I would give a zero but unable to. Do not send your elderly loved ones or anyone with health conditions to this hospital. They will end up worse or dead. The doctors are evasive and vague. They provide very little information. Contact with the patient is limited if at all. Try to have them released and get put off until they know there is no chance of survival and then if you beg enough you're allowed to take them home to die. Do not use this hospital. read more

I have been coming to St Ann for years..but tonight i am disgusted..my private information isnt being kept private..there is no privacy when it come to exam..im having my testical examined..and a someone changing trash walks in no knock, nothing..they take me back to take blood work ..and there is bloob everywhere on the floor and the nurse laughs it off as a joke..saying "i promise i didnt do it"...the waiting room is full off trash and and used bandages..there is old vomit on the floor no one is cleaning anything. I will be contacting my lawer about the privacy violations and i have pictures and videos of everything..and whats blowing my mind is its not busy and still all the crap is going on.. read more

Took husband with sudden high blood pressure (180) headache and chest pain. Told them (numerous times) he was immune compromised. He was recovering from coma, multiple surgeries, and leg amputation. Also both parents had died of stroke. Left him for over almost 2 hours in over packed waiting room. Staff CONTINUALLY put people within 2 feet of his wheelchair despite social distancing restrictions. Their own policy states 1 visitor but allowed multiple others to stay in waiting room. It was a pleasant night, they could have been asked to wait outside if not a serious issue, but staff never even asked. Never addressed several individuals w masks pulled down below their chins (even when informers). There is a large increase in delta variant, but seemed like they didn't care. Wouldn't even enforce OWN policies. Tried to CONTINUALLY move him further away, but still moved people right next him. Finally took him elsewhere. As a medic, I know how hard an ER can be, but this can be life threatening, NO 3EXCUSE. read more

A mixed experience. My spouse was referred here by an urgent care center. In the emergency room they gave her a tiny bottle of water and then did not check on her further to see if she needed more water. She became delirious from thirst and when she tried to get up from the emergency bed she slipped to the floor. They didn't have any pillows for the bed when they got her a bed in the emergency room, and it just seems like a place that lacked some basic care. She did think some of the nurses were Nice and that the doctor was good. From my perspective, the instructions sent home with her discharge materials were not clear. read more

Went to Mt. Carmel West while I was working with a ministry in Hilltop. Had severe back and leg pain. They sent me to St. Ann's for surgery. They kept me on and off a NPO diet for 4 days waiting. Then told me the Doctor didn't know I was there. To top it off another doctor did the operation, that I had never talked to, and I ended up with a MRSA infection. Stay away. read more

St. Ann's is the best hospital in the Mt. Carmel system. I received great care during my stays over the past three years. They've made tremendous progress in such a short time with construction, staff and resources. No one wants to be in a hospital, so it always seems negative - but try out some inpatient stays at other Columbus hospitals and you'll notice a difference. I received great care (quickly) in the ER. And other visits I experienced good service in pre-op, post-op and follow up care. The scheduling and billing departments are helpful as well, they always answered questions in a timely manner. I was once billed incorrectly due to my insurance carrier and they had it fixed the same day. As for the ethnicity of doctors - it's like this everywhere. Imagine moving to another country with a completely different culture where you have to practice medicine. Could you do that? As a patient, it is your responsibility to ask questions if you cannot understand your doctor. Ask the nurse, ask the PA, ask your PCP who likely referred you to the hospital initially - do something because it's your health. You cannot be passive in your own health care experience. read more

Staff at check-in were very nice. That is important as they are the first impression when facing a procedure. Nurses getting me ready were personable & easy to talk to. I was comfortable so I didn't have much time to worry. Dr Ward was great as was the anathesioligist. read more

I went in for a repeat C section on 10/23/14 and was scared to death. Every single nurse, doctor, tech, specialist, etc that we came in contact with was so awesome. Everyone was friendly and caring and really did a good job at taking my mind off of all the surgical stuff so I could focus on the birth of our baby girl. Once we were up in our own room, the excellent care continued. The nurses are friendly, you can tell they care about their patients. If in the future we end up pregnant again, I will be going to St Ann's. read more

