In the heart of the red light district and you cannot miss it with its big Red sign and big Red Windmill. We were so excited to see it. Moulin Rouge is an amazing show and that's why we have seen it in Las Vegas and New York City ! Fun invigorating and enjoyable.
Definitely a pricey experience, but hey, when in Paris. We got the tickets with dinner included, but there's also tickets for just the show. Definitely think there could be some improvements made to the experience considering the price, but happy to have checked an item off the bucket list! Doors open at a certain time, but there's a massive queue once you get inside the building - I think we waited at least 30 minutes to get seated. They check your bags when you enter the doors (before getting in line), and they told us we couldn't bring our chocolate souvenirs inside, so they held onto it for us. After waiting 30 minutes, there's another room you enter, with a bag / coat check (backpacks aren't allowed), so not exactly too sure why we couldn't have just checked in our chocolates there. The seating inside is SUPER crowded. I think I had to stand up at least 3 times to let the people behind me get up and get through to use the bathroom. There's also not that much room to tilt your chairs, so I was also getting slight neck fatigue from looking at the stage. Also as heads up, if you're a party of 3 or less, you'll likely be paired with other people at the table. There's a band on stage singing during dinner service, which was nice. They served a special 3-course Christmas menu, where you can choose from 2 options within each course. I got the scallop carpaccio, meagre fish, and hazelnut plume. The seafood in general was pretty tender and soft but was on the saltier end. There was definitely a higher focus on presentation rather than taste, but I enjoyed the various sauces and garnishes on the dishes. For some reason, everyone's desserts were delayed, and came 30 minutes after we had finished the main course, and only 10 or so minutes before the show was about to start. Seems to have been some logistical issues there. The show is very flashy, with an impressive rotation of dazzling costumes. The dancers are all high energy, although that can also mean that they're slightly out of sync in some certain numbers. The songs are lip synced - so don't expect Broadway live singing. Between the dances, there's special acts like circus rollerblading, contortionist, and acrobatic balancing, which was quite impressive. It was fun seeing the iconic can-can and love how all the dancers were performing with a smile. Heads up - most numbers are topless so make sure you're going with the right group of people haha! Do I think there would probably be lower ratings in general if this weren't THE iconic Moulin Rouge? Possibly. But I do think if it's within your budget and you're already in Paris, might as well experience this once.
This is probably one of my favorite things we did during our time in Paris! I'm a big lover of live theater, so this was right up my alley. I didn't really know what to expect coming in; I had seen the movie (which now I know is a very different thing) but I at least knew about the singing and dancing. It was a pleasant surprise to get to see the cool tricks and stunts added in, as well! All of the performers were phenomenal. The theater itself is beautiful on the inside and out. It is definitely something you need to have on your Paris bucket list!
Well this place was sooo cool, very retro, classy and fancy. You can get tickets the day of but recommended to get tickets in advance just to avoid the possibility of disappointment because you couldn't get in. It's highly suggested that you dress up for the event avoiding sneakers or shorts for guys but I didn't see this rule being enforced because I saw a lot of people in sneakers lol but anyway... This place has the option of dinner and a show or just the show. If you choose to just see the show, youll come at a later time and possibly won't get the best seats since they'll accommodate people that will get the earlier to have dinner as well. I went for obviously both because if I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna go all in! We had to wait outside inline but not for a long time, once inside, they had the option for coat check for a small fee, then they proceeded to scan out tickets and take us to our seats, they choose them for you according to the number of people in your party and I suppose, first come first serve type situation. We lucked out and got amazing seats, there were some empty seats at our table but we knew they would fill up after dinner... and they did lol. The ambiance was so retro, you felt like you went back in time, they had some performers, they were singing classic French songs and then they switch it up to english songs, some people even got up to dance, the lights were nice and soft, very romantic and no children around minus a few teens. They had a pretty simple menu, you choose an appetizer, a main course and a dessert. (Pro tip) look at the menu beforehand so you know what you want. That way you get an idea and order right away. Their food was pretty good, I enjoyed it a lot, very tasty. I do wish they had more non-alcoholic beverages besides water and coke lol. The actual show was fun, lots of glitter and glam AND topless women (if this isn't your cup of tea, prob best to not attend). The music was fun and lively, the dancers for the most part were pretty good but I must say, they weren't perfect :x , they were a bit off and not synchronized completely. If you're familiar w the rockets at the radio city music hall in NYC, you'd be disappointed, specially for the price of the ticket because yes, it was VERY expensive so I truly expected perfection. The service was really good, very attentive and such, our waiter spoke english so that was super helpful. Overall I enjoy myself a lot, I was slightly disappointed because of how high the price for the ticket was and how poor their non-alcoholic drink selection was, as well as the dancers being off a bit, but it's one of those things that you MUST do when in Paris to check it off your bucket list and prob never do it again lol... well at least once is enough for me lol..
This is the classic. If you're a fan of showgirls or musical numbers or Vegas-style revues, you should see this original. It has some variety acts and smaller numbers in between the big musical numbers. If you've seen this type of show before, you know what to expect for pacing. The show is high energy, the numbers are fun, the girls with the magic of costuming & stage makeup all look absolutely lovely. This is France and this is Moulin Rouge, so of course some of the numbers are largely topless. Some dancers remain topless for much of the show. If the human form embarrasses you (or you have a jealous GF/spouse) you might want to go elsewhere- I did see some patrons starting to get that narrow-eyed irritated look on their faces, tho maybe they had just run out of champagne. Know your partner and her comfort levels. Speaking of champagne, the overall process was surprisingly clunky for how long it's been in operation. There's a very slow-moving line to get into the venue (get there at the START of the time period suggested if you want to have time to settle down), with waiting for individual servers to seat each customer. You picked specific seats on the website, even premium priced? Nope, they've already packed people in and you get whatever's left. You pre-bought champagne or wine? Not so interesting to the server, who asked what I wanted and never delivered. It took several attempts to get my 1/2 bottle of bubbles, and in the end they tried to give me 2 of those bottles (I only bought one). The champagne was excellent- but this is the easy part, for a place that's been running for so long it should not be a struggle. My night was a sellout even for the late show, so there's not much option for requesting other seats. Note the iconic windmill was repaired this past summer, so it's working again (it broke back in 2024). I like this sort of show, so I give 4 stars, and it's a very classic Paris experience. But rating the service levels alone, I'd have gone 2 stars.
