Awesome coffee - no need for sugar here. Deserts look very tempting... alas will have to be another day.

I love this place!…read more I just found it the other day and it is one of those rare finds I really was thrilled for a few minutes because gluten free stuff can sometimes be so horrible it makes you want to throw up before you even finish eating it but this, well, I had a chicken and vegetable pie and it was very nice. I ate lunch there. They gave me a bottle of chilled water and sent e to sit down and relax. It was great. I then had a piece of a cake that was much nicer than it looked. I chatted with the lady and forgot to ask her name, but I was impressed with her attitude and sensibility. t must be tough when you are starting out something as particular as a gluten free business because as things stand I know some people find the whole gluten free thing a big joke; they sort of don't believe in it. Then there's the types who get all het up because it's about the food not the decor. This actual shop used to be a greasy spoon diner, you know, fish and chips etc. So the nice Italian lady hasn't been here so long, but you can not smell any of the old smell that's for sure. They also offer cooking classes which is nice, and they have a very fine selection of a variety of pastas which is good - I think variety is important when it is all about something being limited. I do believe in it and I don't think it hurts to eat food that is low in certain elements when you feel bloated anyway. I just felt over heated the other day when I stopped and decided to try their stuff, but I have one good friend who is gluten intolerant so I thought I'd try to see if I liked it and then maybe she would come have a meal with me some time. So that worked out well. I'll be returning to try other things for sure.

As they advertise GF Café is a "gluten free café with traditional Italian cuisine". They specialise in all gluten free products including many options that you can take home and cook for yourself in your own time. They sell fresh and frozen bread, a big range of different kinds of pastas, pies and quiches and a range of sauces, all of which are free from gluten. If you decide to sit in there is a range of drinks, all of which can be made with lactose free milk. There is also a small, but yummy looking range of gluten free cakes and traditional Italian biscuits. As a lover of chai lattes, I ordered one and was impressed with not only the flavour they use but the coffee making skills. The business is family owned and run and all products are made on the premises which guarantees its absolute freshness.

We've been here a few times for lunch and dinner, and it never disappoints! Yesterday we came here for coffee and cake, which was amazing ;) The menu is chock full of gluten free and vegetarian options - and they are fantastic choices, not just 'token' menu items (the vegetarian lasagne is to die for!). Their kids meals are great too, since they are all served with mash potato instead of the usual fries, making them a much healthier choice. There is a vast array of interesting desserts on offer too - yesterday I had the chocolate and orange cake, which included an array of nuts and seeds, and my partner had the sticky date pudding (possibly the best I've ever tasted!). They sell amazing protein balls too, which look incredible - I'm looking forward to coming back and having one next time ;) Nice wholesome food, which makes you feel like you are making a healthier choice! The setting is like an old-fashioned summerhouse - very charming and relaxing. Service isn't super-quick - they need extra staff during busier periods. I would have given them 5 stars, but their opening hours are a bit limiting (we usually dine out on Sunday nights), and they aren't opening on Saturday nights "at the moment" either (not sure if this will change in the near future?). Gawler Street in Port Noarlunga has become a bit of a foodie haunt - so while you're here, make sure you pop in to The Fleurieu Pantry!

The Fleurieu Pantry is part of the Eat Local South Australia movement, supporting local produce. They also support all different types of dietary requirements, including gluten free, vegan, raw and paleo. Once you make your way through the entry door at the end of the alley, the cafe opens out and up. It almost feels like a garden party at your eclectic aunt's house. It feels fun and buzzes with chatter and energy. Table service is friendly and attentive but not at all intrusive. As well as a menu of regular favourites, there is always a substantial specials menu. Vegan and gluten free options are well marked. The smoothies and juices come served in mason jars with handles and wide straws. The serve is large enough to have you sipping before, during and after your meal. Local favourite Goodiesons Beers are also available, as well as organic wine from Battle of Bosworth. The wait for meals is under ten minutes, even when it is very busy. To pass the time there are cookbooks to browse or card games on the tables to keep you entertained. Mr Wino's green curry looked really impressive, with fat, fresh prawns (tails on) and a mixture of black & basmati rice. The sauce was flavoursome with Thai basil, a hint of chilli and lime juice and the veggies still had bite. The Veggie Slice special was a frittata of sweet potato & zuchinni plus black rice. It was a large serve and tasty napped with a generous portion of basil sauce. The side salad was napped with tasty balsamic dressing and a crunchy seed & pepita mix. The choc-orange cheesecake is raw and vegan and totally delightful. A date & nut base gives way to a so smooth chocolatey interior and a rich choc-orange ganache scattered with cocoa nibs. Each time I have dined at The Fleurieu Pantry I have been impressed by it's garden party atmosphere, table service, luxe handwash & cream in the bathroom, eat local / low waste philosophy, vegan options and secret hidey-hole access way. There's a lot to love here.

My sister has been diagnosed as a coeliac for about 4 years now and she can still struggle to find gluten free products she likes. I was so happy to take her here and re introduce her to jube lollies, pies and pasties, heaps of different bread varieties and even the hard to find gluten free asian condiment sauces. There was even a version of gluten free vegemite. We had a great chat with the owners who were supportive, knowledgable and would go out of their way to help you. We ended up leaving with three bags full of things, and will definitely be back, these places need supporting. (BTW gluten free cake is better then normal cake. yum.) *not monetary free.