It's hit or miss if you'll get an ER doctor here who will listen and try to help. They're contracted through Immediate Health, & my last visit was awful. I had to go to another hospital for treatment. OSU was a much better choice. Before doing this review, I tried to contact the hospital to provide my feedback. They did have someone contact me, but the end result was that the person who called me defended the ER doctor, & I received the same message in a letter. I wonder what the point of giving feedback is for them beyond possibly a Joint Commission requirement or public relations formality. read more

I am new to Columbus and had taken a fall ended up at St. Ann's emergency room I was told I had just a sprain ankle. 8 weeks later still in extreme pain and still a huge swollen ankle I went to another Dr. got an x-ray only to find out that I had torn ligaments in my ankle. The medical expenses I had to spend was enormous. The REAL PROBLEM that I had with St. Ann's besides THE LACK OF A PROPER DIAGNOSIS was I received a bill of almost 1000.00 dollars after insurance and being the proactive person I am I called immediately to make a payment arrangement because not only did I have their bill but the additional bills I acquired finding out what was really wrong with my ankle. I spoke to a girl that sounded like a 17yr old on a power trip. I asked no less then 5 times to let me speak to a manager to try to get a payment arrangement she refused the call ended. I went ahead and sent $300 which I felt was a honorable amount to pay in one month within 2 weeks I began being harassed about my lack of payment in full. I received multiple calls on my cell. In less than a month I received the second statement I wrote the check for the remaining balance of $661 and mailed it out immediately. Then 2 days after I received the statement I received another collection call then again 1 day later. I received 3 collection calls in less than a week on a large bill I paid in full within 30 days. I am sorry but 961.00 in one month is a HUGE amount of money and being harassed the whole time was AWFUL! I felt I was making a more than reasonable attempt to pay the bill off in a timely manner just under 30 days. We went with out groceries but the bill got paid. I JUST WISH ST. ANNE'S/MT. CARMEL CARED ABOUT THE PATIENTS AND PUT AS MUCH EFFORT INTO ACCURATE DIAGNOSIS AND CARE OF THEIR PATIENTS AS THEY DO ABOUT GETTING THE MONEY AND HARRASING PATIENTS ABOUT THE BILL! read more

Worst overnight hospital experience ever. Facility poor, hospitalist rude. Not attentive to patient needs.

This is one of the worst hospitals we've ever used. We will never go back. My wife has been neglected for hours at a time. Using call button does nothing. A few of her nurses have been nice but still don't help her when she needs it. It reminds me of those nursing home horror stories. read more

My nurse Kim seem to be in a real bad mode for two days. The first day she drop my medication on the floor and never replaced it, ok but the she never hook up I V with my kidney solution.SO today she in with this super nasty attitude and she is saying all kinds of stuff a nurse shouldn't say, She gave me the same medication yesterday And she gave me 5 drops in one I'm like ok, but today she two in each and when I Mention what she gave me yesterday she when off the rails. I would like to tell you about our experience this week at St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville. My Father went in for out-patient surgery at 1:00 on Tuesday afternoon. The surgery went pretty much as expected, but the after-care was beyond horrible. It was a living trauma inflicted upon the patient and us, as the waiting family. The post-op Nightmare: We waited 6 hours after the surgery before they could physically locate my Dad and we could lay our eyes on him. While sitting in the out-paint waiting room, a person came out, locked the door and turned out the lights without saying a word to us. We were the only ones sitting there. Not one single member of the entire hospital staff came to talk to us with an update at any time. (except the actual surgeon, immediately following the procedure.) We checked every floor and asked as many staff members as we could find for some assistance and we were repeatedly told to just sit down and wait while my Father was "located". Can you imagine how horrifying it felt for us to know that our loved one was lying somewhere in that building and no one could look in on him to make sure he was all right?!?! 6 agonizing hours!! At one point I found a "courtesy phone" and was told that my father was in Room Number 402.........the hospital only has 3 floors!!! There is no Room 402 unless you're recovering on the roof. It was the most outrageous, frustrating, infuriating day of our lives. He was finally given a room at 10:00 at night! He had had no food since dinner the night before and they refused to bring him anything to eat. We had to go to McDonalds and bring him food back to the hospital once he got settled. Dad's catheter had gotten plugged overnight with 2 saline bags running into him, his bladder was bursting and nobody would listen to him or change it out. At about 1:30 Wednesday afternoon Dad got up and pulled out his own IV and called us to come pick him up. The appearance of the entire family finally got somebody's attention and we had him discharged. Here's a lesson. Don't ever leave your loved one alone in a Hospital. Stand outside the surgery room door but keep your eyes on them at all times. read more

