Jonathan does good work, and responds quickly to calls and texts.He and the two workers he brought with him were all nice guys. My wife, kids, and dogs liked all of them. On the first day, Jonathan and one of his guys unloaded two 28' trailers. They worked hard, and I felt Jonathan had quoted too low a price for the amount of work they did. He felt that as a man of his word, he should not ask for more. My wife and I decided we needed to up his pay, anyway, so we did. The next day, Jonathan and crew were working elsewhere, when I ended up dropping a safe I had been trying to move on my own. Being new to the area, I wasn't sure who to call, so I called Jonathan. He and another of his guys came over after finishing up the project they were working in Asheville, and helped move the safe to the proper location. If I could give zero stars I would. The owner seemed really nice on the phone when I was giving him all of my info on my upcoming move. I told him we had a time limit because we closed on the sale of our house (we were moving out of) and had to be out of our house by that time. He said that would be no problem; I'd have 3 men and they'd be there at 8am sharp. The morning of closing arrives and they are nowhere to be found and not answering the phone. After many lies of their ETA, they finally showed up at 10:30. We HAD to be out by 11 for the new owners. Nonetheless, the "owner" guaranteed they'd be out. Only 2 guys showed up and they barely made a dent while time was running out and the truck they chose was filling up. After calling the owner trying to relay the severity of the situation and that his workers were just complaining the whole time, I told him this was the worst experience ever. To which he responded that his workers would just take what they had on the truck and forget about the rest that was left in the house. Then he hung up on me and refused to answer my calls back. He also said I didn't tell him we were moving washer, dryer and fridge. See pics below. We ended up not being able to take our fridge, which was only about a year old. Now let's talk about the unloading part. They literally threw everything into the garage. Things were tipped over, broken, nothing was put upstairs. I had to buy another truck and move the rest of my house with help from some friends. What did we hire movers for? We had to get to the next closing so we didn't have any time to challenge it, and I was very tired of dealing with their owner's attitude and disrespect, I was charged the full $270. Do not ever use this company. You will seriously regret it!! They really seemed to just be a groups of guys that rent hauls and call themselves movers. Beware. read more

Communication was flawless and rates were VERY affordable. Super easy to deal with. The team was on time, experienced and very impressive. Everything was loaded & unloaded with care. A 40-mile move took under 3 hours total for a full 2 bedroom house move. Total cost was over $200 less than competitors with similar business models but more reviews. Love the work ethic! We were third job of the day and another one to follow us. While they got there late, other jobs ran long, they consistently communicated they would show. After 3 hours they did. Both men worked hard, were apologetic and were friendly. They solved problems- it was tight getting furniture up our stairs. We took off hand rails and got it done. I would recommend. read more

We didn't actually get to use this company. We hired them about a week ahead of our move date and scheduled them for 8am. The day of the move we got a call just before 8 saying that the rental company they used to rent trucks would not be open until 8:30. This was the first mention to us that this company did not own their own trucks. We thought it was odd that they didn't know what time the truck rental place opened since they must do this a lot. We waited and I believe around 9:30 we were told that they were unable to secure a truck for the price that they expected and were going to try a different rental place. Again we thought it was odd that they had not reserved a truck in advance and confirmed the price ahead of time. We waited for about another hour and were then told that the truck rental was going to be more expensive and my husband was quoted a price. Since truck rental had not been mentioned at the time of hiring, my husband asked what price they had originally expected to get the truck for (so he could know how much extra he was paying). We were unable to get a clear answer. At this point, now almost 3 hours behind schedule, my husband and didn't feel comfortable moving forward with Motivated Movers. I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 because the owner refunded our $50 without us even asking for it. I feel like they are not a bad company and definitely not dishonest from what we saw, but they need some better management. I wish them all the best. read more

They showed up exactly when they said they would, quickly looked over the scope of the work, finished it in about 10 minutes and left our house cleaner than when they got here. The icing on the cake was the two gentlemen who helped us were genuinely nice people. Highly recommend. read more

Really disappointed I am having to leave such a poor review, but our movers were over an hour late and never contacted me to give me a heads up. I called repeatedly and kept getting different etas, and since I was on a time limit I had to begin the move myself. By the time the movers arrived I was halfway finished and received no apology/explanation from the movers. The owner was responsive and offered to refund half my money, but I never received a refund. Jonathan and his crew did a great job for me. Excellent communication from start to finish, careful handling of my furniture and boxes, and really pleasant to work with. We had an initial problem with things having shifted in my moving POD and couldn't get the door open, but Jonathan and his crew worked carefully to remedy the issue while protecting the contents.