Best show I've seen. Worth coming here. Glad that we tried to experience on this visit as we missed it on previous Paris visit. The show itself is very entertaining. The package we had was the one with bottle of champagne and the management was generous enough giving us the best brand. The performers were all professionals. The choreography was nothing but the best of the best ! There was a long wait in admission but worth the wait. The theater defines classiness and history. I am willing to return. Highly recommend to see.
I am extremely conflicted here. First off I didn't know this place was real, thought it was just a movie & broadway show. Anyways, overall the show was pretty cool. I've never seen the movie or broadway shows so I didn't quite know what to expect. All I knew was that we were doing their dinner and a show package. For their food they had I believe 3 different menus of differing costs. They had 2 "regular" menus and a vegetarian menu from what I remembered. We booked months in advance but I believe ours was the cheaper of the "regular" menus. Before even picking I remember we were a bit conflicted with the choices because each menu had something that we were interested in. I didn't take a pic of the menu unfortunately. It was a bit dark and I was really just tying to enjoy the experience and vacation with my friends. What I can tell you over all is that while the food was interesting and had some elements that we liked, overall we left feeling a bit disappointed y the food at least. Dessert ended up being our favorite thing, well, that and the bottles of champagne that we had with our dining package. Back to the negatives, one thing that really stood out to me was the general toughness of their proteins. I won't go so far to say that the food here was bland but it was definitely lacking a bit for us. One caveat I had taken into consideration by the end of the trip though was that from what I had heard, in the US we are used to a lot of seasoning/salt/etc meanwhile their palates are adjusted to needing less of these things so to them what may be delicious is lacking for someone from the US. Anyways, on to the show. What has me conflicted here was the quality of the show. It's basically a fairly adult burlesque. This is the only one that I have been to so I don't have much to compare to however, I don't imaging most others having the same elements as those done here. They had an aquatic segment that I would have never expected. I don't want to give too much away because I'm not sure if they rotate parts of the show or if they keep it exactly the same. In short, there is dancing, music and other physical displays that were quite impressive to see. While the food for the price really has me wanting to give them a 3 (out of generosity), the show ALONE would keep the venue at at least a 4/5. As for the service, I'd give them a 3 at best as well. It felt like we were not checked on after the final courses were dropped off and almost not at all in between courses. As for the ambiance and decor. Well it was a bit dimly lit location inside, even before the show it wasn't the most well lit. Not really a complaint I just think that's the vibe they were going for. The decor also fit well for it being a French burlesque, I'm not quite sure how else to put that. Side note now that it comes to mind, they had some of the hardest bread that I've ever had from a restaurant. Highly don't recommend it unless you want to hurt your teeth.
The Moulin Rouge is a once in a lifetime experience and I'm so glad I had the opportunity to check it out. I came here with a group so our meals were preselected. I wasn't too fond of the food as it wasn't anything special for the price we paid. However, we were given 2 bottles of wine and some champagne. I loved the actual production despite not knowing French. Highly recommend everyone to check it out!
Tickets for a 11pm show on a Tuesday. Yes only when on vacation and in Europe- they are night owls!! .Buy your tickets online in advance because they do sell out. Anyways the pre show arrival included a lot of standing in line, going upstairs and downstairs. Very crowded, waiting in a warm environment and a somewhat slow process. . Anyhow when we were finally shown to our very, very tight 6 person table. The 3 of us were seated in small chairs across from a shared table wirh 3 others. We were personaly served a bottle and half of champagne for the 3 of us! Because of the tight seating arrangements just say there was no going to the bathroom once you were seated. The show started around 1140pm and lasted about 90 minutes. The performances were amazing, the costumes were colorful and beautiful. The show was fast moving and definitely entertaining with some really talented dancers Remember several of the performances the woman are toppless and wearing thongs so if you are a conservative type maybe not the show for you. But it's completely classy and after a while you don't even notice it because of the creative choreography. One thing to note is I followed the upscale requested dress code. I wore a black dress and heels while many others wore sundresses , jeans , many wearing sneakers or dreaded flip flops. While I probably wouldn't wear 5 inch heels again maybe a kitten heels or dressy flats like my girlfriend did. Mainly due to the amount of standing prior to the show . Afterwards it limited me to going straight back to my hotel instead of walking around the area after the show. However I would assume tourists coming to the fashion capitol of the world could arrive more stylishly dressed for one night. Come on folks step it up.!! I recommend this show when visiting Paris for a fun touristy entertaining evening.
We went to the 11pm show. It was fantastic. Lots of pretty girls tastefully topless with elaborate costumes, dancing and singing. There was also a beautiful breathtaking dance number by a young couple; four muscle men that did acrobats that jaw dropping with incredible strength and knife throwing couple. It was a lot of eye candy and entertainment. Well worth the money.
c'est incroyable! Wow! Honestly. I am still in all of everything put on by the Moulin Rouge, from the welcome to the service, dinner, the quality of champagne to the excellence of the dancers! It was as they say, C'est Magnifique! We had Logan as our server, he was amazing and attentive and even better being a ManU fan as we are too! We ordered from the Toulouse-Lautrec Menu, which changes every season. The starter of the Tataki Tuna was so fresh with the citrus flavors. I got for my starter the beef cheek and it was so tender and perfect - I didn't want the flavors to end! For my dessert, I had the entremet which was creamy and fruit forward. The entire meal was to die for! The show was insane. I do not know how the dancer change so quickly or how they kick so high! Merci!
This was a must do for my visit to Paris simply because of the long history of the cabaret. The decor was nice and made me feel like i stepped back in time. We had tickets for dinner and the show. Both did not disappoint. Dinner was a price fix. We had a choice of two different meals which were chosen when we purchased the ticket. A band entertained us during dinner. The main show was absolutely amazing. There were various skits, dances and performances that were surprising, funny and memorable. The costumes and stage props were brilliant and beautiful. Definitely worth checking out. Be sure to purchase in advance.
Best night in Paris!!! My mom and I did the dinner party, which started with a 3-course meal with live music. For dinner, we chose the vegetarian option which was actually also vegan and was absolutely delicious! After dinner, they opened up the dance floor to the audience for half an hour and sang English songs- it was a blast. After dancing, the show itself began, which was unreal- the costumes and acrobatics were like nothing I've ever seen. Go to this if you can- you won't regret it!