WORST HOSPITAL NURSES I HAVE EVER HAD!! UNLESS YOU ARE GOING TO DIE (EVEN THEN I DONT KNOW) DONT GO HERE! So I was shocked  by how HORRIBLE the day time nurses were. 1st while trying to get much needed sleep/rest because i had been up all night in pain nurses/assistants (very early in the morning) were yelling and laughing really loud kept hearing "wooohooo" making it impossible for me to get any type or sleep or rest. I mean its a hospital not a sports bar. 2nd at one point my IV bag was very low and the alarm on it started going off so i pushed my nurse call button and the assistant came in turned off the alarm and said "ill go get your nurse" I waited and the alarm went off again and then another assistant came in put it on silent then said once again "ill go get your nurse" this ending up happening a couple more times and still no nurse by then it was empty and I had no water because no one got me any and i started getting dehydrated and blood starting comes up the tube then FINALLY the nurse that NEVER checks on me came in and changed the bag. 3rd The night nurse told the day time nurse (i heard them talking in front of my door and it was open) to make sure she only gives me morphine slowly and not all at once because im very sensitive to it and ill get sick. Now im not sure if the day nurse ignored her or didn't care because when she did finally give me any kind of pain stuff it was morphine and she gave it to me fast and all at once. I ended up throwing up. 4th the nurses assistant came in and asked if I wanted a shower or a sponge bath and i said sponge bath and she took the SAME bucket (that had just been rinsed out with the spray head on the toilet and put in the sink NOT sanitized or washed) and filled it with water put it on my table then put me in a small chair and just put washing supplies in front of me and then left the room. I was in so much pain and was in tears that I just tried BY MYSELF to put a new gown on and figure out how to button it up and everything. I pushed the nurses button and my nurse (who i never see) came in and I told her that im in pain and i cant do this myself she just rolled her eyes and poured out the water and left. I made my way BY MYSELF back to my bed strapping the leg things on myself. I ended up having to call my mother and ask her to please come early because no one would help me and the nurses or horrible. Crying the whole time. 5th Every time I would push my button to ask for help to the restroom they would just watch me lean over trying to get the things strapped on my legs off, move my bed down, and try to sit up and walk over to the restroom (which was hard without help). I stopped even pushing my button after awhile because NO ONE WOULD EVER HELP ME. The night nurses has written down to also walk me around the halls some and they never did that once! they didn't even know when someone had already taken my vitals, three different times I had two people within less than 5 minutes come in and take my vitals. My mom said something the last time it happened and the guy just said "ooops" No one seemed to know what was going on. Finally I just want to say that I would never go to this hospital again. I had a surgery that was not only physically painful but emotionally and these nurses just made things harder. they were rude, disrespectful, unsanitary and shouldn't be taking care of anyone. The main two Liz and I think the main nurses name was Ally (shorter blondish hair with glasses) were the two who were suppose to be taking care/helping me the most. p.s. i feel i should mention that yes the night time nurses were very good and it was just the day time nurses (which were the ones i had to deal with the longest) that were horrible. read more

Personal Info: I've had 14 arthritis related surgeries, including 2 hip and 1 shoulder replacement. Mount Carmel St. Ann's, and Dr. Adolph Lombardi both both be shut down. I had my first hip replacement at age 44, in Dayton Ohio. The stem became loose in my femur after 1 year. That doctor referred me to Dr. Adolph Lombardi at MCSA. I went to him for my next replacement on the same hip. My surgery and care was so bad, that I called for my ride 30 hours after surgery. Because, after surgery, I received 2 regular Tylenol for pain. Trust me when I say I complained! The RN ignored me. Then I demanded every hour to talk to Lombardi. He finally came in 16 hours after my surgery. Unfortunately the doc brought 10 interns while wearing a $2000 suit. I immediately told him to dismiss his crew. So I could explain the night from hell I experienced. After 30 minutes of me explaining my pain issues, Lombardi said he'd order the proper pain medication, and I'd be good in 15 minutes. At minute 16, I called my worthless RN, and she said, she hadn't received any new orders. By then Lombardi was gone, and I was screwed! I filled out the MCSA survey, with the above info.included. I received a call from them, and they asked would I be be wiling to tell my story over speaker phone to many people, I said YES. That phone call never came. Please avoid Dr. Adolph Lombardi and Mount Caramel St. Ann's Hospital, AT ALL COSTS! read more

