We stopped in for some adult beverages for the Holiday. They have a great selection of liquors, wines and beer. I picked out 420 (an Atlanta beer) a pear cider and a couple bottles of Sauvignon blanc New Zealand wine. It was busy but when I stepped up near the counter they opened another register, (no waiting at all.) Great selection, fast service, fair prices. Yup, I'll be back when I'm in the area. read more

Amazing Liquor Store in East Nashville on Gallatin. Since moving to this side of town, we have been scoping spots to call our go-to spot and we have officially found it at Sinkers! While this part of Gallatin is not known for the best of things, Sinkers stands out for all the right reasons. A well put together, clean, large and well stocked liquor store that features the obscure to the popular, and local to the specialty. A wide variety of all spirits, as well as beer and wine. And in addition to all the ooze, they have quite a bit of booze related items that make for great gifts...and they also have a tasting bar that they hold special tastings at on occasion. Sinkers can get busy, but the flow of the registers works quite well. It is almost Home Goods-esk in the layout and how they operate it. Get your bottle, get in line then get out! What a cool Liquor store! They even have a nice tasting bar. I tried a sample of a tequila and a bourbon...loved the bourbon. They also have a great selection of specialty Tequila which I really like. It was the only place around Nashville that I've been able to find Fortaleza tequila in awhile. I think there are shortages due to shipping/cargo issues from other countries. Anyway, this is a very nice place with a great selection and an amazing team that will get you taken care of. Sinkers has been my go to for several years! It's clean and the costumer service is always impeccable. Unfortunately, my choice of drink went from 39.99 to I believe 49.99 in one month. For that I may need to find a more affordable place to shop. They hadn't changed the price tag yet so maybe it didn't go up a full 10 dollars but it was quite the shock when he told me the grand total. I asked why such a hike in price but wasn't offered much insight. 10 dollars is a huge difference for a mid level rum. It's cool to raise a little considering all that's happening with the things going on with the government but that's feeling a bit more like greed. read more

Whenever I make a trip here I'm always pleasantly surprised by how much they have. Everything is organized and well stocked, the staff is friendly and helpful. Occasionally step up offering samples of different items in the store. A huge selection on Vodka's and Whiskey's, with good options for other liquors as well. They have multiple sizes of the brands they sell, which for me is a huge plus as I'm working to stock my home bar. Over in their mixers they have one of the best selection of bitters and bar staples over seen in a liquor store in Nashville. Even carrying some non alcoholic spirits as well. As a Black man I always feel very uncomfortable about being at Sinkers as a customer, because 90 percent of the time the looks and stares that I receive appear to be very angrily as if I am about to rob the place or steal something. Even though I am well into my sixties it makes me very afraid for my safety. The last time that I was in the store in fact on today one of the workers followed me out to the parking lot and I didn't even know it until I was unlocking my car to get in it and when I turned around to see what I had heard near me,1 the gentleman had his hand in on something sticking out of his pant pocket that was black and appeared to be the handle of a side arm. But as I opened my car door to place my purchase in the car he went around me to go to another vehicle near mine, opened the door and retrieved something and went back into the store. That to me is very frightful service for no justifiable or valid reason what so ever. read more

I asked an employee about his non-masked face, they said something to the "security guard" and the "security guard" instead of asking him to mask up or inquire as to why he couldn't wear one, said to the dude, "you have a medical condition, right?" They often have tastings of new liquor or even give you a sample to sip of something new they're handling. They have multiple taps of local beer to fill your growlers and an admirable "beer cave". Buyer beware when getting kegs from sinkers. They make you purchase the tap out right for $50 due to "COVID". I was led to believe it was a $50 deposit for the tap when checking out, but when I returned the keg they informed me that I purchased the tap out right because they no longer rent taps. I called frugal McDougal and asked if they no longer rent taps because of Covid, and they said that was crazy. They rent taps for $10 at frugal McDougal. Shame on me for not asking more questions. Shame on sinkers for capitalizing off of a pandemic. I will not be shopping there ever again. read more