So I'm solo traveling through Europe and while in Paris I had to stop to see a Cabaret Performance at The Moulin Rouge! Omgg I am so glad I did!! Everything was amazing and went so smoothly. Even though I do not speak much French everyone from the doorman to the waiter helped me so much. On to the show WOWWWWWWW is all I can say. I literally was smiling the whole time due to how entertaining it was. I literally held off from going to the to the toilette because I did not want to kiss anything. This was the first time going to anything like this but I will say this will not be my last. It was soooo entertaining that I totally forgot they were speaking French. I give this show an overall 10/10 so next time your are in Paris you should def check them out!!! read more

Pro : History Con: Horribly outdated, hellish security check, super dangerous part of Paris. AVOID THIS PLACE. I loved the movie and the musical. For my 10 year high school reunion for our 2001 class, I picked Moulin Rouge as our theme. Have original movie poster framed and hung up in my office. My expectation was stupid high... which crushed my wife and I when we just left after in the show for 45 minutes. Got tickets with tour guide for the late show. Meet around the west side of the Eiffel tower and was charter bus to 9th Arrondissement. Street was filthy and crows of street merchants came to us to start pushing merch, after the tour guide moved us in front of the venue with our individual ticket, we were told that the first show ran late (it's always late) and we will get in line for security. Here is where things got silly. We were told to dress up for the show, after all, it's a classic, right? Mid Sept, it was 80 degrees and damp at 9:30 pm. The security line had us walk 2 stories up and down stairs with no AC, plus 3000 people indoor waiting around for 1 hour, it got really hot, there was end to end people in line. some in fur and full suit. Things got a bit ugly as people start to strip down a little bit to cool down, but the indoor temp got around 90 degrees. The doors finally opens at 11 pm for the second show. We were shoved into a multi-tiered seating area, our VIP table got some cheap wine or soda. The room got filled up pretty quickly. The show. Just outdated. If you have seen any Cirque show, this is too slow for you or any local junior college level variety show, this show have older outfits and set design. People come out, dances in some 70's old fashion routine at 70 years old speed, some skins were shown, but there was no heart from the performers. Choreography bored us to sleep so we just left. If you been to any drag show, this will be a disappoint. If you been to any high school level musical, this will be a disappoint. If you been to any middle school talent show, you have seen better lighting and production value. read more