The nursing staff is wonderful, but don't have a baby here unless you know it's going to be fairly routine. They push for a natural deliver to the point of danger. I was allowed to labor 33 hours after my water broke, made to push for 3 hours (all the while I was tachycardic) then told that I had to choose between forceps or vacuum after I requested a c-section at that point. They attempted the vacuum several times, once while a very large doctor placed all his weight on my stomach. Then I was told I needed an emergency c-section. When it was all over I was informed that I have an abnormally small pelvis and cannot deliver naturally. My son was in NICU for several days due to the traumatic delivery. The NICU staff is wonderful as well. I simply would not have a child there unless you have already had one with no problems. read more

My fiance had food poisoning but we were worried it was something worse so I took him to the ER. The medic that was taking care of him was attentive, taught us valuable information and the doctor was very considerate. He also went the extra mile to write two days worth of doctor notes afterwards as he knew laborious work would be hard on him after being placed on nausea medicine and the IV. Another note: one of the patients was kind enough to go get him some paper towels from the restroom as he saw he was sweating and throwing up. read more

I was in St. Ann's yesterday for a non-sedated colonoscopy. From the moment I arrived in the procedure room, I felt at ease. Rebecca, my nurse, was friendly, happy, smiling, upbeat, personable, and helpful. She was very quick to respond to my call button (11 seconds, by my helpful husband's watch!), and I never felt like I was an imposition. On to the procedure: My doctor (Melinda Jack) was caring, compassionate, patient, and gentle. A non-sedated colonoscopy isn't very pleasant, but she paused when needed, and Rebecca helped me with breathing and let me squeeze her hand as hard as I could! I don't think I could have found a better team with whom to work, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend St. Ann's, at least for the type of visit I had. Ask for Nurse Rebecca; you won't be sorry! read more

The L&D nurses were great! We were lucky enough to be welcomed by nurse Chelsea (who clearly knew what she was doing) when we entered and every nurse thereafter was very attentive and helpful. Even after moving to the mother/infant floor we were very well cared for. I don't have personal experience with the rest of the hospital but after previously delivering at a different hospital I would recommend the maternity ward at St. Anne's to anyone. read more

As if the care wasn't bad enough while we were there they also screwed us over in regards to paying the medical bill. When we were at the ER the nurses failed to come in when called three times on the intercom to pick up the specimen they said they needed. They also did not come in to check on him one single time in the 4 hours we were waiting for the results from a test. Then we find out that in house they will only give us 90 days to pay the medical bill. If we can't do that we can do a third party loan and pay several hundred a month for the one year plan or do a three year plan that also has interest. I knew it was a mistake to go there instead of OhioHealth or OSU. We will NOT be returning. read more

My father has seizures due to car accidents. Well he came down with pneumonia and his sides hurt and ended up in the hospital. 6 hours in the er and was finally looked at, the said its diabetes (dad has the gene that stops that) they took him and finally got him a bed. They took tests which took two days to get back In the meantime was saying it was diabetes and that my dad was lying about the gene. Well the blood work proved he wasn't. My mom who is a nurse said it was pneumonia. They brushed her off. Now my mother works and so do I. When we were at work we told them to never have him standing during his absence seizure. Well his dumb nurse didn't believe he had them and they had never seen then at St. Anns. well his stats started to act weird ( he was having an absence seizure) she grabbed and pulled him up not believing and saying he was faking it. She got him up and he fell down and ended up hurting his legs. They called my mom telling what happened but not what happened prior. She called me I left work and so did she. They tried to brush off that it was no big deal. I have never seen people who didn't take owner ship for their actions. go to ohio health or riverside instead. read more

Anyway, the Labor and Delivery staff here keeps savin' old Matt's bacon when it comes to helping R bring children into this world; they are excellent. Check this out though, there's a new wrinkle: they have a doula service that costs you like $300 and is WORTH EVERY GODDAMNED PENNY. Guys, if your lady is going to have a kid here then spring for the doula (get Danielle if you can, she freakin' rocked) and she'll do all that stuff that you should be doing so you can kick back and watch the child emerge; it's freakin' amazing. Hand massages, back rubs, all manner of stuff to help a lady have a kid while I ducked out periodically to care for the children that we already have. I'm a little sad that we're NOT HAVING ANY MORE CHILDREN because this place is awesome. Thanks Caitlin the RN and Danielle the doula; you two in particular are great people. read more

