This one has a good bit of space for larger events. The annual Privateer Feast fundraiser for breast cancer research was moved to this venue for the first time this year - as we had outgrown the old venue and were turning people away! This building houses all the things for your important document things- the birth and death certificates. Fairly easy to spot from the road, plenty of parking available. Due to it being a Govt building you do have to go through a metal detector. Security there is nice and helpful. Office to get birth certificates is immediately to your left. Simply go to the window, provide the clerk with the requested items, pay your fee and wait a coupe of minutes for the item to be printed. The wait was non-existent and the folk that worked there were really nice. Super happy that o was able to check something else off my list.

Covid has made things a little different, but it seems like they have pivoted, updated, and re-updated their policies as things change. Just FYI, this location doesn't have the biggest kid section but I always am able to check out the books I went by requesting them online first!

Local historical groups I've put much effort into restoring maintaining and, presenting this place in for visitors interested in colonial era history. Londontown was created in part, to tax and regulate the tobacco trade of the era - a significant source of revenue for the local government. The plat contains what was in its day an opulent tavern built by William Brown; a carpenters shop; and a tidewater tenement surrounded by modern buildings including a museum. No doubt it's difficult to find and reconstruct these revolutionary era buildings and sites today. But worth a visit if you happen to be in the area is exit 49 off of I 95 in the state of Georgia at the town of Darien is a complete reconstruction of the revolutionary British fort called Fort King George. A number of publications presenting the history and use of colonial era tools, medicines, and other interesting items can be found at this location.

We love the children's section for the boys as they have a puppet…read morebooth, play areas that change with season, a computer for children to use with games appropriate to learning and age, puzzles, etc. They also have a great variety of magazines for kids and grown ups. You can use them while you are there. And if you are electronically savvy they have many free online magazines you can read from home with your library card. The staff is very helpful in all regards. We have been going here for a couple years now and we always enjoy going. They also host many children's and grown up events.