The is the second time my wife and I have had the opportunity to experience this show. It's worth traveling to Paris just to enjoy the food and performances of all the artists involved in the Moulin Rouge. Food is truly gourmet French cuisine. The show reminds me of the fabulous Las Vegas style shows of years past. We absolutely loved all the costumes, dancing and music. The auditorium is breathtaking beautiful. The service is better than you find a five star restaurants. The pre-show music and band are very good. We had a great time! If you are going to Paris, you really need to go enjoy this show. read more
We skipped the Moulin Rouge the first time we went to Paris, so this time we figured why not. The show is expensive... so expensive! And so I went with the cheapest option, which was the 11:30 p.m. show on a Sunday night. Despite the fact that I picked what is probably the least popular time slot of the week, the show was still a good 80-90 percent sold out. The tickets are extremely specific about what time you need to be there and that there is a set time when the doors close (and you will no longer be permitted in). The other thing we realized is that it's such a high-volume event that a lot of that extra time goes to crowd management. I would recommend getting there early and knowing there is a lot of waiting in line. First you wait in line outside. Then they open the doors. You proceed to file into the theater, up a huge staircase, through the security checkpoint, through your ticket being scanned, around the upper floor, down the steps on the other side and then finally into the theater. Once you enter the theater, you are greeted and ushered to your seats where your waiter takes over. There is champagne for the asking and served by the bottle. It was dry and cheap and unremarkable. I stopped after two glasses because it was giving me a headache. You can also order other drinks to the table via your waiter. The show itself is really really quite a production. I've been to a lot of Broadway shows and a lot of professional concerts, and I can tell you, this show has high production value. The costumes are AMAZING. The sets are AMAZING. And the music is well... it's decent anyway. The women are topless sometimes and otherwise scantily clad. But even so, it is still a show and you can tell the performers are very proud of the show they put on. (Also they do it three times a night... respect.) There are also MEN in the show for the ladies... my how far we've come. At any rate, I am not sorry we went. I enjoyed myself a lot. It was an extremely entertaining show. And I now understand the cost of the show... there are a LOT of people on stage in the show not to mention the crew and venue staff. That's a lot of people to pay. But it takes all of them to pull off the 20+ costumes the girls wear in one show and it really is quite an impressive spectacular from a production standpoint. I'd recommend it if you can afford it and are up for a bit of a raunchy fun time. Leave your prudes at home and come with an open mind and a fun spirit and you'll be just fine. Christmas Night: DRESS CODE: It's true, the dress code is seemingly strict. You must dress upscale for this event. Prior to arrival I was nervous about the dress code. Yes, I was in a dress and fur coat but I'd left my heels in the states so I had to compromise with boots. Thankfully they looked past it and I was seated promptly. SEATING: I was close to the front which was a surprise since we showed up 5 minutes after the doors opened. Apparently, to get good seating you MUST arrive at least an hour early. The place was packed. Unless you're with a big party, you'll be seating with strangers at a table. We were served 3 bottles of champagne. The other party seated with us ordered water. (5 euros for a tall glass bottle of it) If you're lucky and the other people you're seated with don't want too much champagne, you get to take home a bottle. THE SHOW: I was expecting the can-can and pretty outfits. Beautifully dressed dancers, right? Boobs! Boobs everywhere!!! It was such a sight, the ladies were gorgeous, the performance was unlike anything I was expecting. Professional skaters, naked women swimming with snakes, guys with 8 packs standing on each others heads, it was insane! Was worth every penny! read more

