Just drove out here to see what kind of Sour Beers they had, and the gentleman behind the counter quickly showed me where exactly I could browse for what I wanted. I ended up grabbing a 4 pack and then like 7 other pints and 12 oz cans so I can try some different flavors and companies, it all came out to a crazy low price which I'm obviously happily surprised. The guy was very helpful and super nice, store is quite large and definitely has a HUGE SELECTION. I had a great experience here. They have a good variety of mix and match beers that support local establishments. Outside of local brews, they carry stuff from Asheville, which, was satisfying to my need. I enjoyed the customer service and the overall space. They sell draft, kegs, crowlers, growlers, and other stuff. If you have your own growler, bring it and use it to take some draft home. Pricing is reasonable for the area. read more

If you're looking for a great selection of beer, this is your joint. Excellent selection of domestics and many imports. Moderate pricing and the ability to do the "pick 6" and choose individuals if you want to sample some different brews. The growler station is awesome. Plenty on tap and rotated seasonally. They even said they are willing to fill any growler, cup, 2-liter, plastic bag, or liquid holding device (within reason) that you can bring in to fill! They do have a special on Tuesday with great pricing. Only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5: depends on who is working when you walk in as to how welcomed you will feel. Check other folks reviews, seems like this is not the first experience. I get that it is a beer joint, but the first time we walked in there was a gentleman that never said a word to us the entire time we were in the store. We got stared at like criminals, and felt so unwelcome the entire time. The next time, we expressed we'd never been in before and didn't know how things worked there, and a (different) super nice gentleman walked us around, showed us different selections, offered to make suggestions, and told us all about the growler station, their specials, and even welcomed us to return for more business. I'm from Pennsylvania, so this place is always a treat for me while I'm down visiting family in the Nashville area. More times than not, I'll set my GPS for this place, build myself a six pack and then finish the last couple minutes of my trip. The guy inside is always helpful, and the variety is always borderline shocking. I have a handful of growers from here back in Pennsylvania that have basically become keepsake / decorations at camp. Mt Juliet Beer Co is an asset to have in Mt Juliet. I have been coming for two years now. The place looks a little dumpy on the outside, so I figured it was one of those places that claims to a have the cheapest beer in town, but really is just basically a gas station with no gas. I was very wrong. They offer the best selection of beer of any store I have ever been to. I am a big European beer fan and they always have a ton of German and Austrian beers you can't find elsewhere in the area. The owner is very friendly as well. I will NOT spend money at this store. The proprietor of this business was so very rude to my wife and I and we are struggling to even understand why. It was so out of left field and downright bizarre, we were left feeling more confused than angry. I have a couple of growlers that I wanted to get filled so we decided to go and check out the Mt Juliet Beer Company. We were there, waiting in line. There were two gentlemen ahead of us who both were getting growlers filled and buying a few other things. We waited patiently while the man behind the counter (Mike, who it turns out is also the owner) filled their growlers and rang them up. Then it was our turn. I approached the counter with a big smile on my face and giving an enthusiastic "Hi!" I then asked him a question about one of his taps. He then, abruptly and without explanation, turned to the woman behind us in line, who arrived after us and said, "I'm going to ring her up first." My wife and I were extremely confused. No explanation was offered. I don't know if he was trying to get a date or what. The only other thing I could think of was I had a growler from The Filling Station (a similar establishment) and he didn't like that. But wouldn't a business owner LOVE the opportunity to impress a shopper and steal business from a competitor?? Still, I'm only speculating because, like I said, he never provided any reason for snubbing us and making us wait. My wife said, "That was rude. Let's go." and I agreed. As we were heading out the door she said to him, "You do realize we were here first, right?" He looked my wife right in the face and sarcastically said "Yeah." His expression and posture gave the message of "Yeah, I know and I'm glad about it." Seriously, what a jerk. The thing is, I am a big beer fan and so are a lot of my friends. We try every kind of beer we come across. We buy growlers. We even brew our own (which this store sells brewing stuff too). Hell, we even have beer apps on our phones. This guy didn't just lose a sale. He lost a lot of repeat and loyal business. And I will be sure to tell everyone of my friends about this baffling and idiotic experience. read more