Quite a shambles. They did the wrong test and later phoned me to apologize and re-schedule. On the second occasion they offered me a gas card for my considerable inconvenience. I refused, finding this quite offensive. My time is worth more than a gas card. While the rescheduled procedure was being carried out a member of staff came into the room twice and asked the technician to hurry up claiming he was wanted elsewhere. I later phoned to see if they had sent the test results to my physician. They said they had faxed it, my physician said they had not. I phoned again the following day, they said they had faxed it, my physician said they had not. A person phoned me and said there had been 'a bit of a mix up' and she would send it herself which my physician later confirmed she indeed had done. I have little confidence and await some creative billing. read more

My fiancé came into the hospital today at 8 pm for a headache that he's had for three days. Blood pressure was fine numbers for diabetes we're fine they did a CAT scan at 10 pm, it is now 1:44 AM and we still have not left the emergency room. It literally makes no sense that somebody is in the emergency room for six hours for someone to tell them that nothing is wrong. I went to Riverside hospital after being hit in the head with metal and was in and out the hospital with registration bloodwork and CAT scan within three hours. I will not be coming to Saint Ann's for the emergency room and I recommend that no one else goes there either. Went to the emergency room after having urgent care call St. Ann's to help us get in faster, and 9 and a half hours later we were discharged after having blood work and a bag of IV fluid. I went in due to pain in my chest on the left hand side. I had pneumonia which I got antibiotics for. After getting that figured out I did not have a ride well because they gave me a pill I could not leave walking for 4 hours. Saw the medicine was only for the pneumonia, asked if there was anything I could get for pain. The nurse told me your doctor is not here. I can't drive due to having a seizure behind the wheel so I have to walk in pain, can't breathe without being in pain. read more

Bad experience with the business/billing folks. Disturbing billing practices which demonstrate shoddy management and suggest poor medical practice. My wife recently had minor surgery here. We have insurance and received no bill for the balance for two months. After hearing nothing, we got a bill for the entire balance that did not reflect any insurance billing. We called to ask why insurance was not billed and were told "that's not our problem" and we were told to pay the entire balance. Billing folks were rude, condescending and useless. No explanation as to why our insurance was not billed. After letters and investigation, we found out Mt. Carmel never made a claim to our insurance company. We had to document everything, write multiple letters to different addresses and ask for the hospital to make a claim. It finally happened (3 months after the procedure) but still no word from the hospital. We eventually got an EOB showing that we owed a few hundred dollars. We sent that amount as payment (still without a bill) and wrote more letters requesting an explanation for the lapse. Eventually we received a rude call saying that "Mt. Carmel does not respond to patients in writing" and that since the balance was now zero the matter was closed. While we were glad to wrap the matter, we have never received a bill or written response showing the account was paid. I don't think a competent hospital would act like this. If they can't bill insurance or write a letter, why should you trust them to handle your body? We will find somewhere else to go and find other doctors. Rude and mismanaged. Treats patients like billable accounts. Go somewhere else. Plenty of good hospitals in Columbus. read more

It appears that those who are aggressive and continuously ask when their turn is going to be gets to check in first. I've had two aging parents in St. Ann's for emergency and inpatient care. The emergency department has always seemed excellent. The inpatient stays have been somewhat upsetting. Nurses rotate so much they do not get to know the patients. Nurses were caring for my parents without even knowing the admitting diagnosis and lacking basic information about them. Discharge orders were wrong which created a major crisis following my mom's discharge to a long-term facility. Discharge meds for my dad included a medication that made him sick. Are they paying attention? Communicating? Seems not. read more