Food was good but overpriced. Same with the show, really good but overpriced. Some of it is you're paying for the name and history. The service was top notch. The part of the show that everyone went wild for was the roller skater team, they were amazing. I do appreciate that it's obvious they do keep updating the show, the stage and costume changes were awesome, that's right the stage transforms, you'll have to go to see what I mean. We are glad we went but would never go again, not at the prices they charge. read more
Took me 16 years to come back here after having tickets and then having to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances. The seats were cramped but the venue was beautiful. We weren't allowed to video tape or take pics of the show (well duh the ladies were baring their breast for half of the show ... Give these ladies respect and don't post their breasts on social media). The iconic Moulin Rouge with its towering red windmill is not the original ( apparently it was destroyed in a fire long ago and was rebuilt) but it is a Paris staple. Surrounded by sex shoppes, it's an interesting neighborhood. I went into the show with both excitement and apprehension - - I've read enough reviews of people not liking the show, but I came out of the experience having enjoyed it immensely.... Then again, we CAME FOR THE SHOW, and DIDN'T BUY THE DINNER. we love good food and the bad reviews were mostly from people who were unhappy they paid so much for mediocre food so we knew to beware. Pro tip: get a good meal elsewhere and just enjoy the show. We went in right when they opened at 8 pm and were shown right in with no lines. We got to peruse the souvenir shop by ourselves and my husband bought me a pair of gorgeous red gemmed bracelet (moulin ROUGE... get it? Have to get the red. It's not even a question) that had Swarovski crystals in it. I was admiring another necklace but hesitated and now I'm sad I didn't get it.. So don't make my mistake and get what you want. We got seated with another couple as our table was for 4 but because we arrived early, we got the outer half and thus had better view of the stage. The COSTUMES are GORGEOUS. I couldn't help but gawk at the colors and designs of each costume. There were different designs even when they looked similar. They also transformed from one design to another. It was mesmerizing. Yes, we saw lots of breasts but they were tastefully covered with strands of jeweled beading and sheer covers. The GROUP DANCING was fun. Not completely in sync but if you get past that, they were enjoyable to watch. It made me wonder if the Las Vegas shows were based on the moulin Rouge shows. Not so much the clowns. I'm just not a fan. The guys were very soft in their dancing when I wanted to see precision but que Cera Cera. The famous CAN CAN was fun but there wasn't enough of it for me. I was waiting for more high kicks and especially group kicks. The squealing was interesting. Made me wonder how they made that sound it was so different. The SOUNDTRACK was amazing. They even worked in some songs from the movie and the main song (feerie?) was upbeat and catchy. The vocals were top notch but then again they are lip synching so of course they would be. Ignore that and try to enjoy the movements and choreography. You will see amazing ACROBATICS & performers. We were enthralled by the couple on skates. The strong man that put himself on a headstand on top of a glass vase that was stacked on more glass and vases was to be commended. The couple that did the artistic dance with acrobatics almost made me cry - - the performance was just was so beautiful. The lady who swam in a tank with live giant snakes was so brave. The stage changes and the transitions were flawless. Overall it was an enjoyable night. Don't eat here. You want your attention on that stage and not being upset at your food. To the performers, Bravo. Thank you for entertaining us for the night. read more