Having read all the reviews here, I was expecting a fantastic bottle shop with a great selection of brews. I have to say that I was very disappointed in the place overall. They have a decent selection of craft beer and lots of local Tennessee brews, which is great. They also have homebrew supplies and the prices seemed decent, which is always good to have too. Navigating the store is bit tricky if there's a few customers here just because the aisles are very, very narrow and get congested easily if a few people are in the same aisle. However, the reason for my low rating is a huge glaring faux pas for a bottle shop: they have way, way too many brews exposed to direct sunlight from the large windows in the front of the shop. This is going to ruin the beer and it was even worse that they put green glass bottles right there. I might be back if they fix their mistakes, but I'll go elsewhere until then. read more

By far best place to get beer and growler fills. Has a great selection of beers and keeps a good number of them cold. Majority of the store can be a mix-a-six. Also the variety of growler fill options is real nice and being able to sample them before hand is good if you want to try a new beer. They like to support the local brewery's as well. This place has a great selection but most everything craft beer is old, meaning some beer in this store is even past it's due date. This won't hurt you but I like IPAs or hoppy beers and there was not much of anything under 5 months old. I felt like I was at the dollar store for beers LOL. They do have sweetwater IPA on tap and is probably the best seller so you might be safe there, but if you are looking for really fresh beer and great service in the Nashville area go down town!! Decent American craft beer selection, with a good choice of local beers. Almost non-existent selection of Asian beers. At first glance, the European beer selection is large; however, most of the German and Czech beers are either the same mass-produced beer you can buy at the supermarket, or they are one of the fairly well-known Bavarian beers. Not much selection from other regions. I realize most Americans think Bavaria=Germany, but there's a lot of stuff out there that's better/different than the Bavarian Oktoberfest style and big-vat beers. Ever since moving to Nashville, I've been looking for a place to get some specialty beers. Kroger, Publix, and even World Market have a few varieties but nothing compared to what I could get back home. My boyfriend told me about this place in Mt Juliet so on Friday (since we had the day off) we decided to drive out here to check it out. I was definitely impressed with the beer selection they had. I spent a good 15-20 minutes just looking at everything before I decided what to get. Most of their beer they sell in 6 packs and in single bottles for the build your own 6 pack. I built my own and got quite a variety. I had to struggle to choose only six to get, so I will be back to probably get at least three more. Didn't really interact with the employees so I can't say how knowledgeable they are, although the guy who rang us up seemed nice. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for specialty beers in the area! read more

It's hard to understand the value of an establishment without understanding the dynamics of it's environment. First, Wilson County, in which MJBC resides, is a "limited" county, which means it is at the discretion of the cities within the county to determine if they will allow liquor sales. Mt Juliet does not. This means you can buy a drink at a restaurant or bar, and you can buy low ABV beer (less than 6%) at the supermarket or convenience store, but you can't buy wine or liquor by the bottle within city limits. Taking this into perspective, one can understand the impact of a "beer store" on a community that can't have a liquor store and probably considered Yengling Black and Tan to be a really fancy craft beer pre-MJBC. Fast-forward to today... Mike (the proprietor) now has over 400 beers to choose from as well as 15 beers on tap. The store is usually busy, but Mike will always take time to talk and answer questions. They also carry everything a home brewer would need and have staff who can answer all of your questions in that regard. The ONLY negative about this establishment is the fact that they are unable to carry many of the labels that I want to try because of the alcohol content limitations. I will be a loyal customer of this store for as long as it is around. read more

I am so glad to have this family-owned place in MJ. You can't find many of these beers without a trip to Nashville. MJBC always has about a dozen beers ON DRAFT which you can take home in your glass "growler" (one size is 1/2 gal, one size is half of that). A half-gallon for less than $10. They also have a LOT of home-brewing equipment and supplies...and they've just put in a humidor, too. read more

This the best watering hole in Wilson county! Mike and Mike are two of the most knowledgable beer guys I ever met, and I am somewhat of a kind-a-sewer of good brew. They are very customer friendly and helpful to all that come to the store. I am in this place at least 3 times a week and have watched how the staff is so helpful and would recommend this establishment to anyone who appreciates a good variety of crafted beers.