St. Ann's medical staff, from doctors to nurses ,to radiologists and even to janitors were outstanding. My son's life was hanging in the balance for several days in 2011. I can honestly say that each and every person involved in his care and recovery was exceptional. I will never go back to this hospital! Let me tell you my story. I went to the ER due to horrible pelvic pain. I went in at 1 am on a Tuesday night. I sat in the waiting room until 2:30am before I was taken back to my room. I laid there until 3am before a PA (physician assistant) came into see me to tell me I needed to give a urine sample. I took the urine back to my room as instructed and laid there until 4 am when I finally hit my call light. 15 minutes later a nurse came in and rudely asked if I needed something. I said yes 2 things 1) I have had a urine sample sitting here for more than an hour, and 2) I asked for something for pain. "I'll let someone know" she says. I then laid there until 6am and pressed my call light again. After 15 minutes and no one coming to check on me, I had to get up and walk around to find someone. I told them that it had been more than 2 hours since I had asked for pain medication and no one has come back. "We'll let someone know". About 20 minutes later the PA came back in and told me that my urine came back fine and they were sending me home. I told her that I needed to know what was wrong with me. No tests had been done how did they "everything is okay". The PA asked me what I wanted her to do. Really?!?!?! I wanted her to do her job and find out what is wrong with me. So she asked did I want an ultrasound, a pelvic exam? About 20 minutes later a nurse came in and told me she was not my nurse but she was putting in an IV and taking a tube of blood. She finally gave me something for pain-1 vicodin. This was around 7 am (6 hours after I arrived at the hospital). The ultrasound tech came and took me for my test. Around 8 am my nurse finally came in and said sorry she hadn't been there she had arrived to work at 3am but was really busy. It takes 5 hours to do rounds? Really? I was in much more pain after the transvag. ultrasound and asked for more pain meds- 1 wasn't enough. Shortly later another nurse came in to discharge me but said that I had to have a ride or I would have to stay until 10:30am (4 hours required after pain meds). I had to have my husbands boss bring him all the way to the hospital from work otherwise they would not give me my prescriptions and discharge papers (which were being held by the receptionist while I wanted in the waiting room for my husband to arrive) When my husband arrived he called me to say that he was there. I asked for my papers but they insisted that my husband came into the hospital or I wasn't allowed to leave. I never found out what was wrong. I will never go back to St Ann's again. I will go to another hospital that isn't as convenient to get to but will treat me better. I have been in healthcare for a very long time and have never seen a patient treated this way. I was there for nearly 8 hours and had one test done after begging for it and still left without know what was wrong. read more

These are my experiences with St Ann's. In 2008, I went to their ER twice. The first time, I told them I coughed really hard and something gave in my back. The Attending diagnosed me with simple muscle strain even though I was in extreme pain. They discharged me to go back to work and told me to see my Family Doctor in a week. I didn't follow their advice and saw my Doctor right away. I actually had a broken rib which could have been really bad since my job required constant heavy lifting. A couple months later, I had a horrible pain in my neck. Again, the Attending diagnosed muscle strain and, since their previous diagnosis was so accurate, I ignored their advice to wait a week and made an immediate appointment with my Family Doctor. He made appointments with a Neurologist, who performed a nerve test and ordered an MRI. Because the ER didn't run the appropriate tests, it took almost 10 weeks of bouncing back and forth from doctor to doctor to finally get diagnosed for a herniated disk in neck. During all that time, numbness and atrophy settled into my lower left arm and hand. Even the Neurosurgeon admitted the ER should have run the MRI when I asked the Attending about it. In 2012, I had horrible lower back pain. The pain was so bad, I had to be wheeled into the ER. The Attending checked me over for about a minute, diagnosed me with muscle strain, and sent me home with a prescription for pain killers for 2 days worth. 2 days later, I became completely incapacitated and trapped in my own home. It took 3 days for me to get help and call an ambulance. I went back and was told I needed to sit still for an MRI. The pain killers I was given had no effect and I begged the Doctor to knock me out for the MRI. He came in the next 2 days telling me I had to sit still and it was not possible to sedate me for the MRI. I kept telling him numbness was spreading through my groin and down my legs but all he did was grin and walk out. Finally, the Neurosurgeon came in and I asked him about sedation, which he responded with "Of course we can." It turned out I had the largest herniated disc my Neurosurgeon had ever seen and he operated right away. But because it took a week from the onset of symptoms to the actual surgery, I am now blessed with Cauda Equinas Syndrome, a form of paralysis from the waist down. I tried to sue but the Neurosurgeon told me it could take up to 18 months to know for sure if I actually recover. By the time I could verify that my condition was permanent, the 12 month statute of limitations ran out. Talk about a catch 22. read more

So sad that all the reviews on here for St. Ann's are years old. I personally wouldn't go any place but St. Ann's. everything is up-dated or in the process of being up-dated. I have always had great care here. Was a cancer patient two years ago and had nothing but excellent care.......but I am also a good patient, it always makes a difference where ever you choose to go. read more