What a very fun show to go see. We went to the 11pm show as the earlier ones were already booked! We'd had a long day sightseeing so were tired but still really enjoyed it. They really cram everybody into quite small table seating areas. It is colorful and the performers are all excellent. We got a package that included wine or champagne so that was great! The area is not the best and we caught the metro there but got an overpriced taxi back to our hotel after as it was 1am. read more

First time visiting Paris and we made it to this wonderful place. Lucky enough to have floor seats with great food and amazing company. Definitely a must for all and I honestly can't wait to return. I came here not knowing what to expect but only knowing that this was one of those must sees while in Paris. For people calling it a "tourist trap" and complaining about the lines. You are to purchase a VIP ticket and it is 100% worth the money. With the VIP ticket you do not need to wait in line and instead are able to go right in and sit in a reserved seating area and sip champagne. Then you are seated inside in a special seating up top with a great view and more champagne. I saw some mentions of a dress code, I was 100% dressed casually as I had been sightseeing all day and did not have time to change. Nobody mentioned anything to me about how I was dressed. I cannot speak for everyone, however. The show itself is okay. The specialty acts were my favorite particularly. It is no cirque du soleil but it is entertaining and a good time. Drink your champagne, sit back, relax, and enjoy the fun! read more

Such a unique experience! This is a great and very entertaining show. Do NOT come here thinking it will be similar to the movie or the Broadway show because it is nothing like those. It is very French in the best way. This is not a huge area so honestly any seat is a phenomenal seat. We did not do the dinner but rather went to one of the nearby cafes down the street. They have a ton of cafes nearby! Now you don't get to choose your seat because they will assign your table upon arrival. If you are a smaller group they might seat others at your table. I was lucky and didn't have anyone else at my table, but saw plenty of others getting grouped together. It's a great way to meet tourists and locals if you are open to meeting new people. This show is a mix of incredible men and women dancing to a variety of music. It also has some stories in their small acts. The highlight for us was either the French can can or the snake dance! They have a scene where a woman jumps into a pool with snakes and dances. Mixed into this show are some unique acts as well. We saw an incredible roller skating duo, an incredible dancing duo, and a few others. These guys and girls are wearing microphones and singing live. We did not see a band so the music is probably pre-recorded. Overall the show is all over the place but truly a ton of fun! Prewarning: there is a lot of nudity. You will see the ladies naked from about one minute into the show until the very end. It is done in a tasteful way! Now the train stops right in front of the moulin rouge. It is very convenient because that train arrives every 2-3 minutes. However trains stop running at 1am. Meaning if you do the 11pm show, you might miss the final train. I recommend going to the 9pm show. Overall I enjoyed this show! I would recommend this to anyone who hasn't seen it and want a unique Parisian experience. read more

