It's so cute in there and there are so many wonderful things to see and purchase. I could have spent hours there exploring everything. I love anything international especially an area of the world I haven't visited. I loved all the runners. They were all so cute and colorful with beautiful patterns. I wanted them all but sadly had a small suitcase. I also loved anything Christmas they had. I have a wooden village and found some cute things to put in it. I especially love this cute little wooden tree that fits in perfectly with what I have. My mom and I also got some delicious chocolates. She got two 70% cacao bars for her and my husband. I got delicious little chocolate praline Santas for us to all share. We were too late to get a Kringle since most were sold out and my husband's family is picky. They have 15 different flavors that I'd like to try sometime. They're so good. I've had them before. I also loved all the wooden dolls, straw horses and local food stuffs. Such a cute store! For me, I couldn't put the book down and the read provided me a valuable history lesson and changed my approach to buying and using the "Sacred Fruit". The author and owner of Venice Oil company is an internationally published food author. All olive oil is not created equally, fancy packaging, high priced grocery store oils may not pass a test as genuine, thus wasting your hard earned money and missing the benefits of pure oil. The Venice Oil company is located on the Island, staff members are informed, helpful as well as pleasant as you peruse a myriad of oils and store items. Next time it becomes time to purchase Olive Oil, go past go and go to the island. Along with your oil purchase buy the book it enriches your understanding of a food product that is really more than a food product. I ended up getting some Christmas gifts here. I stopped by the Sarasota Honey Company and the customer service was great and they let me try some of the honeys. I ended up buying a few jars because they were really good! They have a good selection of honeys, I just wish there was more plastic packaging instead of glass because glass can break more easily. The market also had live music and a food truck in the back and a raffle going on. There was a lot of cool things to see at this market and I'll definitely stop by again.

It was a hot afternoon and I was in the Southside Village because of its close proximity to Sarasota Memorial Hospital. I'm generally not a smoothie drinker but getting something cold sure was a good idea. I chose their Passion Berry, very passion-ish, with Passion Fruit syrup and various other fruits and apple juice. They do not include ice, so the texture was a little thick and very smooth. While I'm still not sold on smoothies in general for the price, this was a fine drink. Raining Berries offers more than smoothies, they have Acai bowls, coffee, gelato, and even some food. I like food, so I stopped in a second time to try their Cali Bagel. You have a choice of an Everything or Plain bagel, I went Everything. This bagel sandwich includes egg, cheese, arugula, tomato, and a little sriracha just to keep it from being too bland. I very much liked this savory sandwich. I didn't interact too much with the staff but everything went smooth and reasonably quick.
