This place is hopping! I was later told by my partner that his is somewhat of the MVA headquarters. That explains it. I saw cars in line to take driver's tests and accidentally ran across the CDL driving test parking lot. Doh! I was here for my TSA interview. And I was totally confused. For one, you can't enter via the front door so, park in the back. Secondly, all the one-way streets had me going in circles. I understand the safety aspect of it, but I wish they would identify the direction on the backside of the parking lanes. It took me three times circling the parking lot to finally be able to park. There's a lot of handicap parking so, if you're coming from the back side, look for non-handicap parking on the lanes to your left. Once you enter the building, there's a lot to decipher so, come early. There are a lot of police so they might be able to point you in the right direction. If you're coming for your TSA Interview, you'll see the sign. The room is to the left when you enter. It looks like a small office, which it is. The representative was quick. I just wish those in customer service would remember the field they chose to work in. Communicate, engage, smile or something. I felt like I was intruding on her time and she was just going through the process. But hey, like I said, it was relatively painless. She took my fingerprints, took a picture, I paid and was out the door in approximately 20 minutes. read more

Came here on a Saturday afternoon to use the kiosk. It was time to renew the car registration. It's very convenient. Also it's open 24 hours. Just as long as you have the proper information for renewal. The kiosk only accepts credit card payments. Once you confirm all the information needed. It will immediately print out your registration with your stickers. Why wait on the mail service. When this is available. FYI there is three kiosk machines available. Their was a little line when I arrived but it moved pretty quickly. For registration renewal this is the way to go! read more

When I applied to renew my license I apparently checked the wrong box on the form I sent in, so instead of getting a renewal, even though that's what I enclosed a check for, I received an ID and an immediate CANCELLATION! of my license. It took 2 hours on the phone before I could speak to someone with any knowledge and they said it would take at least 2 weeks to resolve. I'd given upo hope of being able to legally drive for 2 weeks or more when I got a call from MauraM, a manager at the Glen Burnie DMV. She emailed me a temporary license, that was valid immediately and expedited my official license renewal so I got it in a week. Thank you Maura!!! read more

Help not hurt? I seem to have been targeted personally by members. I have documents and they try to deny my rights. I have court orders saying my suspension was bogus and unlawful mva still administering penalties as if I am guilty. They did not even wait for outcome. Now after I have all paper work they still are obtuse. Oversight is needed. I lost my family, career, home and mental health because of people lack of skill, compassion and intergrity to follow law . If its bad they have alot to say loud mean and obtuse anything good you can hear a pen drop. Sad to say I really think a civil suit is warranted. You can be the nicest person on earth and they will treat you like crap. Switching your tags from VA to MARYLAND should not be hard. It should not take 2 hours to answers calls. I think a lot of people in the reviews are entitled. Setting an appointment on the MVA website is easy and makes trips way faster. Before the online appointments it felt like MVA trips could take hours. Now, it takes me like 15 minutes. Also, the workers will respond in a professional manner. Most of the time the staff is smiling and laughing. But, you have to remember these are still people, if you're coming acting a fool, like they have to treat you like a queen or king you obviously need a reality check. I would give it five stars, but it can still be very crowded and the location isn't the best. But it's an MVA. Four stars is the best you'll get. read more

My husband and I went to this location this morning, with out appointments, to get our real ID compliant documents taken care of. Because we did not have appointments we were prepared for a very long day. However, we were very pleasantly surprised to be in and out within 30 minutes. In addition, it was very busy. So, it was as a result of a very efficient process and pleasant personnel that we had such a positive experience! If you need to take your documentation to this location to get real ID compliant, so long as you are prepared with the correct documents, you should have a very easy time of it. I feel bad that the motor vehicle administration get such a bad rap. As a result of the real ID process, they have added additional personnel and have worked very hard to streamline the process. There are more people that are pleasant and helpful than there are negative. I think we should focus on the positive ones! read more