They say when you get older you remember the past better than what you did recently. I disagree for myself personally. I remember peak experiences. Some times memories of people and times come to me. I try not to dwell on the past. I'm building up to why I'm telling you about Moulin Rouge. My last visit to Paris was with my daughter. She had places she wanted to visit. Moulin Rouge was her suggestion. I hadn't been before. I definitely had a memorable experience. Moulin Rouge is best known as the birthplace of the modern form of the can-can dance. Originally introduced as a seductive dance by the courtesans who operated from the site, the can-can dance revue evolved into a form of entertainment of its own and led to the introduction of cabarets across Europe. Today, the Moulin Rouge is a tourist attraction offering musical dance entertainment for visitors from around the world. "The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return." - Moulin Rouge Paris, France: Le Moulin Rouge. As a historian I'm fully aware that it's origin dates to 1889. Yet, I admit I didn't know much about the Can-Can 'til Nicole Kidman brought it to my attention on the silver screen. Oh Moulin Rouge... Once I booked my flight to Paris... Moulin Rouge was added to my bucket list. On my Paris list it didn't exactly crack my top dozen, yet how could I not take a photo op with that stunning red backdrop and iconic windmill? Oui, I didn't know how to Can-Can, but I know how to Vogue;) On my Museum-off day in Paris I decided to take the metro up to Montmartre for my photo op with Le Moulin! The cobbled backstreets of Paris are centuries old so maneuvering around Montmartre, going around in circles, and up and down hills, was great for the hamstrings, but a challenge if pressed for time. Slow down... I'm in Paris! If you continue to use google map sooner or later you'll hit Boulevard de Clichy and before you know it reach Moulin Rouge. Don't even worry about right or left just follow the crowd and you'll see the red from blocks away. There she is... Le Moulin Rouge! She's more beautiful in person than any photograph can capture. The history and urban legend here are endless. Believe what you want to believe is what matters most. Truly a whimsical site! In the end, Le Moulin Rouge you see today is actually a rebuilt version after the original died in a 1915 fire. The spirit lives on no matter the decade or century. I was really exited to see Moulin Rouge in Paris. It's been a dream since my last trip a few years back when I didn't get a chance to see it. I took my parents with me. My mom and I are huge NYC broadway fans but I will say, this show is pricey for what you get. The tables are small and super cramped. You can barley breathe sitting down and forget about going to the bathroom. You'd be knocking things over left and right and stepping on toes. It seemed pretty dangerous if there would ever be an emergency - it would be very difficult to get out. Which was a bit of a concern to me. The champagne that was presented with the ticket was horrible. They probably couldn't present a worse option if they tried. I drank it anyways to have a full experience. Given that this a once in a life time kind of thing I gave them four stars even though it was super tight and the champagne was distasteful. I thought the performances were amazing. The talent that goes behind this show is incredible and I didn't want to take away from that. These individuals work hard and it shows. Would I recommend this place? Yes, only because who wouldn't want to see this show in Paris!? But I would keep in mind how tight it is. read more

If you have not experienced the original Fierre show at the Moulin Rouge in Paris France you are missing out! Put it on your bucket list please. I went for my fourth time and it was better than ever. They keep updating and beautifying the venue and the performance every year! No wonder every theater across the world is trying to reenact it on stage. The one thing they will never be able to capture is the phenomenal atmosphere and energy and beauty of the whole production which is like nothing in the world. I have to also mention the fabulous dining VIP option with champagne and cocktails included, with the most impeccable service you've ever had. read more

Moulin Rouge is a famous cabaret in Paris in Pigalle in the 18 arrondissement. The closest métro is Blanche. It means Red windmill, , there is a red windmill on the roof. This is the where the can-can dance started! It's one of the original cabarets in Europe. The Moulin Rouge opened during the Belle Époque. There are paintings above the ticket box that show that time with Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec painting the dancers. It has an amazing history. read more