3.5 Point blank: this is a neighborhood liquor store. If you don't live in/near Inglewood, I doubt you'll ever set foot in the place. It's not a booze-shopping destination by any stretch of the imagination. But, if you live in the area, step inside and see what you find. And, when you do step inside, know that the name means business: wine & spirits. If you're into beer, keep it moving -- even to the close-by Kroger. And, dear readers, I take umbrage with that. I know TN liquor laws make not one whit of sense -- especially in light of Nashville's rapidly changing population. But, when I am able to get a better craft beer selection at a big box chain grocery store rather than the neighborhood liquor store, that's not all that great. I'm guessing the owner is more in to wine & liquor. After all, it's right there in the name. But, here's the thing: the nearby clientele, undoubtedly, drinks craft beer. Look around. To have such a small selection and to not allow customers to make their own 6-pack, to me, is short-sighted. But, I'm a beer drinker. If I didn't touch the stuff, I might be more of a fan. The shop is big, the selection is well-organized, the workers aren't rude (even if they aren't as friendly as a few of the other stores I frequent with more regularity), and the prices aren't outrageous. Sinker's is my preferred neighborhood liquor store. While Woodland Wines down in Five Points is a really nice, classy little spot, Sinker's vast selection secures it as the number one liquor outlet in my neck of the woods. Sinker's runs the gamut, from low-end cheap-as-dirt whiskey to some genuinely nice wines, tequilas, bourbons and vodkas. The staff at Sinker's has always been quite nice to me, which isn't always a given when you're dealing with liquor stores. There tends to always be at least two or three employees on hand who never seem to mind helping you locate your preferred poison. I'll even forgive them that they don't have my much sought after Fireball Whisky (I'm beginning to think only one place in town has the stuff). Anyhow, in addition to having just about everything you could ever desire, Sinker's prices are reasonable, and they have every size of every spirit imaginable. They even offer little impulse items at the register: tiny bottles of liquor! Every time I go in this place with the strict intention of purchasing some wine or a nice bourbon, I end up with at least four tiny bottles of Jagermeister or some type of rum. I have been a loyal customer to this liquor store for nearly 5 years. I have gotten to know security guards, some of the clerks, and overall had been satisfied with the establishment. Recently, I met a new employee named John who offered his assistance in finding an item. Upon establishing that the item was out of stock, he presented which seemed to be, at the time, superb customer service by saying that he would have the item in on Friday and that I he would be glad to let me know if for any reason it did not come in. I gave John my number and he said I could expect to hear from him only if the item did not make it into the store. Friday came, I did not hear from John, so I stopped by to pick up my mix. Unfortunately, the mix had not been restocked or ordered. That was when I spoke with another new face, whom I did not have the pleasure of catching his name. This man apologized for the inconvenience and promptly told me that he would have it ordered and it would certainly be there by that following Tuesday. That Wednesday I came to the store to find they were still out of stock. Granted, I have worked retail, customer service and service industry positions and am well aware that sometimes items are on back order, you're waiting for your merchant to respond, etc., but the core of my complete dissatisfaction was how this man handled the fact that I was there, he had told me the item would be there and it was not. Immediately he copped a snarky remark about how he left a message and was waiting for a call back. He then accused me of not believing him, which I assured him I did, but I wanted to make the point that I had now been promised twice that the item would be there and it continued not to be. He attempted to pick up the phone so he could call and "I could speak with whomever it was to prove he placed the order" to which I rightly declined. Frustrated, I told this man that I was not pleased with his and the stores customer service and that he just lost a customer. To which this man loudly replied "Good!" with his arms crossed. Luckily, I found the mix at the Kroger next store, but I will stand by my choice to no longer support a store whose employees demonstrate poor respect for customers. A customer is always right, and in this case, I literally was. It is my hope that the owner or manager of this store has a talk with their employees about how to conduct themselves professionally, and that the man who snapped at me is having a better day today. read more

I HEART Woodland Wine Merchant which is why I have been in a very committed relationship with them over the last year. They always offer up great selections for the 6 for $60 wine deal, love the ambiance, and the staff is super helpful. However, every now and then... a girl just needs something quick and dirty, right? Sinkers is my mistress. You can score practically every kind of booze and wine here and for discounted prices. It ranges from lower quality to respectable all under one roof and I'm not just talking about the inventory folks. Sometimes you just need a cheap $6 bottle of wine to get your through a bland dinner or a tiresome day and Sinkers is a great solution for that. Nice selection of vodka and bourbon too! I rarely step out on my boo Woodland but if I need a quick fix... Sinkers is always waiting. TIP: Rather healthy selection of boxed wines towards the back that hover around $20. I was fairly surprised to find relatively low prices on many different items, despite being in the heart of Davidson County, let alone in a more upscale store. It has a no-hassle staff who is always friendly at the register. Also, it is one of the few liquor stores on gallatin that doesn't feel the least bit sketchy. Due to the limitations of space they are lacking some brands and specialty liquors that I've sought, but not many. They do make room for an oddly extensive collection of differently shaped tequila bottles which includes a gangster-style rifle if you're ever in the market for such a thing. read more

If you're looking for a liquor store in town to use as your go-to, this is the one you want. It's way bigger on the inside than it appears from the street. And given the location, it's nowhere near as skeazy as a lot of businesses on Gallatin. They really have a ton of stuff here- probably including whatever it is you're looking for in particular. Parking is never a problem at all. And it's a block away from Kroger, for all of your chaser needs. The security guy told us a really lame joke about what the Jägermeister logo stands for, but we'll write that off as being friendly. Glad to have this place nearby. read more

This is the worst liquor store I've ever shopped. The manager and employees are extremely rude and do not like helping the customer. They are always out of the only variety of vodka that I purchase. The last time I shopped here, the manager and cashiers were horrible!! I would not shop here if it was the last liquor store on earth. He went above and beyond. Not only did he spend 20 minutes with us to listen to our likes and dislikes and find us some great new suggestions (which we've fallen in love with) he scoured the entire store to find one last bottle of McKenna 10 year for me! Woohoo! I love this place. They have great selections of any liqour or wine you can dream of. This is a clean and well managed store. They are stocked full of traditional and unique options. I found everything from iridescent purple liqours to honeysuckle vodka to a good ole classic chardonnay. They even have some fantastic beer choices. Tons of small bottles to choose from. My only complaint is that they do not have many options for mixers. You will need to go to Kroger next door for any decent margarita mixes or nice seltzers and sodas. read more