I got my license renewed early this month for the first time in a while. Now you have to have 5 physical proofs to renew your license, what about the digital people who don't want to waste paper?? Decided at around 11:39 to come and get my license renewed. I come to this location because it seems to move rather quickly. I entered the Licencing Building, which is separate from the main building and proceeded to get in the information line, which is required to obtain a number that is needed to be called to receive service. I had "B105" and they were on "B85". Not bad, l thought, as l have had far more numbers ahead of me before. The reason l decided to go was that they have revamped their licencing services: If you are 40 or younger you have the option to renew online or at a kiosk, provided you have the proper documentation (e.g. vision screening information from your eye doctor). I was also informed that if you decide to come in person to renew, you don't get your license at that time, but it is mailed to you. Just be sure to hold onto your receipt in case your license runs out before you receive it in case you get pulled over or the like. Since l am an old lady, l have to come in person now, but have the option to renew online or at a kiosk, with proper documentation, for my next renewal. Why is it that you can never received ALL the information you need when there. Set appointment, go to appointment, take all information they said to bring. Get there, they ask for more information. He tells me what's needed and to come back at "set time". I do this, come back and someone new (literally) is there and doesn't really know what information is needed. Get a supervisor (or two) and one walks away saying, "doesn't concern me". Starts telling me all that is needed and I kindly ask for a written copy. A nightmare, I had to come to this MVA instead of my local mva in Harford county to deal with a fine. CLEAR YOUR WHOLE DAY, it's out of order & seems understaffed, why have over 30 booths to only have 2 clerks at the main check-in area to get your number. Numbers aren't called in order either. The system they have at the MVA in Harford county is much more organized and I hope I don't have to come to this place again. read more

Wow--nothing changes with the MVA! I've found most persons a various MVA locations to be disgruntled/unhappy and they let you know it. I'm ALWAYS polite and respectful but I'm not treated that way in return. The Gaithersburg, MD is the worst but is almost a dead tie with White Oak. At White Oak a supervisor "yelled" at everyone to stand up and form long lines to the agents desks plus the police locked the doors 15" early because, "It's busy and they might not be out by closing." If you call the MVA with a complex issue--they hang up. Absolutely no accountability. There are ONLY 2 groups are worse: Verizon and USPS in a tie for 1st place or last place? read more

The usual sloppiness of any Maryland motor vehicle office. I was able to get my license renewal/ real ID processed in an hour. Obtaining my title was a different story. First the woman at the desk wasn't sure if I could get my title without the second person listed present. I waited for over an hour. Eventually, my letter stopped being called so I inquired at the checkin desk. They're clueless as to how the numbering is processed. I then asked for a manager. The desk woman is clueless and ignored my request for a manager. Still waiting...1 hour 20 minutes later. read more

Worst thing is standing in line for nothing. - What documentation do you need to do what you want? - Do you need a full service place? - How long is the wait Glen Burnie is the largest and can feel overwhelming but it's not bad at all. - Check in at the info desk - They give you a ticket for the section you need to see - You fill out a form if necessary and go to the window when your ticket # is called - The lady may be abrupt with you but is very helpful (I think she's used to dumb questions) I probably was only there for about 30 mins or 40 at the most. Key is to expect horrible service and be pleasantly surprised :-) Or be prepared with everything you need...or both! read more

Came here to exchange my foreign license to a Maryland one. Arrived at 8:15AM on a Tuesday and there was already a line around the corner; doors opened on time at 8:30 and they did their best to get the line moving quickly. Got my number at 8:50, seen at 9:20, out by 9:50. Exited the building and saw people waiting for parking spots - get here early!! The staff were polite and brisk - they know what documents are needed and prepared everything in a nice stack for you to hand over to the clerk. The clerk I had was also polite, respectful and smiled. The inside of the building is kept neat and the restrooms are also clean. Announcements were broadcasted clearly and there are screens that mirror the announcements. Since it's a HQ, there are many buildings. Each building is labeled clearly and there is a sign that tells you which building does what when you enter the parking lots. read more

The clerk would not even glance at my documents to make sure I had everything that MVA would need for an appointment. This woman was rude & unkept. There were no other customers in the general enquiry line so just a little professionalism would have been helpful. Since two other clerks were standing there looking I asked if the gentleman could provide any information. The clerk said no "He just got the job 2 weeks ago'. Way to Go MVA. Who hires these folks ? I hadn't received a notification to renew, but the customer service rep, Sam, told me they have my real id documents, that the renewal notice wasn't sent due to COVID, and that the governor's executive order allows my license to still remain valid until I can schedule a n appt. Great experience getting a replacement title. I couldn't find the one I had showing a lien release. Checked in, got a number. Waited about 10 minutes for my number to be called. A very pleasant employee processed my request. There was some concern on their part because the bank didn't print the name of the person who signed the lien release . But after a quick discussion with a supervisor they got it done. With no charge to me. The whole thing took 35 minutes, on a Monday mid morning. Well done MVA! read more
