This is important for properly trimming trees so they stay healthy and ensuring there is no transfer of diseases from their prior job. We need some big branches cut back so roofers could access the roof. Time was of the essence. Jake responded quickly. All comm's were via email (not phone) which works for me. Jake walked the property with us and we developed a Phase 1 (need it now) and Phase 2 (in a few months) approach. Mother Lode came in as the low bid. Mother Lode Tree Service visited my home today to remove a threatening cedar tree that stood about 3 feet from my house. After providing a very competitive estimate, the crew arrived on my property and skillfully removed my massive tree, dropping sections with incredible precision and care not to damage my septic tank and rock wall (only a few feet of working space!) First, these guys were thousands less than their competitors and have GREAT communication. Jake has been highly communicative from quote, to plan, to in process, to invoice - the whole thing. email, text, and voice.. I have cameras setup on my property and Jake's team shows care for the structure and the team members know their role - most importantly SAFETY! I am really happy Jake called me before cutting the remaining of a 200yr old cedar to the stump to suggest a carving be made out of it.. cant wait to see what can be conjured up :). We had the top of our tree resting on our roof after the 3 days snow storm. We needed it off promptly before next storms came along to prevent damaging our roof. We had 3 estimates from other tree services and Jake was the lowest. We went from $1400 from one service, $800 from another and Jake gave us a $600 quote. As seniors on a fixed income this was something we could afford. Jake showed up as promised and he and his crew did a fantastic job. We paid Jake and went to lunch. When we returned they were gone and no sign of any debris or tree. We definitely will use them again (Hope we don't lose any more trees) but we have someone we can count on. I contacted 7 different tree services in the Sonora area to get a recommendation and estimate for work on a large tree at my home. Jake at Mother Lode Tree Service was the only one of them who returned my call and came out to my house that same day. In fact, two of the larger companies never even returned my calls (2 calls each). Jake communicated well prior to arriving, and he was friendly and honest when providing his recommendation. Estimates for the work varied significantly among the companies that did come out, and Jake's estimate was the lowest, with one of the estimates being double of what Jake quoted. When I decided to go with Jake, I wasn't sure what to expect, but he came out within 2 days (all of the other companies said "weeks"), had the work done in less than 3 hours, and left the yard spotless! When I got home that evening, I couldn't even tell they had been there except for the neatly stacked rounds I had asked him to cut and leave for me, and of course, the nicely trimmed tree. In June 2016, Mother Lode Tree Service removed more than a dozen trees from our mountain cabin site in Oddfellows Sierra Park near Long Barn. Many of the trees were interfering with the foundation and roof-line so were very close to the house and quite challenging. The crew climbed every tree, removed and lowered some sections, tied ropes around the trees, then removed some bark around the trunk before deciding where to drop the tree. They worked quickly and efficiently - we were surprised how quickly the job was done! We would highly recommend Mother Lode Tree Service and would use their service again.