That famous red windmill... Some activities in Paris are just so quintessentially Parisian that you can't imagine doing them anywhere else. And one of those essential activities is to attend a cabaret show, and arguably the most famous cabaret show in Paris, if not the world, is the show at the Moulin Rouge. This was where the Can Can dance was born during that magnificent period in French history. Its style and its name have been imitated and borrowed from other nightclubs around the world, Las Vegas, for example. The Moulin Rouge has two showings every night, at 9 PM and 11 PM. Shows run every day of the week. If you want to have dinner with your show, this is served at 7 PM, and you will watch the actual show at 9 PM after your meal is complete and has been cleared away. Price ranges from $85-400 (VIP). There is a dress code for the Moulin Rouge. You can find more info on their website. This is located at the foothill of Montmartre and it's just outside the metro station so reaching here is not a problem at all. Though we did not have time to attend its famous Cabaret show. Would not recommend. Nothing the shows in the US or the movie. All lip syncing, no story line, no real "point" to the show. It was essentially a classy titty bar. However, the three athletic performances (roller skating, single guy, and a double guy act) were incredible and impressive!!! read more
Continuing our way through Montmartre, we arrived at this iconic location after walking a few blocks from Sacré Coeur where the Moulin Rouge is located, but did not actually go inside. My partner, his family and I went there during day time and it seemed to be closed and rather quiet. The building itself looks interesting. It is a historic site having been founded in the late 19th century and having had a profound influence on the entertainment industry over time. Worth a visit during appropriate times! read more

We purchased tickets online to see the very famous Moulin Rouge while in Paris. This year, the Moulin Rouge celebrated 130 years in the biz. It is known as the birthplace of the modern form of the can-can dance and they still rock it. We booked the VIP tickets for our group, which includes a couple bottles of champagne for the adults and coca cola in bottles for the kids. We brought a couple of young teens to see this show, after reading that it wouldn't be unsuitable even with some nudity (mostly through sheer costumes). They were really enjoyed the show and didn't really see anything too risque. We waited in long lines before getting seated at a really nice table in the middle of the theater. The show was entertaining, somewhat similar to a cross between a musical and a circus du soliel show with some nudity, not a lot and done very tasteful. There was dancing, acrobatics, circus animals and water tanks. Many artists with various talents to enjoy, much more than expected. Overall our group enjoyed the performance and service at the show. It was a once in a lifetime experience and would recommend it. read more

Superb! The "Féerie" (extravaganza) Show is captivating, thrilling, and a must for those who love French culture. This time, I brought my parents and we enjoyed the dinner before the show. We were seated in the front row. You descend into a beautiful ballroom and the setting is romantic and intimate. For the food, all our choices were delightful and yummy. There are at least two options for dining and each person receives at least half a bottle of champagne- cheers! The show was just as spectacular as I remember and they've added more special acts like gymnasts, roller skate dancers, and other acrobatic stunts. All in all, a night out at the Moulin Rouge is a fantastic way to make memories and enjoy an institution of French culture. read more

Sooooo where do I start. Well I would recommend reading about this place first before going based on must do activities written in articles. I was definitely not aware this place was topless. Let's talk about the shock on my face along with my realization that adolescent boys were seeing the same thing that I was. I think the show was great without having the girls dance topless. That is why I scored it as well as I did. However the seating is extremely tight. Like there is no room to exhale. Thankfully everyone showered because the show would be unbearable if they hadn't. The event is a bit pricey and sells out in advance so definitely get your tickets weeks before planning to go. If you do not pay for the dinner session prior to the show please please eat before you go. The food availability is limited after the show. And you definitely do not want to walk around looking for meals in that district. It's situated near strip clubs. However if you find yourself grabbing a bite I would recommend the diner a few steps up the street called Le Chat Noir. See review read more

It's like a Vegas show, though I've never been to one. The showgirls tell a story in their feathered outfits, and dance to different songs. There are male dancers, who are also entertaining but they are more of the background. It's definitely a touristy thing to do and I wouldn't do it twice. From what I read, they run a show, such as "Feerie" for a certain amount of time until they are ready to present another show. Pluses: - If you like costumes, these costumes are intricate and made by a particular shop in the Montmartre area from what I've heard. - The singing was very good. - You can have a really decent meal prior to the engagement. - It's very professional, not a seedy strip joint type of thing. Negatives: - Tables can be shared with other guests. Tickets are assigned. Our table has my party of three, plus another couple that had reserved. - It's pricey. A bottle of champagne costs $90 of it didn't come with your meal, and the tickets themselves are rather expensive. - The line outside can be long. - The acts on the intermission were a bit cheesy and could add a bit of challenge. For example, they had a juggler. Though he was decent at it, they could make an effort to make it a more challenging act- ie, fire, swords, balancing... read more
