 21 to stay there. Nor does it state that if you make a reservation and are under the age of 21 they will refuse a refund and you will not be able to stay. This is a horrible thing to do. My grandson and his friends were scared and worried.I sent them money and they were able to secure another room but this was a really crappy thing to do and a horrible experience! The walls are cinder block but do nothing to stop the noise from adjoining rooms . Neighbors yelled at the tv until 2 in the morning. Family owned, Friendly staff, and clean rooms for a great price. I booked a 2 bed room for my father who was vacationing the surrounding area. He was happy with the room and the price. I called to confirm his reservation and requested 1st floor and they were able to accommodate. If dad is happy, I'm happy. We had an absolutely wonderful stay. There rooms were super clean. Beds were very comfortable, sheets and everything else about the room clean. Did I mention how clean everything was? Super helpful staff that helped with printouts and packet free breakfast. The rooms had many outlets to charge whatever we needed. They were wonderfully pet friendly. They have a decent breakfast in the morning, cookies at the front desk in the afternoon and evening, and friendly staff to complement the clean room and okay wifi. It's a solid 2 hours from Grand Tetons via winding 2 lane roads, so not a good option for visiting there for the day, but good to stop after visiting the Tetons on your way to other places. read more

This place has 4 star reviews in almost every online booking I have checked.. we were exited to arrive around 10 pm to have a hot shower and relax for the night .. since we spend our day in Yellowstone and we wanted to start heading home (CA). The breakfast is not offered due to closed restaurants (Covid) yes this is June 2021 review! But the reason I give 2 stars is that there was no hot water to shower. We are i. Room 283! 10 pm and no hot water. That's rule n1 right ?? Hot water and a good mattress.. Husband had a cold shower and I had a semi luke warm after letting run 20 mins plus and almost ripping the shower faucet off! Now the batteries of the tv are not working.. Rooms look that have been upgraded but the whole building is old and shady corridors ..Sri my carpets and stinky walls. And this place is sold out! I'm not the type that normally does this but I had an experience that really upset me and felt that I needed to tell other people to stay away from this place. There is a place called Motel West in Idaho Falls. We drove down for a graduation and stayed at this place as other ones were booked. Expedia gave it 4.1 out of five and the price was decent. Long story short after a broken light that was exposed in a swimming pool, scum floating on top of the water in both the swimming pool and the hot tub and spiders and bedbugs with major rash and bites. We were there only one out of four nights and when I went and talk to the person at the front desk she called her manager and the manager would only give us two of the four nights refunded plus charged us A $25 cancellation fee. There are also stains on the sheets. Here is a video of the water. Stay away from this please and pass the word along. I was hoping they would want to make things right but was quite rude and ignorant and so therefore I am warning others read more

As far as MOTELS go, this one is 5 stars. What I think that some of the reviewers fail to keep in mind is that it is STILL a MOTEL. So of course it's probably not going to be the most updated, beautiful and comfortable place you've ever stayed. That's the POINT. My boyfriend and I stayed here on the drive from Yosemite to Yellowstone. Would TOTALLY recommend this as a place to stay if you too are heading west to east- it was probably about a two hour drive to the park in the morning. Super easy. Check in was smooth (grab a free cookie!) and we got a great price -$60. This was about $30 cheaper than everywhere else in the area. The room was nice and soundproof. It felt safe. Bed was surprisingly comfortable, and after making the room super cool it felt really nice to cuddle up in bed. Plenty of towels, shampoo, etc. My boyfriend and I checked out the hot tub which was kind of fun. How often do you get to say you went hot tubbing in Idaho? In the morning, there was a generous free breakfast. Nothing outstanding but very thoughtful. Try the cinnamon rolls. Overall super happy we found this place! Don't hesitate to stay here! read more

Our room was spacious ,double queen bed,clean,bright,no smell.Very cozy and light.The bed was comfortable . Fridge,coffee machine,iron,TV.Had some problems with TV but got assistance very fast. Breakfast was served from 7.30- Super! There is a laundry room on the site.It's so convenient for people who travels a long way.The owners are going to upgrade it ,it's a big plus.WIFI was good. Wow what an experience that will never happen again. Paid $95 a nite. Moved to three different rooms because their wifi was crap. Multiple others complained. When I went into the office the next day after all this the the manager told me there was a note stating how rude I was. This is after I hugged the night shift gal at 430 this morning thanking her. I'm a local, can't imagine how out of staters get treated. The manager had no apology, she told me she was going to allow me to stay another night but I was not really welcome. Demanded my money back gave her a few choice words. She said and I quote "go ahead and go online to rate us one star, that doesn't mean sh-t any more." Family owned does not mean good. read more

Convenient place off the highway. Booked on my way back West on a road trip. Last minute booking made online. Rooms are OK. A little dated and dusty. Could be cleaner. The tub doesn't drain easily so taking a shower involves standing almost knee deep in your own dirty water. Pretty unpleasant for the person showering afterwards as the slow drain leaves a nice ring of soap scum around the tub and on the shower curtain. The front desk is friendly and efficient but the lot is a little rough around the edges. There's an indoor pool but I didn't visit. Seemed small and crowded. Breakfast is included with the room. Biscuits, egg party, sausage patty, cereal, coffee and yoghurt. I'd probably stay somewhere else next time. Not worth the room rate. read more

They have nonsmoking rooms and cheaper smoking rooms here. This review is for the latter. You'll get a much cheaper rate for the smoking room but believe me, you get what you paid for. The smell of smoke is overwhelming and the carpet is iffy in its cleanliness. There's also the smell of mildew on the towels and sheets. My wife also felt itchy and had a mild rash after sleeping on the beds. The next day when we stayed in a different hotel with a nonsmoking room, her shirt still smelled of the smoke. I often don't mind staying in lower quality motels as long as they're cheap but this one is definitely not worth your money. read more

We stayed here over the 4th of July, which means lodging was few and far between, and expensive. We got two rooms here at Motel West, for $50/ea. It's a solid value for the price, but you definitely get what you pay for. I grew up a block away from here so I was not coming here blindly, but my family was a little apprehensive when we arrived. Railene at the front desk was very nice, but was more like a friend who's letting you crash at her house, it was very informal, kind of charming really. The carpet in the corridor was water stained and looked awful, but not a big deal. Our rooms were decent, albeit they could definitely use some updating, they only had smoking rooms left when we booked and when we checked in, we tried to switch to nonsmoking, but they were full. The rooms themselves are spacious, clean, and the beds are very comfy. The fridge and microwave are a great touch, even though the microwave in our teenagers' room didn't work. The only real negatives were having to sleep in the chain smoking section, but that's not their fault that they were sold out on a holiday weekend, and the so-called "Wi-Fi" was a complete joke. They have two networks for guests to use, but we barely got one bar, and even that kept dropping. Like I said before, it's a great value for $50. If you can come with an open mind and don't expect the Hilton, you'll enjoy it here! read more

Very pleased! Clean and no frills room. 3 Night stay for a family reunion. Beds are firm and comfortable- no bed bugs. Pool and hot tub were relaxing after a long flight. Continental breakfast was filling. The pancake machine is great. Motel West offers complimentary passes to local gym. Housekeeping was quick and thorough. The toiletries smell nice and I appreciated the disposable makeup remover cloths. We felt safe. All the staff we encountered spoke English and were pleasant. Good location to everything we needed. Great breakfast array! Lots to choose from and plenty available with a good amount places to sit. Our beds were comfy and the sheets were pretty soft as well. It was a very spacious room with a mini fridge tucked under the tv and a small table to eat at. Overall I'm very happy with our experience there. read more