Don't go here. Especially if you need an OB/GYN for any reason. Most of the staff is very rude, and none of the doctors really seem to know what they're doing. I was in for a yearly test, and the doctor used a speculum that was INSANELY big. It hurt to the point where I was crying, and they said to me "you wanted this, didn't you?" In a rude tone of voice. They tore the tool out of me and actually tore my genitals to where they were bleeding and in a large amount of pain. They then made comments to me on how I was being rude somehow, and that it shouldn't hurt me since I look like I have sex too often. I ended up needing therapy after this for months. They are extremely rude, have no courtesy, and make you feel ABSOLUTLY awful. Don't go here, please find a doctor somewhere else. read more

A few weeks ago, my step dad brought to ER at ST. Ann's Hospital the medical team were great with services. However, he need to be admitted and he was transferred to the third floor. When he was in that room and were with him for almost 2 hours no one of medical personnel come in and check on him. For example, taking his vitals sign and no nurses come and check on him. I am not sure if they have enough staff on this unit. Then an RN come in as she introduce herself but I really do not appreciate the way she address my step dad, "Honey". Every time she comes in she address my step dad "Honey". Me and my step-dad talks about that jargon name being used is not proper to address a patients or a customer in any field of business transaction. There is a way that management should be aware what is is going on the floor. As I spent almost midnight with my step dad I could hear some names being used in the hallway which this word is not should be used. Health care worker should address their clients in professionalism not addressing patients like their pets name. For instance, addressing patient by their first name or Mr and Mrs So is acceptable unless they requested be called by their preferred name. With the high respect o people working in the medical fields but for what experiences we had. I will definitely not to recommend this hospital to any members of my family or friends. read more

I wanted to tell you about an experience that I had at St. Ann's/Mount Carmel hospital on Friday, January 11, 2013. I am pregnant and began having sharp pains, dizziness to the point of passing out. I was told by my triage nurse to go straight to the closest hospital, which I did. I arrived at St Ann's about 1:45pm. Check in was quickly, it took a while to get a room, which is expected. The staff was courteous. Once I was taken to a room. The nurse came in and told me to give them a urine sample, and get undressed. At this point the doctor came in, asked a few questions, ordered an ultrasound. In the over 7 hours I was in that hospital. This is the ONLY time I saw a doctor. He stated it may be an ectopic pregnancy, which of course has this first time mother in a fearful, tearful, mess. I get undressed and on the mat. I was not given a blanket to cover myself, and I was freezing. Finally the admissions nurse saw me there and brought me a blanket a while. I complained later and they said that is because I may have had a fever. They took my temperature when I first got in the hospital; they knew there was no fever. After a while I went to ultrasound, scared to death. They wouldn't allow my husband to go, which I suppose is understandable but thinking they may have to abort my baby, being alone definitely didn't help my stress level. Thankfully the ultrasound tech was amazing. She was caring and let me see what she saw. Then she told me that the doctor would be in to discuss results. The doctor never came. Finally at 8pm, my husband went out because I was exhausted, starving, and scared. The doctor said that he would be in in 5 - 10 mins and offered to bring me a bagged lunch. I told him if he is coming in 5-10 mins, I will be fine because I had food in the car. 30 minutes later... nothing. I stepped out to a nurse in the hallway to ask her, she copped an attitude and said she was "tending to severely ill patients. Are you severely ill because you don't look it". I replied, "I don't know and neither do you, because in 7 hours I haven't even seen a doctor". She mumbled some junk under her breathe, and my husband dragged me away. At this point, I am angry, hungry, tired, scared, and just want out of this hospital. We go back to the doctor and complain AGAIN. Get our disk, the nurse makes a million excuses for their poor treatment of me, and I leave. I LEAVE feeling the SAME CRAMPS, SAME DIZZINESS. St Ann's did absolutely nothing for me. This is the WORST experience in a hospital I have EVER had. I received NO FORM OF MEDICAL TREATMENT for my ailment, received NO DOCTOR VISIT regarding my ailment, but I guarantee St. Ann's/Mt Carmel will have absolutely NO PROBLEM sending me a bill for the very little they did. My baby will NOT be born in this hospital and based on my experience with this ER, it would have better chance of survival born in a barn in the middle of winter on top of a dying pony. read more
